Em + Laurence / Tim, Open

Emily had felt the buzzing of her phone and ignored it--at least the first time. She was the first to admit she could struggle to stay present with such lively energy distributed so many different places, and she earnestly wanted to enjoy the snowy night as she had failed to for so long. Yet, it kept buzzing, over and over.

No part of her wanted to check her phone. No one ever had good news between 12 and 7am, and she didn't feel well enough to play the consul or counselor tonight. In fact, it was slightly irritating that she couldn't even have one night to herself. She was a mom now, though she felt selfish claiming the role she played, and that only meant she had to split her generosity between more fragments of her lifestyle.

On top of this, she was feeling rather unwell in the oddest way. She was halfway between drunk and sober, her short-lived nap too lengthy to allow her any memories from before it, yet too woozy to have the effects of a night of drinking. She had her faculties about her enough to walk fine and maybe even drive, if that were something she would need to do, but not enough to think clearly or feel her normal sense of obligation to a conversation or a task.

She opened her phone, revealing twelve different phone calls from four different numbers and fifty-four texts. She hadn't even remembered having her phone on her until she started feeling the vibration, and message receipts dating back several hours convinced her that she had left it in the dorm when she was at the party, or 'not party,' as Tim had mentioned.

"Tim," she said once, softly. He didn't look up. Her tan eyes flickered over to his, and she noticed he looked troubled, his mind was elsewhere.

"Tim," she said again, trying to get his attention as any remnance of drunkenness faded, the urgency of these messages sobering her up. He seemed to concede, but she realized moments later he hadn't actually registered her words, only worked up the nerve to say what he was going to say.

It all happened so fast. Before she could say what she wanted to say, his lips were on hers. She wanted to properly enjoy the moment, but it wasn't the right timing. It was never the right timing. She broke the kiss, her arms gently looped around his neck.

"Hi," she breathed softly, her face still inches away from his. She smiled softly, saying, "what took you so long?"

Obviously it wasn't the first time Emily had been kissed. Guys fell at her feet practically daily. Yet, something about this one felt more special, despite her casual handling of it.

Yet, another buzz of her phone caused the moment to cease, Emily sharply pulling away. This text was much worse to her.

"Tim, I have to go. Camden and Laurence are in the hospital, Tristan is coming to get me."

She cupped his cheek in her hand, her eyes pleading forgiveness. "We'll sort this out tomorrow, okay? I promise. I just need to take care of this first."

In hindsight, she would have much preferred to have Tim there, but a mother only thinks about what is best for her child, not what is best for herself.

After she left Tim standing in the snow, she caught up to Tristan, who updated her on the goings-on of the evening, the one evening she had desired to take for herself.

"Appendicitis?" She stared blankly, "it's never been an issue before. He was fine this morning."

"The doctor said you can't really plan for it to rupture. It just does. One second he was sleeping peacefully and the next he woke up screaming."

"I feel so bad I wasn't there," she whispered painfully, "and I'm sorry you had to deal with it. Did you see Laurence?"

"Yeah, he actually called me while I was asleep, not that it lasted long." He chuckled. "They discharged him so he's in the waiting room waiting for news on Cam. I guess he was there, like, eight hours. Got in some car wreck and they didn't actually find him for four hours. I heard from the doctor his head is messed up, like, emotionally. I guess when they found him he was a few miles away staring blankly into space, but as far as I know there wasn't alcohol involved or anything of the sort. Which is really worse, in my opinion. They think he just got shaken up because his car hit some ice and crashed, but that guy could survive an explosion with a smile on his face. Something isn't right."

"He hasn't been in a good place lately," she conceded, "family drama and Sam being gone. If I were to guess, I'd say there's something that triggered him, probably Sam or dad related. Either way, I'm scared to see what it does to him. He's the kind of guy that doesn't snap until he does, and then he never goes back to the way he was..."

