.{Arya}. Arya looked up as Teufel and Kodack padded in. From the look on Teufel's face he was definetly not impressed with Kodack's help. Little did he know that Kodack's newfound protectiveness wouldn't last, all Kodack was doing was keeping him alive until the rest of the team settled down. "Nice of you to join us." She remarked to Teufel, who straight away found the furthest place away from them. Arya moved over to make space for Kodack. As the pair settled down together she murmured to him, "Jaeger admitted it. He thinks i have a chance." - .{Kodack}. "There you go then, maybe when the team heads out to tommorow you actually join us for once? You can go for him there." Kodack twisted onto his side, shooting a glance at Teufel. "We don't have to be friends but you don't have to be stubborn." He called out. The eyeroll Teufel had given had not escaped Kodack. The only reason he covered his pawprints was because of Teufel, all Kodack was doing was protecting his pride. Teufel wouldn't appreaciate Blu or Tahoe jabbing at him for hanging around him and Arya. Besides, it was an uncounscious movement, somethinghe tended to do accidently.

Teufel merely flicked his tail to show he had heard Arya, much more focused on never waking back up. Jeez, wasn't he sick of this already. "Stubborn was in the contract." he grumbled from under a pile of hay, eyes slitted barely open as he stared at the dark earth. He wouldn't actually get to sleep for a long time, but what did that matter. - Jaeger decided to sleep outside tonight, curling up under the pine. He was not fully confident that he wouldn't get attacked by Tahoe in his sleep, but he also decided if that idiot even tried, he'd show them why no one did that. About 12 seconds after he laid down, he was out like a light. - The next morning, Teufel opened his eyes slowly, only seeing darkness as his head was still buried. The first thing he felt was shock that he actually did fall asleep. Amazing. He slowly lifted his head, shaking it to rid himself of the hay. His stomach ached, and he could feel dry, crusty blood there, but the more he moved the more it was get off. His wound would heal eventually. He peered around before standing with a wince and shaking himself off, silently stalking out. It was bright and early out, the sun just peeking over the trees and lighting up the sky with beautiful colors. He passed a dog or two that was sleeping, going to the very edge of the cage and sitting down, his eyes focused on the sunrise.

Blu sensing movement cracked an eye. Seeing teufel get up and walk out of the shed she decided to go get a drink of water. Standing up and stretching she winced hot pain jolted up her shoulder with gritted teeth she shook and walked out of the shed and past teuful. When she reached the small pond and dipped her muzzle on the cool water she sighed lapping it into her mouth from a crouching position. Standing up she shook her fluffy pelt again catching sight of teufel watching the sunrise. She sat down far enough away that she wasn't very noticeable but close enough he could hear her. "I always was told purple sunrises bring snowfall " she stated from her spot in the tall grass trying to start conversation, of wasn't really to be nice Blu was far from nice it was to see how teuful acted in social situations she had already seen him snark at dogs but it was all about pack stuff not folklore tales and simple weather predictions. The deep grey painted female watched teuful closely her fur blown backwards by the light wind.

.{Kodack}. He was finally up and out of the shed. He must've woken not to long after Teufel left. Kodack was busy thinking about having a new Swing. He was used to being in charge but from what he had gathered Teufel would not have it at all. Blu had always let him take charge and make all the calls. The morning breeze ruffled his pelt, making some of his coat stick up like a porcupine. He gazed up at the sunrise, noticing how purple it seemed that morning. "They do say purple sunrises bring snowfall." He murmured to himself. It was a classic sleddog myth but the pack all knew it and they stuck to it. Kodack quietly rose to his paws and headed for the small pond for his morning drink. The water lapped around his muzzle as he drinked, its ice-cold properties waking him up. He could hear Blu trying to start a conversation with Teufel. Good luck to her. Atleast Teufel didn't hate him, not yet anyway, but it was obvious that he didn't like Blu. - .{Arya}. She slowly roused, noticing the absence of both Kodack and Teufel. The hay was somehow stuck to her backfur and all over her face. Arya drowsily raised her head and glanced around for Teufel. Either he was already up or he had left them in the night. She dropped her head back down, feeling to tired to get up just yet. She was always the one to sleep in out of the pack, Kodack and Blu were early risers but not her. Arya rolled onto her side, soaking up the warmth of the hay. As soon as she got up all the heat would vanish and she was not prepared for that. She lay there for a while longer, listening to the sounds of the pack rising before finally getting up. The sun had risen now and hung high amoungst the dark clouds. Arya looked around for Tahoe, curious about his state. If all went to plan she would be challenging Jaeger that day, out on a run if he went. If not, then during lunch after the run. Lunchtime could get tense, especially during the challenging time.

