Heather Proudstorm | 21 | Eventing | Espresso Silhouette "Mystery" and Titanium "Storm" | School Horse: N/A | Pet: Toby the German Shepherd | M: Open

-Heather finished tacking the mare up in her clean dressage tack before gently grabbing hold of the reins, leading Mystery out of the barn while the colorful mare calmly walked next to her while the large shepherd comfortably followed right after the duo with his tail happily wagging whileToby panted. Heather would be carrying her riding helmet in one hand while holding the reins in the other to lead her equine partner over to the dressage arena to patiently wait for the lesson to start-

-The red brunette simply stopped her mare in the middle of the arena before flipping the reins over the Mystery's head, being careful of not accidently spooking her then she placed her foot into the stirrup before hoisting herself up, swinging her other leg over while placing herself comfortably into the seat of the saddle. Placing her other foot into the other stirrup then the young woman patiently began to wait for the others to arrive with her colorful mare while wondering of who was going to teach the lesson-

Kholo Mzi | 33 | Owner | Heather, Alex

"Mm, okay. Saturday then?......Perfect." Kholo walked haphazardly towards the barn, one shoulder raised to keep the phone in place, both hands holding a stack of flyers. Her expression was a mixture of mock-politeness and a grimace, clearly not enjoying the conversation.

Spotting Alex leaning idly against a stall door, her eyebrows leapt up. She mimed passing the papers to him and gestured urgently towards the tack room's direction. "Thank god for you!" Her voice was a soft whisper, quickly dumping the stack in his arms. "Just put these in the tack room - I really don't have time."

Kholo uncovered the phone as she walked away, breaking into a jog as she spoke. "-sorry, didn't quite catch that. I'll email you this afternoon, but I really need to fly. Yep, thanks!" She hung up on the confused caller, lithely hopping under the arena fence.

"Oh - morning Heather! Sorry about being late, I swear everything has purposefully tried to make me late!" Kholo flashed a bright smile at the young woman, watching her as she rode Mystery. "Just warm her up nicely, this cold weather might make her a bit more spooky. I'll give it five more minutes until we start, to give the others a chance to get here."

Aaron Franklin | Romeo/Diva | Hunters/Eventing | Heather, Kholo

Diva shifted excitedly as Aaron mounted, swinging his leg over as he slipped into the saddle. The blood bay mare was anxious to go, mouthing the snaffle awkwardly. The wind had hyped her up even more than usual, making her quick on her hooves and very distractable.

"C'mon, let's go girl." Aaron nudged her into a high-stepping walk, gathering the reins as she spooked at a leaf in the breeze. "We're late, remember?" His voice was icily pointed; Diva had decided earlier that morning that having him chase her around the field was actually an enjoyable pasttime. "C'm."

After a few minutes of wrestling with her to enter the 'terrifying' arena gate, Aaron finally managed to get her through, albeit at a spooked canter. The mare danced apprehensively once he brought her back to a halt, her head arched high.

"G'morning, apologies for being late." He nodded to Kholo, before glancing over at the other rider in the ring. A spark of recognition ran through his eyes as he remembered the woman from the previous day, raising his left hand in a slight wave.

Diva took advantage of her rider's lapse in concentration, throwing a playful buck to the wind. Not the best way to create a good second impression, Franklin. He clutched her mane while he quickly shortened the reins, half-halting her as he massaged her neck. "Easy, girl. Just you and me, it's okay. No need to freak out. Shhh, Diva."

Heather Proudstorm | 21 | Eventer | Espresso Silhouette "Mystery" and Titanium "Storm" | School Horse: N/A | Pet: Toby the German Shepherd | M: Kholo, Aaron

-Heather looked over at Kholo and gave the woman a kind but warming smile, gently patting her mare's neck- "Oh - Morning, Ms. Kholo and It's alright. I honestly don't mind the wait, I'm kinda not the early bird myself" -she softly joked to hopefully lighten things up then the red brunette starts warming up Mystery into a walk while keeping a listening ear for any instructions. Mystery's silver tail was certainly going as the nervous mare started throwing her head a bit in a spooky kind of manner because of the cold wind- "Easy girl, your alright" -The young woman softly cooed to her mount while continuing their warm up-