Timothy / M: Em,Open.
.
The warmth of his little abode was a welcome feeling as Tim wandered rather aimlessly into it and changed for bed.He was in a daze to say the least, and his mind already diluted by the ever present alcohol in his system was cheerily dancing around from thought to thought. The blonde was unable to focus fully on anything, especially not his pre-slumber routine.Wasnt it just insane how one little moment could change everything? All of a sudden his life had purpose,a brightness to the monotony that part of him knew could only mean one thing. He was in much too deep.
*
It was 9am by the time Tim woke again, having persuaded himself to finally manoeuvre out from under the sheets and go make himself a brew.It wasn't until he had written a message into his phone that his head fully began to ache, and that he couldn't recall a huge amount of the prior night's events.
.
[Timothy] {Private /Em} Morning, How are they doing? How bad were they last night?
.
With a rub of his forehead, and a few paracetamol tablets later the blonde was functioning enough to tidy up the multitude of bottles in the dining room. How either of them had actually consumed so much alcohol was beyond him - But not unwelcome to reoccure in the future.

Samantha Starr / Mickey / M: Open.
.
Disgust. There was dirt and melting snow littering the ground all around her as she woke, and it didn't matter how much she moved her eyes, shut them, squinted them.It was still there. All over her.
Her nose wrinkled as Sam lifted herself off of the floor and readjusted the coat that was shrugged haphazardly over her shoulders. She was however thankful for the huge chunk of material cast over herself, incredibly sure that if she hadn't had it her already fragile being may have shattered with frostbite. It took her a while to come to terms as to why she was even out here, laying in the freezing cold and once she had her eyebrows furrowed tightly, her expression tainted by frustration - yet pinched by unease.
The whole centre was quiet, eerily so too.As she approached,it looked desolate and it sent a shudder through her body.Sam didn't know if it was simply the cold setting into her bones, but nevertheless it sent a horrid feeling through her that riddled each limb with worry.Where was everyone.Still,a few people mulling around was a welcome sight, her eyes wide and a little bewildered as Sam mustered up the courage to say something.Dont be needy - No need to act worried..
.
"Where is everyone?Did I miss something?"
.
She demanded, her expression fairly blank and uninterested. But Sam couldnt seem to gain the momentum to cross her arms, judge or irritate anyone further. The strawberry-blonde played a little more attention to the person who responded than she might of usually, watching them without distane.
.
"Where's Laurence - Do you know?"
.
It came out from her lips before she had time to think, time to scold herself for allowing feelings to take over her image. Her eyes shut momentarily as Sam cursed mentally, adding just as quickly,
.
" I just needed to talk to him about Dressage.. - stuff."
.
.
(Left the table open to whomever wants to deal with a tired, soon to be Emotionally conflicted and irritable when she finds out what he did, Sam.Good Luck? Lmao xD )

Heather Proudstorm | 21 | Eventing | Espresso Silhouette "Mystery" and Titanium "Storm" | School Horse: N/A | Pet: Toby the German Shepherd | M: Open

-Heather would be in the barn, hiding in one of the wash stalls with Mystery as the red brunette would be brushing the mare's colorful coat with a soft brush while her mind wondered to somewhere else in her thoughts. The young woman would be already in her riding clothes but her flannel jacket would be buttoned up even though she always wears a black tank top underneath it, she kept the sleeves of her jacket rolled up a bit, only revealing the two tattoos on both of her wrists since she didn't have her riding gloves on yet. The tack would be sitting still on the left side of the wash stall, once she was finally done brushing the mare down, she went on to cleaning her hooves with a hoof pick while Toby would be laying down comfortably next to the wash stall that his owner is in, soon laying his head down on his front paws while watching everything around them-

-Heather would have her earbuds in while finishing up on cleaning Mystery's hooves, she had her hair up in a neat ponytail then she placed the hoof pick away in the grooming box kit. She grabs her white dressage saddle pad before gently putting it onto the mare's withers then slides the saddle pad down onto her back, Next she grabbed her black dressage saddle with gold trim details on the saddle. Grabbing a step stool as she carefully stood on top of the small stool before gently placing the saddle onto Mystery's back, quietly humming to a song that she was listening to on her phone then she stepped down from the stool, moving it out of the way before she started tightening the girth, constantly checking it time to time to make sure that it wasn't either to loose or to tight as she was getting her horse ready for the dressage lesson-

