T'sani Mzi | 29 | R/XC | Emalee T'sani kept his eyes ahead as he replied, making sure to focus on Zeus. He didn't want a repeat of what had happened. "It isn't my usual go-to," he joked, collecting the gelding as he asked for an extended trot. A thoughtful frown fell across his face. "I'd say Hanoverian, but that's my bias. Witch is one, though her bloodlines aren't perfectly pure." He let Zeus canter a little beside the black mare, before bringing him back to a fast trot. "They're a strong, trainable breed with good paces. They can be a little slow on the course if you don't keep them in condition, but they're normally healthy horses." He laughed as Zeus tossed his head happily, losing his balance goodnaturedly. "Just a canter, 'kay." He fell into rhythm beside Emalee, the two horses syncing well. "Cross them with a Thoroughbred and they're unstoppable. That racehorse speed gives them that edge needed on the cross-country course. If you look at some of the top horses in the eventing world, most of them have some Thoroughbred in them." Edited at April 11, 2020 03:11 AM by Tanglewood

Emalee Sanders | 24 | XC/D | T'Sani Em listened then nodded. `` Thanks, cause I was thinking of checking out the next auction. I could use my own horse. Do I need to see anyone before I move them in?`` Witch looked over at the gelding and tossed her head gently. Em placed a hand by her knee and held the reins in her other hand. She pulled them back gently and the mare slowed down to a fast paced trot.

Jay is coming soon... Savannah Storm | 17 | Avatar / Mozart | Sam Savannah guided Avatar with her legs, the hackamore reins hanging loosely. Her small body on the large grey stallion looked out of proportion, but they had long since ignored others remarks. The Thoroughbred snorted gently, complying as she rode him near the cross-country course. Her straight blue hair swung as she asked for a trot, sitting it through her legs. She enjoyed bareback, but it used so many muscles she felt somewhat like bread afterwards. Still, it was worth it. Noticing a teen riding a handsome bay, Savannah raised her right hand in greeting. Avatar let out a despondent neigh to the gelding, always wanting to meet horses. "Not now, bubs," she murmured, tugging him away. "We need to work."

-groans- Jay Hernandez | 21 | NH/SJ | Victory | Dash, Judea, Athens Jay turned to glare at the young man, his anger redirected yet again. He could tell that he was making Athens uncomfortable; his gaze normally did that. Seeing him almost punch a girl earlier probably hadn't helped. Jay kept his eyes low as Dash walked over to him and snatched Victory's bridle. An unconscious sneer slipped across his already glowering face at his brother's words. "That's not what you would say usually," he replied unfeelingly, still with no eye contact. "Oh no. Big boy Dash would throw his toys out of the cot if his messy little brother swore. Too 'bad' for you, eh?"

(I'm surprised that my character hasn't directly met the brothers yet 😂) Heather Proudstorm | 20 | Eventer | Nightmare "Prince" and Espresso Silhouette "Mystery" | School Horse: WO Descendants Of Khan "Khan" | M: Kholo, Liz -Heather would have taken Prince out of his stall out of his stall since the old boy was still eagar to work as he wouldn't stop giving her the puppy dog look. She would start tacking the large gelding up in western tack which would be a almond brown western bridle with a rubber western bit attached to it, a red western saddle pad and a almond brown western saddle- -Heather would be wearing almond brown western hat, a red button shirt but two top buttons would be unbuttoned, almond brown western chaps with dark blue jeans, and almond brown western boots. T'sani Mzi | 29 | R/XC | Zeus & Witch | Emalee T'sani slowly relaxed as Zeus complied to his requests, his prosthetic legs holding on tightly. Trotting bareback on the gelding was actually almost comfortable, because of his long slow strides. "Nah, just mention it to Kholo so we can get a stall ready. Many students bring their own horses." Settling in on Zeus' s back, he watched the ground blur beneath his pounding hooves. Emalee was a nice person to ride with, what with her riding ability and how easy she was to talk to. "So. Where are you from? Never did end up asking you." He smiled lightly, glancing at the blonde beside him.

