Turning back to the dogs behind him, his dark brown eyes fell onto Raina. "Morning Raina," his tail swished lightly through the soft wind, and his tongue rested in his mouth with a soft pant. "You are especially energetic today." he chuckled at the younger dog, watching behind her as the musher walked off. He studied the other dogs carefully, but quietly. Bellamy knew that off season typically meant that a pair of the team dogs would be bred for a litter of prospects, and looking at the team they had, it was most certain that he would be chosen to sire the upcoming litter. He could only wonder who would be suitable to bear pups — would they try and breed June again, or test their newer dogs like Sky or Denali? Either way, he was not a fan of being used for stud. Turning back to Sky, he shook his coat a bit before turning to her. Sky was quite similar to Bellamy in a personality sense; they were both a bit timid with no desire to show an interest in the other dogs. "I slept well. And yes, it will certainly be a cake-walk compared to the competitive aspect of pulling. I don't mind the light pullwork, it keeps us in shape." Sky shivered, but not from the cold. She was built for the cold. Her breed basically LIVED in the cold. Cold was actually the thing Sky loved most, other than racing. The reason she shivered was excitement. Off-season was fun, but she was most excited for their next REAL race. ~ Bell's words broke her from her trance. "Huh? Oh, sorry." Sky said, blushing under her white fur. "I don't really mind it either, but what I'm really excited for is our next race. All the dogs! All the snow! It's just so... Exhilarating, you know?. Sorry, it probably sounds weird." Sky said. Why should she even try to talk to other dogs? She always messed up. She messed up everything. Sky sighed, and fotgot all about pulling a sled or even racing. All she was thinking about was how bad she was at social life.

"Bel, Just happy! who do you think the Master will choose to mother the pups?" Raina kept eyes on the deer her tail thudding slightly. "Sky have you ever had pups?" Raina tilted her head and panted slightly. *** She looked over and around the team. *Wow! I love it here!* she thought as her tail picked up speed. She looked over at June. She was the first dog to make Raina feel at home when she was just a 8 weeks old. Two years flew by but over time June became more of a mother figure to Raina than anything. Looking behind her between Bellamy and Sky she looked at Raina enjoying the extra attention of the musher. “You know we swim every off season when it’s warm.” Scratching her side due to her harness being a little too tight she sat down. “It helps us if we were to ever get stuck on a frozen lake during races and we were to ever fall in.” Shaking her fur back to its original state she turned to Mz. “You mister have slept enough for today.” She said, with a slight bite in her bark and rolling her eyes. “You know how important exercise is, if we didn’t have it wwe would all be fat and lazy.” Chuckling at her own joke she observed the musher finishing up all the adjustments to the gangline (or tug line). The gangline is what attaches the dogs to each other and the sled. Ok now that it was time to go, June let out a final bark to get everyone to concentrate and end their conversations as the musher yelled “mush!” And they were off to the training grounds which were located 5 miles outside of Nome towards Anchorage, Alaska.

Giving Sky several wags of his tail, he looked over towards her with a blank expression. The female seemed shy, almost like she was afraid to talk, but once she started speaking she seemed to ease up a bit and get more comfortable. "Our next race isn't for some time," he chuckled, his tail picking up a wagging pace at the thought of another race. The adrenaline, the icy Alaskan winds ruffling through his fur, the prickly cold sensation nipping at his paw pads. "I will admit though, as relaxing as the downtime gets, the racing season is very exciting." Bellamy was a working dog, having left a short stint with the police force before moving onto his career as a sled dog. He loved to work, and he needed a consistent job. Sled racing gave that to him. Turning behind him, he spotted Raina bounding with energy, her tail whacking back and forth with such speed that it could hit someone. He chuckled at the much younger dog, reminiscing on the times when he used to be so full of life. "I couldn't say, Raina. The master will choose who finds to be the best match, I'm sure. Perhaps he won't even choose two from this team. I was bred to a lovely Tamaskan from Yukon last year." he shrugged, not putting too much thought into it. Between him and himself, he was certain he would be the stud this year. Again. As the musher urged the dogs forward, Bellamy took off at comfortable sprint, keeping pace with Sky as she ran beside him. Edited at November 12, 2023 07:46 PM by Cherry Point Farms

She looked over him and tilted her head. "Do you not like being picked?" she pulled a little to hard against her harness almost loosing balance but recovering quick. "Or pups in general?" *** Soon her head thought the small thought of her being the choosen dam and her eyes went wide. *No I'm too young surely!* she assured her self and kept running her tongue blowing in the wind. Mz rolled his eyes at Junes joke, "whatever, let's just say my heart doesn't like this stuff" he said, His body already steaming, his legs began to hurt, Mz shook his head, which now felt light headed. Mz rolled his eyes, this started to happen quite recently and Mz was starting to get annoyed

"Mz??" Raina looked as he waivered. "Are you okay??"

As they race through the snowy trails, Junes keen eyes notice Mz wavering a bit in his stride. Concern washes over June but she knows she has to stay focused. With a quick glance back, June sees determination in his eyes though it wavers. “Mz talk to me how are you doing?!” She barks over the loudness of the team communicating and their paws hitting the ground. Slowing down just a bit she tries to give Mz some time to get his bearings.