Zander / M: Open.
.
It was a crisp and bright morning by the time the sun had risen over the barn, and by the time Zander had rolled out of bed and into it.The young man had stuffed his wild hair under his overused cheesecutter cap,the edges threadbare and raw - yet coated with a certain adoration by the way it was placed onto his head.It held a certain pride for him,he decided as his hand adjusted it back into place, offering a silent curt nod to a passerby before entering Mickey's stall. The gelding was quietly dozing away,The ravenhaired man tickling his drooping lip with a chuckle before taking a curry comb off the side and working away at his coat.
He spoke gently all the while as he moved over every part of the chestnut's body, admiringly stroking away as continued to sleep away - thinking of whatever horses do.
.
"Awfully quiet isn't it lad?I'm thinking a little Dressage work this morning - then if you still have it in the tank maybe another hack out to the Cross Country course..Although I dare say it'll be too wet with this snow melting for any jumping.."
.
The chestnut offered a gently huff of acknowledgement, his stomach rumbling in some form of conversation that Zander couldnt help but give a stream of chuckles at.His eyes were warm and at ease, the kind of aura only developed by true love of these animals.

Olivia Lancewood | Tyler, Zander

[Livvie] ohmigosh ty Oasis is aDORable. let me know when ya want to ride, im out by 1 of the barns.

[Livvie] okay but so is Zeus, he's this bay oldnburg , very very pretty.

[Livvie] I think im lost lol. this place is gigantic, they have like twenty million barns. still need to find Cirrus.

[Livvie] ooh wait there's a guy hanging here maybe he'll know. hopefully lol.

[Livvie] but say when you're ready. I've been up since like four xD

--------------------

Olivia walked energetically down the barn aisle, her steps short and punchy. Her hair was loosely restrained in a pony tail, although at least a third had already escaped the hair tie. Her freckles were highlighted by the icy air, her nose and cheeks rosy.

"Ooh that's a such a cute chestnut!!!" Her sudden exclamation clearly startled the horse in question, its head quickly lifting. "Is he yours?" She spun on her heel to face the young man inside the stall, her green eyes excitedly bright.

"I'm Livvie, d'you know which barn this is? I'm sort of lo- well, more like I'm definitely lost, but I'm not bothering with that. This place is huge though? I've been wandering since like before sunrise and I still can't figure it out. What's your name? I'm Li- wait I already said that. I did, right? Anyways!" She tumbled into exhilarated silence, leaning forward on the stall wall.

She watched the black-haired man silently for a few minutes, her eyes squinted in concentration. "...I've been trying to figure out your horse's breed for ages and I still can't!" One eye opened inquisitively, quickly followed by its partner. "What is he?"

[I freaking hate this piece xD Just try survive when reading it lol.]

I'm over here because I'm working on a palette LOL, disregard which account I'm posting from :D

T^2 / Liv, Zander

Tyler awoke late the next morning, still feeling as if he could have slept for another two days given the lack of sleep he'd been receiving for the past week. Thankfully he had remembered to turn his phone on silent, or the long string of messages from his favorite person would have disturbed his slumber. He checked the receipts and realized she'd only sent them minutes prior, however, and wondered if it was some kind of telepathy. He liked to think it was.

Slipping on a pair of wrinkled white breeches and a shabby sweater that seemed to have years of use, he avoided pitying himself by looking in the mirror. He knew he had a fraction of the clothing, of the money, of the opportunities everyone else here had, but he hoped he had the talent to keep up. That was the only hope he was clinging to as he dreamed of sponsorships and connections that could get him the opportunities that everyone else seemed to have. Dreaming of winning competitions and making a name for himself, Tyler slipped his paddock boots and black winter jacket on, noticing immediately the slush that had accrued on the ground overnight. It was odd, the weather here. It had dropped into the twenties overnight, and today's high temperature was in the mid-seventies. He didn't really understand Virginia.

He was brought out of his reverie by the abrupt placement of a melting snowball on the back of his jacket. A blonde who he swore was sunshine incarnate stood cheerily, eyes radiating happiness.

"Snow!" She exclaimed, as if explaining it to him. "I am Thérèse, we are friends?"

He threw one back half-heartedly, on a mission to find the other ray of sunshine, the one he was looking forward to seeing.

"Yeah, sure. I'm Tyler. Do you know where the boarding barns are?"

She nodded enthusiastically, as if her enthusiasm would make up for her lack of knowledge of the english language.

"I come too, I wanted to see not my horse, okay?"

A little confused but comforted by her warmth, Tyler nodded. "Sure, let's go see 'not your horse.'"

A little while later, Thérèse and Tyler ended up finding Livvie with a young man neither recognized. They glanced at each other, now well-aquainted friends, and then back to Zander, as if confirming neither knew him.