Emalee Sanders | 24 | XC/D | T'Sani `` I'll be sure to remember that. Oh.. I'm an Aussie girl who I think has lived in about 3-4 American states. Wisconsin, Flrodia, Texas and then here.`` Em told him with a small smile. She didn't mind sharing things like this. Emalee slowed Witch down to a normal trot and they continued along the more bumpy path. Witch kept looking at Zeus and when he would look at her she would quickly look back ahead. Em found this entertaining and so she laughed gently.

Dash|SJ/NH|M: Jay, Judea, Athens His brother's words released a strange fury in Dash's heart, a fury he tried so hard to control. "Oh yes, too bad for me." Violet eyes blazing, he looked up at Jay. Face flushing red with anger, he exhasperatedly let go of Victory's bridle. "Too bad that every thing I do, everything I try to do, is wasted on someeone who could care less." Seeing his brother start opening his mouth to protest, Dash cut him off. "No, Jay. You listen to me. Who is waiting at hom? Tell me. Mama, who can barely make it through each day? Father, who would drink himself into such a stupor that he'd find every reason to kill you? I thought you could calm down here, out of reach of him. Every curse, every beating I took. I was protecting you. But clearly you don't need me." Dash laughed, a mirthless, dry chuckle. " If you don't need me, I'll just let you drown in your anger and resentment and fear. Heaven for fend someone is truly kind to you." Turning to Judea, he spoke quick words to the teen. "Ride Ricki for as long as you want, just make sure you groom her and put her tack away when you're finished." Ending his instructions he exited the arena, brushing past a confused Athens. Wringing his hands, Dash let out a heavy sigh. Picking up sspeed, he started running somewhere, anywhere, away from where he currently was. Stopping once he'd reached a fairly quite spot along the forest-y road, he pulled out his phone. Looking at his lockscreen, Dash felt tears as he remembered the piggy back ride that his brother had insisted he gove him before Dash went on one of his trips for school. Sliding the screen open, Dash dialed Jay's number. It immediately went to volicemail. "Jay, I -". Stepping forward, he was so focused on his apology that he didn't see, couldn't see the speeding car before it was too late. He felt a crushing impact as the vehicle slammed into him, throwing him backward into a tree. He watched through squinted eyes as someone exited the car, franticaly calling someone, probably 911. Dash wheezed and slid down the trunk of the tree. The last thing he saw was someone kneeling next to him, feeling for a pulse. And then all went black. --------------- "Hello, is this Jay Hernandez? You are the emergency contact for Edhas Barad. He's currently in surgery. He was just in a car accident. I would advise you to come to the hospital as soon as possible." Oh boy, now to write a good enough reply >_< Jay Hernandez | 21 | Dash Jay stood in unfeeling stupor as his older brother spoke. He bit his lip slightly, drawing the blood from the tightly-knit blood vessels. Dash's words had actually hit home, for once. Avoiding eye contact yet again, he stared at the floor resolutely to make sure Dash didn't see the tears slowly welling up in his hazle eyes. Still frozen, he dismounted carefully and unfeelingly, forcefully rhythmic and textbook. He led the gelding away, losing his brother's words to Judea. Not that it mattered, anyway. They were clearly not directed at him, and he might not have listened anyhow. Unlatching the stall door with a loud click, Jay led Victory in and began untacking him steadily. The gradual movements gave away nothing of his true emotions, his face a blank mask of resignation. As he got to the stirrups, he buried his face in the brown gelding's mane. Ragged sobs erupted from him, his chest rising up and down. "Why did I say it, boy?" he whispered, tears streaming down his face. "Why?" He kicked the wall in frustration, the bang resounding through the barn. "I'm such an idiot!" He knew how Dash always helped. He knew that whenever he was in a tight spot, his brother would rush in. He knew that if he called him right now, he would probably pick up immediately and listen. He knew that the reason Dash accepted the offer to work here was to shield him from their father. He knew that if he was here, he would probably envelope Jay in a hug and make everything alright. Because that's just what he did. His phone rang suddenly, pulling him out of his daze. Standing up from where he had been lying for about half an hour, he took it out of his large pocket and answered almost hopefully, a torrent of words slipping out. "Dash, I'm sorry about the things I sa-" The next words cut him short, replacing the apology he had hoped to say. "Is this Jay Hernandez? You're the emergency contact for Ehdas Barad. He's currently in surgery. He was just hit in a car accident. I advise you to come to the hospital as soon as possible."
