Deliah shrugged at his question. "Not really. I guess you were just like that. But everyone has their own little quirks. Maybe a squirrel hit you on the head when you were a cub," she joked. Then she instantly regretted it. She could feel how upset Scar was. She dipped her head. "Sorry, I didn't mean anything rude." Then she walked off. ~ Flutter watched the whole scene between Scar and Deliah. Then Scar returned away. Flutter thought about it silently. Maybe he felt lonely. He didn't seem to have many close friends. Flutter walked up to him and sat down, watching the pack. "You okay? You look upset. Are you... alright?" Flutter asked, still facing ahead at the trees. Flutter saw a little magpie fly away. She tilted her head, wondering what it would be like to fly...She shook her fur. Now wasn't the time to get stuck in another daydream.

Scarred Thorn Alpha Male Scar managed a small smile, shaking his head a little at Delilah's apology. "No need to apologize." He answered quietly, then lowered his head and closed his eyes again, trying to rid himself of the memories that haunted him, swirling around in his mind like they were mocking him. One in particular came to mind... Scar crouched by his mother's side, tears dripping out of his eyes. He had come back after the wolves had left, even though he vowed never to return. She was barely breathing- not dead like he had first thought. "S-scar... I-I need you t-to do s-something f-for me..." She coughed, blood trickling onto the ground. "No! No Mom you can't go! Stop I can help! Just get better!" He sobbed, his little body shaking. "You're gonna be okay! Hold on, please. Please..." He trailed off, crying, as she spoke again, her voice shaky. "S-scar I want y-you to s-start a pack... s-save others from a l-life alone..." The female took in a shaky breath. "I- l-love y-you Scar..." She breathed out her last, going limp. Scar knew he couldn't even howl in agony, for the wolves would come back. He screamed into his mother's cold fur, rain starting to fall from the sky and drip onto his pelt. "No no n-no.." He whimpered, hearing a stick crack. With a fearful glance he scrambled away, not looking back. Scar snapped out of the memory when Flutter walked over, blinking and shaking his head, trying to clear the memory. +It's not real. Just the past. Calm down+ he thought, the tip of his tail trembling slightly. "I'm... fine. Or I'll be fine." He answered quietly, staring at the ground.

Vindaria Female/Protector
Vinda looked surprised as Scar limped towards them, but as he did not speak to her, she did not attempt to intrude. Goodness, she'd bothered him enough that day, he didn't need her yacking at him more. As Deliah turned to her she gave a slight nod, seemingly willing and eager, although inwardly she groaned sightly at the idea of another patrol, and possibly a fight if the coyote turned out to be more than just one. With all she'd been through that day already.... but she pushed the selfish thoughts away and responded "Of course Deliah" she said respectfully with a slight dip of her head, glancing over to Scar as she began speaking to him. She frowned at his response. He was not fine, any wolf who knew him at all would know that. Again, the haunted look that had seared itself into her memory flashed before her eyes, and she winced at Deliah's response.
Having stayed silent during the interaction between Alpha and Beta, she felt uncertain if she should speak at all, but then Deliah was walking away, and she had been assigned to follow her. She gave one backward glance full of concern towards Scar, wishing she could think of something to say that was caring and yet respectful, but her mind came up blank. Instead she simply dipped her head slightly, then turned and loped after her Beta, just as she heard another female's voice begin addressing Scar. For an unsocial wolf, he sure got stuck in a lot of uncomfortable conversations!
Catching up with Deliah, she matched her pace, staying slightly behind her shoulder in respect to her rank. "I suppose since we don't know the direction of the scent, we should just start a basic patrol around the border until we catch it?" she asked, attempting to focus her mind on the task ahead.

(Wow... a lot has happened. So, a new member joined (Vindaria) and we are pretending she was just out on a scouting trip and just got back. But, she accidentally lured humans back. Scar noticed and led the humans awake, but he got shot. Now they are back at the camp, the same day, and Vindaria and Delilah are out on a patrol) +++ Scarred Thorn Alpha Male Scar glanced at Vindaria as the female hesitantly glanced at him and left. He did wish he wasn't the Alpha. Then he could be treated normally, or even better, not be here at all. None of the memories would have surfaced. A tiny part of his mind said two things, however, that made him know he needed to stay. 1) It was his mothers dying wish that he start a pack to help others. 2)... he didn't exactly have friendships here, but Vindaria had said she wanted him to stay. He wasn't going to run out on a resquest.