Teufel flicked an ear in Blu's direction and made a sighing noise through his nose. He did agree with what she said, at least. It was a common 'myth' in the sled dog community, but it always happened every time. He could tell she wasn't speaking to be friendly- no, he heard the calculating tone in her voice. It was something he did quite often. "Mhmm." That is why all he said was a grumbled quiet agreement, his gaze still fixed on the sunrise, not faltering. Kodack's scent drifted over to him, but they didn't come closer, so he was safe there. Overall, he just wanted a quiet morning. - Jaeger slowly opened his eyes as more pawsteps padded past, his jaws parting in a wide yawn before he blinked and slowly looked around. A chilly wind swept over his pelt, which felt amazing, but the sun was quickly warming up the area. He slowly stood and stretched, tail flicking. He felt strong and not tired, his muscles weren't sore- this was good. He needed to be in tip top shape for the challange he knew he would receive today. His gaze found Arya's for a moment before he glanced away and walked towards the water.

.{Arya}. Arya's eyes sought out Jaeger, running her gaze over him. He looked rested and in a good-headspace, which wasn't exactly great for her but it did mean that if she were to win atleast she would know that it was a fair fight. Her ears twitched in to the side, catching the sound of their musher walking into the run. Huh, it was quite early for them to go out but maybe it was snowing later that day. She made her way over to Kodack who had left from his place near Teufel and Blu to a sunny patch near some hay. - .{Kodack}. He turned to look at Arya as she approached. "I see it." He murmured before she mentioned the musher coming up. "You rest? Jaeger looks ready to fight." She nodded to him. Kodack flicked his tail onto her's briefly, "Try and win, yeah?" He grinned, trying to bring something other than silence and nerves into the conversation. "I won't be far off, i doubt Teufel will either. He'll want to see you fight, as would Tahoe." He glanced around, "Speaking of Tahoe, haven't seen him all morning."

(time skipping because I'm bored) Snow pelted down heavily on the tin roof of the dog shed. It was cold very cold the temperature had dropped from 20 degrees to -8 in just a few days. Dogs huddled together using each other as warmth. Blu refused to puppy pile with the other dogs so she lay in a corner lightly shivering her tail laying over her nose. The straw was likely going to get replaced now that it was cold again. Alaska sucked when it got cold so fast like this. The patterned female shifted remembering that they where going to be hooked up to the sled and she was going to be stuck in the back a wheel dog paired with pidgion... great This would be so fun. She lifted her head to look at the sleeping figures. -+-+- Elvis turned his flank pressed against another dogs he wasn't sure who but the warmth felt nice. It was cold but he had a thicker coat then most dogs as he was technically a wolf dog. He sniffled it had gotten so cold and he knew both Blu and probably teufel where being stubborn and sleeping alone. They would have a fun time being cold and stiff in the morning. He huffed and rolled onto his side tail thumping with the new egarness of running. Maybe just maybe he could be a pack dog instead of just a backup this Winter.

Say we carry on and message West - .{Kodack}. Kodack didn't stir, not when another dog's tail brushed him or when he was tripped over. Still. Utterly still. It was unlike him but to recover from the previous week. He'd hardly moved since the fight, allowing himself to recover. Arya had taken her shot and challenged Jaeger. She had started off strong and the both of them put up a firm fight but then Jeager must have noticed her weight shift and had gone for her stomach as she collapsed. Kodack had never seen Arya loose a fight, ever. She hadn't gotten up at first which is what sparked is panic. Jeager seemed to have thought he'd won and while he turned away she had launched for him. Arya got caught in the throat and Kodack panicked, realising she wasn't breathing. He went for Jaeger so he would drop her. In the long run both Kodack and Arya left severly hurt and Kodack had broken a silent code of not interfering in fights. - .{Arya}. It was freezing but she refused to go under the shelter. Instead she was buried in the snow, practically invisible to the world. Anything was better than going into the shelter where the rest of the team lay. Her sides were gashed and her throat bruised to the point where it hurt to speak. Arya didn't understand what had happened, she had spun to lash at Jaeger and he somehow caught her leg. She sighed as her stomach rumbled. Jaeger had been eating her food and she had no energy to fight for it. He was doing it to really tell her off for challenging him the way she had.