-After a while, it took the young woman to notice the other rider while keeping the mare at a calm walk. Recognizing the rider that she met before at the pasture when she went to go get Storm, she gave a friendly smile with a small wave, obviously meaning hello then she retrained her focus back onto her horse as Mystery held her head kinda high in a nervous manner, kinda spooking a bit when she saw the other horse buck but Heather managed to calm her colorful mare back down a bit, she gently squeezed the mare's sides a bit as Mystery gladly moved up to a trot-

Audrey Voss || 19 ||
Audrey awoke to the sound of horses and people getting ready to ride the next morning. The alcohol from last night was hitting her hard with a terrible headache. She groaned and pulled herself up. She brushed herself off and got Royals feed ready for the morning. When she got to her room she changed into a fresh pair of grey breeches and a burgundy top. Before heading back out the door to go get Royal ready to ride she took some medications for the hangover. " Not a smart idea" she muttered to herself.

Royal was standing calmly in the cross ties all tacked up in her jumping tack. Audrey led the mare out of the barn and climbed into the saddle. The pair made their way out to the closest indoor arena. Audrey halted Royal when she saw the man on the ground clutching his stomach. There was a big horse standing sniffing the ground next to him.
"Are you you okay?" She called out to the man on the ground. Audrey pat Royals warm neck before sliding off and letting herself into the arena. She led the bay to the middle and leaned over. "Do I need to call an ambulance?" She asked the man.

(I love Livvie so much xD )
.
Zander.
.
The raven-haired figure had shifted slightly from his stance as quick, bubbly footfall entered the barn aisle - quickly followed by an enthusiastic stream of words. It took a few moments for him to register the whole arrival of Livvie, before long offering a a slight smile and watching Mickey with slight adoration. She was spot on,he was 'cute'.
.
"More of a loan..I guess."
.
He paused as she burst out with more words,Unable to stop the amusement spreading over his features and the slight chuckle that escaped his lips.An eyebrow arched over one eye,as both watched the young woman inquisitively and an instant warmness.
.
"Irish Sport Horse I believe - Although with all this weight hes put on you wouldn't be wrong to think of him as a cob huh?"
.
He watched the chestnut give a good natured nicker and out stretch his muzzle to Livvie,so blissfully unaware of Zander's comment.Zander loved the way Mickey was so easy going and quiet, unfazed by whatever was thrown at them.In fact both horse and rider were so mirrored in ways in was unbelievable, emitting the same calm aura in a nearly fictional manner. It was insane, for him at least in how little time he could already feel so trusting of his new mount, and how willing He was to oblige. His adoring eyes flicked back to the hallway where the group had now tripled in size, and Livvie was now estatically greeting someone else.
He remained rather quiet during the introduction, letting them do their introducing as his fingers fiddled with a piece of Mickey's mane, contemplating when to pull it back to a suitable length as the strands danced through his hand.
.
"Sounds like exactly what I need this morning."
.
He offered cheerily to the ride offer,Still not really fully turning his attention to the group other than a quick friendly glance - rather letting his thoughts drift away elsewhere on his school Mount's whereabouts.