Alright thanks, any interesting relationships? xD) - Bo stretched and trotted out of his cave, he snorted and ran into the forest, the land blurred beneath him as he ran fast, Bo was the fastest wolf in the pack, but he was not the strongest or the kindest, he will admit. Bo scented a deer close, still speeding towards it, he jumped through the undergrowth in a blur, grabbing the deer by the throat, his teeth sinking in and blocking the deers airway, killing it. Bo howled, there was no chance he could get this huge doe back to camp on his own.

Deliah had been thinking about something other than the patrol entirely. A voice snapped her out of her daydreams. Vindaria had joined her. "Oh, yes. That sounds good. I think we should head towards the river first then head around the territory from there. The coyote could be there, if not prey usually gathers there. It must be hungry." She sniffed the air, trying to find the scent of blood. "I don't think it's been hunting." Silence settled over them a d Deliah didn't bother to break it. This was how she liked it. She often preferred to not really talk to others much even though she bossed them around so much. Deliah smiled at an early memory of her telling her siblings what to do. Then another one of when she recently became deputy. Deliah's head shot up as a rabbit crossed their path. Resisting the urge to catch it, she said, "The river's just here so watch out in case the coyote is here."

Iris Iris sat in her cave then she laid down with her head resting on her paws. She drifted off to sleep. A black wolf stood in front of her. He held a squirming ball of silver fur in his jaws. His cold black eyes rested on iris. A shiver ran through her body "this pup will be everything you aren't everything you will never be. You on the other hand aren't welcome here anymore.' with that he turned and left. iris tried to run after him but two other wolves held her down. (a little backstory on iris)

Bo growled and started pulling the deer back, Trian circled over his head, "you could help you know!" He barked, watching the smug bird, Bo pulled and tugged at the dead doe until his teeth hurt. Bo sat and watched the deer, he figured he would wait till somebody answered his howl, Bo tilted his head at Trian and started to whistle a sweet tune, he knew everyone in the pack thought he was a ruffian and a psyche, but he really just longed for someone, maybe he would just have to make do with company from a bird. Bo started circle breathing, keeping the tune going, watching as Trian hopped around, doing a little dance.

Vindaria Female/Protector
Vinda nodded at this sensible thought "That sounds like a good place to start" she agreed, picking up a trot to match the Beta's pace. As Deliah remained silent, she did as well, welcoming the fact that she only had to focus on moving her legs, and not attempting conversation as well. But, with the silence came thought... of the scouting trip that had been mostly uneventful, until the humans of course, and Scar... the way he'd leapt in to save her selflessly... She frowned at that thought. It had not been selfless, it had been reckless. With a frustrated shake of her head she moved her thoughts to another subject, going over all the packmates she knew were still in the pack, and those she had seen that she had not known. But then always... her thoughts would circle back to Scar, and the question. What was the memory that had caused him such pain? Of course it wasn't like on other days he was a cheerful wolf persay, but today, after that look he had flashed her, he seemed so quiet... or perhaps not quiet... or wary? Thoughtful? Scared? That was what she could not put her paw on, and it frustrated her to no end. Get a grip, Vinda, focus on the task at paw and stop attempting to solve mysteries that were never meant to be solved she lectured herself firmly, pushing all thoughts from her mind and setting her concentration on the forest around them. As such she was not surprised when the rabbit leapt into their path, even though Deliah seemed rather startled herself, jerking her head back. What thoughts had held her mind captive the past few minutes? Vinda almost growled at herself in annoyance. Why did she have to be so introspective today?! "Right" she said quickly, realizing she hadn't responded, then lifting her nose to scent the air. "I do smell a faint whiff, but it's at least a day old" she revealed.
