The morning didn't start out well for Melissa, who was currently trying to stay calm and looking around. Diana, who is usually not the best at loading, doesn't like being loaded. Melissa looked around and looked towards the stable or riding hall she had been accepted into. She saw that it was bumpier than she had expected. She heard Diana moaning in the transport. Melissa sighed and led her out of the transport.

Hugo Cavendish | 19 | Second Year | Casanova VDL (Romeo) | Schedule: Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage - Hugo would be lying if he said he hadn't been counting down the days until he was driving back down the track to IEEC. The 7.5t lorry felt excessive for just Romeo, but the gelding preferred it to a smaller box, and besides, Hugo wasn't exactly going to turn down the lavish offer from his parents when they bought it. As he rounded the corner, the Imperial Elite Equestrian Center came into view -- it was even bigger than he remembered it, with new barns and yet more parking space. Ideal, given he had never quite lived down scuffing his horsebox against the fence when he first arrived last year. - The hydraulic ramp lowered gently to the gravel, revealing a rather keen looking Romeo, peering over the loading gates to survey his surroundings. - "Don't get yourself wound up, Ro," Hugo chuckled as he propped the partition open and undid the slip knot in his leadrope. "Just excited to be back, aren't you?" Scratching the gelding's withers, just below his navy cooler rug, he began to lead Romeo down the ramp and across the car park towards the barns. He nodded to the member of staff who handed him his schedule, which he folded and shoved in his pocket with a mental note to look at it later. His current concern was getting Romeo settled, although their drive over hadn't been quite as bad as some of the international students who'd had to fly themselves and their horses here. The stall was bedded down already, luckily, but Hugo would throw an extra bale of shavings down once he'd unpacked (Romeo was, after all, a bit of a princess and threatened to get cast fairly regularly without a thick bank of shavings around his stable walls). - His travel headcollar was leather, with thick rolls of sheepskin across the noseband, headpiece and sides. Slipping the navy cooler off the gelding's dappled quarters, Hugo crouched to start removing the matching travel boots. The last one was barely off before Romeo dropped to his knees, rolling in the thick shavings bed provided. - "Make yourself at home, why don't you?" He shook his head at the gelding, turning to slip the rug over the bar outside the door and tucking the boots under his arm to take back to the lorry. Austin Carter 19. 1st Year. Horse: CF Hallow Wind aka Mav. Hunter Showing, Equitation, Polo.
As soon as the truck was turned off, Austin hopped out. The place was giant. Was this the right place? He looked around. Had to be. It looked like the pictures. Mav's pawing in the trailer pulled his attention back. The blue roan stallion had his muzzle out of the trailer, nickering at Austin like 'Hey, dude? Get me out of here!' Austin chuckled, and walked to the back of the trailer to unlatch it. The stallion had one of his fronts up on a ridge of the trailer like a prince with his foot on a pedistal. "You little oaf." Austin grumbled, hopping into the trailer and untying Mav. He backed the stallion out of the trailer. His ears perked up and he whinnyed as soon as he saw the barn. Austin groaned. "Can't you be quiet for once? Huh? You weren't loud at all at the last Worlds." After the stallion finally shut up, he headed to where some oher students were waiting for papers. Maybe it had the barns on it? Might as well take the shot. Lucky enough, he got Mav's barn and stall number. He walked the blue roan into the barn, and luckily enough he was quiet for once. He put him in his assigned stall, before heading back out to his trailer to get his tack. Great. 3 saddles, 4 bridles, saddlepads, saddle blankets, boots, breastcollars. He sighed, putting one of the english saddles ontop of his western, grabbing a couple of bridles and put them on his shoulder. Back in the barn, he put the saddles on the stand, bridles on the western saddles horn, and went back out to get the polo saddle he had along with the last 2 bridles, and some saddle pads. Of course after that he had to do another trip, but after he made sure Mav was all good and not freaking out before heading to gt his schedual.

Nastasya Xenia Volkov/ 1st year/ show jumping, cross country, pleasure riding, in-hand showing/ Thunder's Striker and Lightning Crasher/ 17. Nastasya groaned, rolling over as her alarm went off. Five o'clock in the morning. She turned her alarm off, and sat up, rubbing her face. This was all new to her; being in an elite equestrian center, having a dormmate, professional training. Speaking of her roomate, she glanced over, hoping she didn't wake her. After a few moments, she gathered her clothes, and took a shower. Cold showers in the morning, warm in the evening. After ten minutes, she came out, smelling like roses with cinnamon. After brushing her teeth, hair, flossing her teeth, and basic things, she headed to the stables. Her two horses, a Dutch Warmblood stallion, Thunder's Striker, and her Thoroughbred mare, Lightning Crasher, were in their stalls. Both were jet black, not an ounce of white on their bodies. She just got their feed and water buckets, and their hay nets.
"Yeah, yeah. You're a menace." Nastasya grumbled, patting Thunder's Striker, who had been nosing her. She scooped their proper dietary feeds in their buckets, and filled their water buckets. After both had their buckets, she stuffed their hay nets to the brim with fresh hay. While the two ate, she got her grooming kit, and brushed them, combed their manes, tails, and forelocks. When their bodies were done, she got a damp rag, and cleaned their nostrils, ears, and around their eyes. (Not with snot/boogers, she wouldn't do that.) Finally, she got a hoofpick, and cleaned out their hooves, while checking to see if their shoes were on.