Timothy Blue .
.
[Tim] What on earth was he doing?I wouldn't think Laurence to be the type.Reckless I mean.Great news about Cam though,Although I'm sure he may wish to stay for the food over yours ;P
[Tim] I'm not 100% on what actually happened and what I imagined.Do you remember snow or no?Riding sounds like an amazing idea Em,I know the perfect Colt to start you on.. Lol.
.
The blonde finished texting with a stupid smile across his features, waiting a few moments in thought as he leant against Dewdays door to zone back into reality. He then froze momentarily,Unable to jump even as he hastily put the phone into his pocket, utterly failing to try remain collected as he realised a figure was stood not too far in front of him,the unimpressed look across her face all too familiar,
.
"Jeez - Raised by lions or something Sam.Stalking your damn prey?"
.
'I think of them more as vultures actually.'
.
The strawberry blonde dead panned, her eyes watching him with a put on boredom.Tim knew from a glance now that beneath that visage she liked to put on something was wrong,he could see the unease in her gaze and the uncomfortable nature of her stance.Still he knew better than to ask by now, instead continuing about his morning chores as she tagged along - occasionally handing her random bits and instructing her on tasks.Sam was always happy enough to stand and watch, most taking that as stuck up naturally but he saw it as more fear driven. He saw right to her vulnerability of never wanting to be incorrect,be on the wrong foot or interfere where she wasn't needed. It was just an instilled thing for her to be independent - so instinctive aid was not a first thought. It was always funny to him,How such a young woman could be so complex and layered - So torn off from the world and yet relatable in so many ways to himself. He wondered if that was why the pair just seemed to toddle around together at times, more often than not in dry sarcasm or complete silence.
It was like that now,as they walked toward the outdoor arenas to set up for his next lesson, the silence between them neither sour or awkward - in a way a truce of understanding. Both needed to say nothing to simply feel at ease, just enjoy being in the company of someone. It was nice to not feel obliged to speak as he did with most,a task he found excruciatingly painful at best.As they turning the corner, both seemed to drop a stride - Tim taking a few moments before breaking into a jog and heading straight for the gate. With every moment the figure lay on the floor, his stride became quicker and his breathing a little more thin. The way Angel stood over him so quietly made his stomach turn - despite the stallion's reputation. His fingers fiddled with the latch, his eyes lifting from it to see Sam had already easily slid herself through the fence rails and was now pacing across the sand to them.By the time he caught up,The young woman was knelt to the side of Laurence, one eye watching the stallion uneasily.
.
"I've never seen you move so fast - Laurence what on earth are you doing? Were you riding just now?'Cuz I can guarantee the doctors did not prescribe that as recovery.."
.
Tim couldn't help but scold him just a little sarcastically, watching Sam holding back from gushing over him.He could see the confusion building over her face, maybe a hint of frustration at being in the dark.
'What Doctors - Can you get up?Shouldn't we get Kholo?- Did you fall?Laurence.. Tim?- Im confused what have i missed - What hurts exactly.."
The blonde watched the young woman study his face, her expression melting away to complete worry and paling slightly.Laurence was a sickly colour by now too ,utterly lifeless in tone but thankfully still moving in pain.If you could say that.
"I'm going to go take Angel in and find a little help - Can you manage."
He watched her offer a bleak nod, before turning the stallion and quietly moving him out the arena.Never a quiet day at this place - Certainly not when things had been going so well on the night before..

Laurence + Em / Sam + Tim

[there are so many quotable things in your last post Flip I can't even LOOOLLL]

Laurence felt utterly frozen in demeanor as well as quite literally, due to the pain radiating so strongly from his system he couldn't even tell its origin. He felt as if he had a rope on one hand pulling him towards his past, telling him he was predestined to be his father, to be a lowlife, a nothing, a drunk. One the other hand another rope was pulling him towards the future at lightning speed. He saw admiration, adoration, and affection at every turn here. He had all the tools he required to become an extremely successful dressage trainer or rider, and a head on his shoulders that reminded him that he was nothing like his family, that he had nothing to do with them, that he had done right for everyone by leaving them in his past and focusing on his present and future.

Both of these metaphorical ropes pulled him tighter than he thought possible, as if he were crucified to a cross made of his own life choices--his pride, his shame, his guilt, his happiness. All of it got him nowhere but stuck, nowhere but here, half of him crawling back into his past self--a place he'd sworn he'd never go back to--and half of him sprinting towards a future he could almost grasp. He felt absolutely hopeless, and the physical reality of being paralyzed with pain did not seem to help matters. Of course, neither did Sam.

He heard Tim's voice before he felt Sam's presence hovering over him. The Brit's voice held an unsuspecting undertone, a certain nonchalance that was not often displayed. Typically, he was very anxious and fearful of the unknown, or so Laurence had concluded. He didn't mind Tim, but he preferred when Emily was in their company--she created a balance, a peace that was inviting, that reassured both Tim and Laurence. That would have been greatly desired in that moment.

Though she was with him, Laurence felt a certain tension, a stiffness radiating off of Sam that made him feel even more uneasy. His mind was foggy; instinctively primal to the pain he was feeling. It left no room for thoughts of any kind, much less the complicated kind of thoughts that occurred when it came to Sam.

