Lucifer frowned just slightly. -On the other hand...- He thought, glancing at the other two lionesses. "Never mind Nymeria and Astrid. It's fine, just rest." He said quietly. He didn't really like big hunting parties... and at the moment Vivian was his favorite because she actually moved. "Vivian, are you okay with hunting alone with me? I smelled a zebra herd and would like to see if there was a weaker one." Lucifer asked, flicking his long tail. He glanced over at Lyra before looking back and waiting for an answer.

Vivi was surprised when she heard Lucifer excuse the other lionesses from going to the hunting party, She was somewhat happy, Vivi could make due with 2, It was much more suitable than 4. She smiled kindly, "Of course" She replied, A zebra would be great for the pride, From what she had remembered, They hadn't eaten for a good few hours, Hunger leads to aggression, And that tension could be avoided, She hoped they'd be able to find a weaker zebra and successfully bring it back. Vivian had to admit, it sounded a little scary to her going hunting with the Lead hunter she was aware that the higher ranks in the pride were way more dominant, So she'd have to be careful.

Lucifer glanced at her. "Let's go then." He dipped his head, starting off at a rolling amble and slowly quickening till he was loping along, his ears pricked for sounds and his nostrils flaring. He turned left slightly, following the stale scent of Zebra that, with a lot of luck, got stronger by the minute. Soon he could hear them, trampeling around. Lucifer slowed down, adjusting his direction till they were downwind. "Let's look for the weak one. Just observe from the back for a couple minutes.." Lucifer told Vivian, then he went sideways off into the brush. His hunting style was to take it slow, to look for the weakest Zebra, to break it off from the others... everything to make sure it was successful. He stayed downwind but off to the side a little, watching. There was one Zebra with a considerable limp... and it looked a little older, too.

She followed after him, Her steps were silent as they edged the herd, The Zebra seemed to have not noticed their presence, Thanks to Lucifer who had been adjusting direction, She nodded to his directions and backed a bit up entering the tall grass as she glared clearly at the herd, Her gaze flicked towards Lucifer, By following his gaze she spotted the Zebra he was thinking about going for, It was considerably old, That meant that the Zebra would be much slower than the others, That would make it easy for a clean, swift kill, Still following Lucifer's order's, She kept where she was, Low to the ground as she waited for the next order from him.

Lucifer crept over closer to Vivian silently. "Split it off from the others. It'll be easier when they're running, so it don't matter how much noise you make. Bite its side, claw its legs, anything to get it away. I'll hold the other ones back and drive them in the opposite direction." Lucifer said quietly enough for her to hear. He crossed in front of her and went in the direction the main part of the herd was. Lucifer waited till Vivian was in position before standing up and running forward, clawing at the sides of the ones closest to the old one. He let out a loud roar, which scared the other ones away and the old one opposite. Now it was Vivian's turn with the old one... he turned his attention on making the herd run faster so it left the old one behind. Lucifer roared again, slashing at hind legs. He jumped on the back of one Zebra, clawing it before jumping off. None of the injuries he inflicted on the others were fatal... but some of them would render the zebras like the old one they were bringing down. He was *getting them ready* for the next hunt.

She nodded at Lucifer and narrowed her eyes, When he had gone into the main part of the herd to get the younger and much stronger ones away from their target, She headed in toward the older one who was attempting to run away, She stayed a bit to its side to direct it away from the herd and to avoid its killer hind legs, She'd heard of lions getting killed because of a kick to the neck, That was going to be her. The Zebra tried to get her off of its trail but she took her teeth to its hide leg and it cried out causing it to lose direction of its herd, The Zebra was now going opposite of the herd, Unaware of its wrong direction, She was unsure if Lucifer was wanted her to kill the Zebra, She decided to wait for him for a bit longer, Keeping the Zebra from veering off track towards its herd.

Lucifer glanced over and saw the older Zebra was running the other direction. He roared one more time to make sure these zebras stayed away, then darted over to the older one. "Try to trip her up, ill go for the neck!" Lucifer growled loud enough for Vivian to hear, swiping a paw a tree the zebras legs as an attempt to trip it. He waited, getting in the perfect position to pounce. Lucifer was sure he could pounce now and bring the Zebra down... but there was a small chance it would throw him off and run away. He was pretty heavy though, and all muscle... yet he still waited for Vivian

Vivi kept quiet, Hopefully, Lucifer knew she heard him. She increased her pace and her speed seemed to accelerate as she was prepared to go for the Zebra's leg again, She parted her jaws and bit down hard on the Zebra's leg, The taste of the Zebra's Blood seemed to encourage her even more, The Zebra still kept going, Taking this to her advantage she ducked under the Zebra causing it to lose balance and fall, She just barely got out of the way, But she had injured herself attempting to get out of the way, But it wouldn't stop her, She looked around for Lucifer, The Zebra would be getting up soon, And if it did, They would risk the zebra getting away.