Dallas Winnow 19 || 2nd Year || SS Romping With The Hills aka Pops || Equitation, Eventing, & Polo. -- Dal walked over to where someone was giving out stable arrangements, Pops walking on a loose lead behind her. One of her pet-peeves was a horse that walked beside you or infront of you, like the horse was leading you and not vise-versa. She got her stalling arrangments from the person. Barn one, stall 2. Good. it'd make Pops happier to be able to see ouside. She walked to the barn, and put her into the stall. When the halter was off, the mustang sniffed around the stall. -- Dallas watched her for a second before closing and latching the stall door, hanging the halter on the hook. She walked out of the barn, heading to the office to get her schedual. Once she got it and was out of the office, she looked at it. Equitation, good. She paused as her eyes got to the second class. "Well, that's going to be interesting." She murmured, before continuing down to polo. -- After that, she went back to the barn to make sure Pops hadn't broken a wall. Thankfully, she hadn't. The mare had her had over the stall door, watching people and their horses as they arrived. She nickered softly as she saw Dal. 'Good,' Dallas thought, 'you haven't tried to kill yourself yet. Improvement.' Edited at November 22, 2025 12:44 PM by Mustang Valley

Crew Tatem 19 | 2nd Year | Horse: Lord Leatherfair aka. Valegro | Show Jumping, Eventing, & Hunter Showing ・❥・ . More riders were filing in. Great. I mean - there wasnt a way Crew could have avoided that, 29 more students had been prepared to come so he supposed he should have been more prepared. The young man had scanned through his schedule in the past few minutes, green eyes drifting over the page. His first class didnt come as much of a surprise, and it was good too, Valegro enjoyed jumping much over dressage so it'd work nicely. Eventing... yes, yes... Lunch. Hunter showing was the last class on the form and he nodded, everything looked good. He had taken flat showing lessons in his previous year, along with the Equitation program the space provided so he knew his way around quite a bit already. Eyes lifting from the page, they shifted to the side, catching on a few young men and women who were getting their own horses situated. A few of them looked familiar, most likely from last year but there were a few new faces as well which was excited. Crew simply hoped they were prepared for this next year. Valegro snorted and his riders attention flickered back to the stallion, giving a crooked grin and cocking his head slightly to the side at the sight he was witnessing. Valegro stood there, long neck reaching down to muddle about in the fresh hay that had been placed just hours before. The stallion sneezed and that alone seemed to spook him momentarily and a shrill whinny let out from the horse's throat. And he went back to it again. Crew shook his head slowly, a soft, yet humurous expression plastered on his face. Very good... Oh, crap. The man pulled out his phone at the buzzing vibration, it looked like his roomie was calling...? "Hey man, whats up?" Crew shifted back onto his postion on the stall door, leg lifting to lean on it as he ran a hand through his hair. He froze, agrivation creeping onto his features at the words he recieved. "Youre kidding... right? No, I could have sworn I packed it - fuck, okay well." He took in a breath, letting it out in a sharp huff. "Would you mind dropping it off when you can? The centers not too far away but I can't leave now, we have dinner in the dining hall at 4:30 tonight." His eyes glanced at the time, yep, already 1:45. "Alright, thanks dude. Appreciate it, yep, bye." Damn it. Crew had purchased subscribed antibiotics to help strengthen Valegro's joints right before he got accepted, how could he have forgotten?

Melissa, who usually doesn't dare ask for help, looks around a little extra to see if anyone here is willing to help a little. She sighed deeply and said, "It's lucky we have you, old lady," she said to her mare, who is currently looking around with her.