Back again came the struggle between old and new, past and future. Tim's words came off as more condescending and harsh than they were meant to due to the drugged, pained nature of the dressage rider's current state. He fought the instinct to create violence and rage, the same one that had won in the first place, that had both directly and indirectly gotten him here, in the sandy footing of an indoor dressage arena. He said nothing, vaguely aware of the high levels of reactivity that came as a result of the meds he'd been put on. No one had been there to advocate for him, as per usual, and no one would be. The more he lived, the less he wanted an advocate, anyway. He had grown acquainted to his lifestyle of independence, and he had learned to associate his isolation from love, from affection, from the basic desires of the human heart with happiness, with peace, with fruitfulness. And now here Sam was, ruining both of the illusions that allowed him to sleep at night.

"Don't touch me," he begged. He was shivering for one reason or another, and he choked up blood when he spoke. His arms were crossed over him, hugging himself as if to keep warm, and his tone almost was almost vulnerable to the point of a sob. The blood on his hand from where he had coughed should have bothered him, but it didn't. He was generally so close to and so comfortable with the idea of death that it just seemed like the natural next step. He didn't want to fight it, he just wanted to lay in the arena sand and let his God carry him from this world into the eternity of the next, the one that didn't look like lonely nights spent white-knuckling a bottle of anything strong enough to take the pain away. One that didn't include his father calling him at all hours, trying to intimidate him, to scare him, to make him pay for crimes he didn't commit. He was simply ready for it all to be over, to give up.

"Sam," he choked on her name, bringing up slightly more blood, but not quite as much as the first string of words. "Just let me go."

(I had soooo much more to say but I didn't want to make a 2k word post LOOOLLL I figured you deserved to get a word in edgewise ;)

Ack that was so beautifully written, Woah. )
.
Samantha Starr.
.
The moment she had knelt next to him,her mind that had been racing up to that point had completely faultered in functioning.Seconds dragged past, the only sound his rasping yet shallow breathing that only seemed to emit agony and pain. There was no reassurance in his eyes - and more certainly not in his voice. It took her off guard as he meekly coughed up some words, each in a sorry for himself tone that only evoked some kind of frustration in her. What was he one about - Throwing his tantrum last night,Keeping her in the dark about whatever and then wanting to let go.No.
.
"Are you going to stop m - Shut up! Laurence for God's sake! Enough - Just be Damn quiet."
.
Her words were bitter and angry, sparked by a childish rage of not knowing what was happening or what to do about it.Her hand grasped one of his and pulled it onto her lap away from his ball of pity, not knowing what else to do but feel helpless. His skin was clammy, and yet she watched him shiver although his blood was turning to ice - her eyes avoiding the blood he seemed to be occasionally coughing up.Part of her instinctively knew the consequences if help wasn't gotten fast, even with never having to deal with this sort of thing before.
.
They sat in silence for much longer than she hoped Tim would take, slowly sinking back into herself and the self loathing thoughts whirling around her brain. This was her fault - If she hadn't made him wait outside all night,Then hed never have stormed off. They'd probably still be having cups of tea at his apartment, maybe even talking away like normal people did - It was a far fetched fantasy but enough to bring such guilt and regret it made her stomach turn. She could feel herself becoming almost numb, her limbs fading to jelly as her grip loosened on his hand.Perhaps he was right- Maybe it wasn't just him that is better off alone.
.
'Still coping?'
.
She faintly heard his calm and grounding voice tickle her eardrums, glancing up from where her eyes were fixated and now slightly misted to see Tim striding back across the arena. She shuffled her weight into the floor in a more comfortable position, using it to allow her to quickly wipe any forming tears from her eyes before he got too close. The blonde stood beside Sam for a moment, before squatting down and watching Laurence quietly,
.
"I've got to say - You pair are just trouble huh?."
.
He gave a slight chuckle to ease the tension that seemed to be clouding them before adding gently,More so to Sam than Laurence.Tim knew that the man couldnt stand hospitals, and figured if he found out too soon he would do something stupid before they got here,
.
'Ambulance is on it's way,I've let Kholo know so she should be here soon hopefully.Em is already at the hospital so He'll have a welcome party when he gets there. For the second time in 12 hours..'
.
His voice faded off again, the young woman resting herself against his frame rather uncharacteristically - rather comically almost knocking him over from the way he was perched. She liked how calm he was about all this,a grounding nature to him this morning that was so unlike Tim's usually anxiety.
.
{Private > Kholo }[Tim] Morning,If you could pop to the arena right now that would be much appreciated.Currently waiting for an Ambulance for Laurence. Cheers.