"Hey Livvie," he smiled meekly, glancing over at Zander. He seemed much closer to Thérèse's age, which was oddly comforting. He wasn't possessive of Livvie, but protective.

"More friends," the blonde exclaimed happily, "names? I am Thérèse!"

I feel like even Kholo doesn't know about Laurence yet so I just left your Sam post be, Flip <3 Feel free to cause chaos though!))

Laurence / Open

Laurence let out an agonized grunt as he led Angel through a series of sloppily beautiful piaffes. If the rider wasn't so crippled, they would have been unusually flawless despite time off for both horse and rider. It was oddly comforting that this was their worst, considering that the show was in six days and they had very little time to get from one extreme to another.

Laurence flexed his core muscles asking Angel to collect his canter but audibly cried out, an intense pain shooting up at him even with the pain medications still in his system. They had stopped the mild internal bleeding, but bruising and swelling remained and would remain for days, if not weeks, after. The only thing that was keeping him stable on his mount and not doubled over in pain was his natural balance and the rare kindness of his mount, who certainly lived up to his name. Laurence was grateful to have Angel as his partner. If he didn't, he would be trying diligently to get out of his responsibility to this team.

Frankly, he didn't know why Kholo had asked him. Maybe it came out of a place of pity, maybe of desperation. He didn't find himself to be the rising star everyone else seemed to. Of course, he struggled with self-confidence and had his entire life, but he felt as if everyone around him knew something he didn't. It was almost frustrating being looked up to as a rider and a trainer when all he could do was bring himself down.

After a particularly painful flying change, Laurence brought Angel to an abrupt halt, getting off slowly, groaning again, and falling in the sand, nearly vomiting in pain. Angel stood patiently, dark eyes holding a kind, inquisitive gaze as Laurence just laid there in the sand. He couldn't help but thinking that this was with the pain meds, and he would have to find a way to survive without them in mere hours. He could barely move from his fetal position on the ground, let alone fix a meal or get himself anything he may need.

Em / Tim

[Emily]: hi!!! you actually remember something about last night?? good for you!!

[Emily]: looooolll, what even HAPPENED?? I vaguely remember being with you, but I BLACKED. OUT.

[Emily]: anyway, enough about me!! Poor Laurence, he was really bad. I mean, really bad. Tristan brought him home around 4am, he had like a full on panic attack in the hospital and demanded they let him go. He had some internal bleeding and heavy bruising and maybe even a sprain or two, but he just couldn't stay there, he was panicking so bad.

[Emily]: Cam is another story <3 He got his appendix out and is still passed out in the hospital bed, the doc said it went as well as it possibly could and he'll be released sometime today :)

[Emily]: So what DO you remember about last night? I don't remember what happened, just how it made me feel.

[Emily]: Also, I'm thinking about picking up riding again. It's a lot to consider but maybe it's time. I'm going to talk to Kholo later today and find out about the therapeutic riding program. But you know me best. What are your thoughts?

(i don't know how this entire post turned into Emily dialogue but I have no inspiration to write her being stuck in a hospital room so this is what's happening LOL.)

Olivia Lancewood | 16 | Tyler, Zander

Olivia hugged Tyler viciously, squeezing his gangly frame with as much force as she had. "I thought you were never getting up! Come on, I found someone new." She glanced up at him, her face bursting into a mischievous grin. ""

Livvie's eyes lit up even more when she recognized the accented blonde, jumping slightly in excitement. "Ooh ooh I know you! We're roomies, remember? Sorry I was so antisocial last night, jetlag makes me tired, it's strange. But that doesn't matter! Look Ty, I made a new friend!" She grinned as if this was a rare occurence, clearly looking for approval from her friend.

The Irish teen showed off Zander proudly, her dimples showing. "His name's Zander, I found him when I was getting lost." She halted briefly, before slipping into her usual cascade again. "Tyler Zander, Zander Ty. Now you all know each other!" She bounced from person to person, motioning wildly as she mentioned each one's name.

"This is going to be so much fun!-" Olivia paused suddenly, her eyes widening as she squared her shoulders to Therese (sorry my keyboard doesn't have the special characters lol). "Ohmigosh I just had an amazing idea! We should all go on a nice ride together!" Turning to Tyler now, she carried on animatedly. "Ty 'cause you know we were going to go on a ride already. We can bring along our new friends!" She naturally took ownership of Zander and Therese, because of course you're a friend after exchanging names.