Hugo Cavendish | 19 | Second Year | Casanova VDL (Romeo) | Schedule: Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage || Having packed Romeo's travel boots neatly back in the lorry's spacious storage area, Hugo began the task of unloading the rest of his gelding's (and his own) posessions ready for another year at IEEC. A bridle bag containing three bridles slung over one shoulder, he managed to juggle his dressage and jump saddles, one propped on each hip. They were both covered with monogrammed canvas covers, bearing the initials HC in cream-coloured thread against the navy background. He made his way over to the tackroom, grimacing slightly at the though of dropping one of his saddles as he readjusted. Once all of his tack was safely situated on its respective racks, he continued to unpack: boots, grooming box, rugs, miscellaneous pieces of leatherwork he didn't entirely remember packing... Eventually, Romeo was suitably moved in and happily nibbling at his haynet when Hugo took a moment to lean up against the doorway to the tackroom and study the now slightly crinkled paper in his pocket. - Eventing, Show Jumping, and Dressage -- the perfect curriculum for the pair (he was dreading scanning down the list and seeing 'polo', he could only imagine what Romeo would think of that). He slipped the paper back into the pocket of his grey breeches and turned to the gelding. "I think you could do with some grass, couldn't you, hmm?" He murmured, figuring the sunny weather gave them a good opportunity for a leg stretch -- particularly while the barn was as busy as it was getting. He grabbed Romeo's daily headcollar, a plain brown leather article with a brass nameplate on the cheek reading 'Casanova VDL' and clucked softly for the gelding to come over. Eloise Rae Browns | 17 | Year 1 Girl | Mango Tango (Mango) | Show Jumping, Hunter Showing, Dressage Eloise had woken early that morning when her alarm had gone off at 5 AM. She sat up, clicking off the alarm on her phone, and getting up to shower. She showered, taking her time, and then exited the bathroom in a towel, her blonde hair wrapped in a towel on her head as well. Eloise pulled on the set of clothes she'd picked out last night, a pair of cream breeches and a navy blue short-sleeved top she tucked into her breeches. She then went back to the bathroom to dry and curl her hair. Once she was all ready, around 6 AM. Eloise made her way down to the barn and loaded Mango into the trailer, getting him all settled and double-checking she had packed everything away into her trailer the night before. Just as she had suspected, everything she would need for the year was there. So at 6:30, she left her barn, driving down to IEEC. Eloise had been absolutely ecstatic when she had gotten her acceptance letter. Of course, it didn't shock her; she already had some amazing and well-known trainers over the years. Eloise arrived at IEEC at 7:30 AM. It was massive here... huge. She got out, checking on Mango first before following the crowd of people to what seemed to be where everyone was checking in and getting their schedules. She saw a boy ahead of her, a tall, orangey-brunette boy who seemed a little older, and looked like he knew what he was doing, and he was in line too. She was quite good at reading people. So she followed suit, standing in line to check in and get her schedule. Once she'd received her schedule on a piece of paper, she looked it over in great detail. She'd gotten all the classes she'd wanted and was quite happy about it. A small smile appeared on her lips as she folded the paper neatly and pocketed it, going back over to her trailer, unloading Mango, and walking him down to his stall.

Dallas Winnow 19 || 2nd Year || SS Romping With The Hills aka Pops || Equitation, Eventing, Polo -- Unfortunatly, the calm with Pops only lasted ten minutes. Dal didn't even have time to get her tack situated before the mare was pawing loudly at the door. Dallas rubbed her temples, muttering, "I swear, mare, I will kill you in you don't stop." but alas, the mare continued. She pushed through the annoyance to get her tack all good, and then grabbed the mares halter, opened the stalls door, and Pops basically tried to shoe her nose into the halter before Dal even had it unlatched. Dallas led the mare out of the stall and outside, into the grass. Once she had the ok, Pops put her head down and basically gulped down grass. Dal had to basically pull her head up to make sure she swallowed and didn't choke herself. After a few minutes of watching the mare eat and getting incredibly bored, Dallas shrugged and led the mare over to something she could stand on to sit on Pops so she didn' get bored out of her mind. Of course, she needed something to help her on the mare because unlike some people, while shes a skilled roper and all of that, she can't vault onto a 16 hand horse without blinking. She made sure to throw the lead rope over the mares neck before she hopped on her back because she knows Pops will do something without it. And then of course, she hopped onto the mares back and let her walk back over to where she had been previously grazing. When the mare was settled and grazing again, Dal leaned backward on her back. Eventing would be... interesting, to say the least. She wasn't happy about the tight 2 rein part of it, though. She knew that Pops can jump on a loose rein no problem, but it would be convincing the instructors to let her keep the mare in a loose rein. Hell, Dallas had spent years training the mare buckaroo style- weight and leg cues galore- but she needed the mare to keep a soft mouth to be able to slide and cut off calves and spin on her haunches with the touch of a rein. Thats what was useful where Dal was from. But this... this was different. She got polo last year and was able to get away with a loose rein, since the mare did everything needed that way as your average horse did on a tight rein. The instructor had called it remarkable. Buttt it's different now that she got put in Eventing. Sure, when she got back after the school year she could work the mares mouth back up by putting her in a snaffle or just riding her in a hackamore, but it'd be weird riding a fully trained bridle horse like she was riding a newbie. She'd just have to see how it went. Edited at November 23, 2025 01:51 AM by Mustang Valley
