Celia padded to the creek to get cattails to make bandages out of in case someone got cut or burned. The cattail reeds could be stripped apart and woven so that they turned into almost like a gauzy bandage. Celia also made salve out of some clover by letting the clover dry out in the sun and then soaking it for several months in oil. She always made salve on the first of the month, so she gathered cattails and clover. Once back at her den, she arranged the clover so it would dry and began stripping the cattails with her claws.
