Deliah - "Hey, Shotz. Come with me. We're going hunting." She added in a low whisper to Scar, "He's too young for this. I'll handle him and you can sort out the rest of the pack." Deliah turned back to the young wolf. "Well hurry up!" Her voice was full of sadness and grief. Getting things back in order or doing something useful. That was her way of dealing with things like this.

Scarred Thorn Scar nodded in agreement. "Thanks, Delilah." He mumbled back, turning to deal with the rest of the situation. "We will give Remus a proper burial, outside the camp. Anyone who needs to can mourn there. I'll start digging the hole." He said quietly, grief filtering into his voice at the last part. He hadn't personally known Remus very well, but he knew that would be hard to hear for Lupin. Scar turned and walked out of the camp, to a sunny clearing growing with wildflowers. There he started the backbreaking work of digging a grave. +++ Shotzee Shotz's eyes glazed over as the shock started to set in, but when Delilah spoke he snapped to attention. "O-okay, I'm coming." The young male answered, his white pelt that was mixed with brown splotches dark in the shadows. Shotz trotted after her, his head low but ears alert and ready.

Deliah quickly said a small goodbye to Remus then turned to Shotz. "Come on. Let's go a bit further out towards the edge of territory, there should be lots of prey there." Deliah automatically took the lead, going through the forest with confidence but she still kept her ears alert. At every movement or sound, she caught it, only to find it was just the wind. She shook her head, growling quietly to herself. "What's wrong with you!" She muttered. Deliah looked back at Shotz. "Wanna take the lead from here? Show me what you know." She sat down, silent. "And that wasn't a question, it was an order." Sure, she was being a little hard on him but it would make him a better hunter in the end. Imagine if he had nobody to tell him his mistakes! He would never realise and fix it! Edited at December 11, 2023 05:02 PM by Swirly's stable

Shotzee Shotz trotted behind Delilah, his footsteps quiet for the most part. Since he was small he had to rely on speed and stealth instead of strength, so he had gotten quite good at catching small prey because he was awesome at stalking and running after fast things. On the other hand, it was hard to live off of rabbits and squirrels forever- so he was put at a disadvantage in that way. He flicked his ears as Delilah muttered something to herself- he couldn't quite make out what it was, but it sounded harsh. When she spoke to him he opened his muth to say something and quickly snapped it shut as she spoke again. "Yes ma'am." Shotz teased slightly, his ay of deflecting the harshness. He stood dead still and lifted his nose, scenting the wind before trotting off with silent footsteps towards the smell of squirrel. Most wolves couldn't catch the small creatures because they were too fast, and always ran up a tree before anyone could get to them. Shotzee on the other hand was quick, and could sneak up closer than others due to his size and stealth expertise. As he realized he was getting closer he crouched low, his slim body disappearing in the brush. His tail held perfectly still, Shotz crep through the brush, his nose witching slightly. Completely silent pawsteps left the wind the only thing to be heard. He approached from downwind, all the squirrel's scent coming to him but none of his going to the animal. When he could see the squirrel less than 15 feet away, Shotz suddenly bounded out like a lightning bolt, his jws snapping down before the squirrel was halfway to the nearest tree.

"Impressive." She looked closely at the squirrel. "But I don't think that's going to feed anyone." Deliah looked up at the sky. It was still bright. She wondered what Scar was doing. Had he sorted everything out? "Okay. Hide that somewhere, we can pick it up later. I'm sure there's some open land further up ahead. Maybe we can find a deer or bigger prey." She moved a berry bush with her paw. A good hiding spot. Then Deliah sniffed the air. A fresher scent was carried towards her by the breeze. "Come on." She picked up the pace but not going too fast so she didn't trip over anything. Deliah sniffed the air. Prey was close by. She crouched down, low to the ground. "Right there," she whispered. "We'll creep forward then attack. Okay?"

Scarred Thorn Scar was working hard, and he was thoroughly exhausted by now. The grave was complete enough, but he wanted it a little deeper to be certain no scavenging animal would dig Remus up. His muscles ached from digging in a stooped position so long, and he was mighty hot, but it would be worth it. +++ Shotzee Shotz sat on his haunches to look at Delilah with a cocked head. "It feeds me- that's all I ever learned to do." He snorted back, grabbing the squirrel and trotting oer to the berry bush. Shotz scooped out a small hole and droped the squirrel in, nosing a little dirt back over it before creeping after the female wolf. "Okay... but I'm terrible with big prey, I'm just not strong enough." He muttered under his breath, crouching with her and slinking forward.

"I'll help, of course. I'm not mean." Deliah watched the deer hungrily. She nodded at Shotz. "Now!" Deliah shot forward and jumped onto it, her teeth snapping at its leg. ~ Flutter - Flutter decided to head back to camp now. She went back, hoping she hadn't missed Remus' burial. Flutter saw Scar digging. So she hadn't missed anything. She watched quietly for a while before speaking quietly. "Need any help?" Flutter walked up to his side and started to dig at the earth too.

Iris Iris came out of her den to watch Remus's burial. She hadn't known him but that didn't matter. He was part of the pack. She went to go look for Lupin to see how she was handling it. Plus she wanted to see the pups. Her main whish and goal in life was to be a mother. So she loved to see and be around pups. "hey lupin. You all right" Iris asked her voice soft and gentle.

Shotzee Shotz resisted a snort and crouched lower, leaping forward as Delilah told him. He immediately went for the other back leg- Shotz was low, best at slitting legs, and if that tendon was cut? The deer couldn't run away. After his initial attack he dodged a flailing hoof and nimbly leapt across the deer's back, his fangs slicing down on the animal's neck. +++ Scarred Thorn Scar was panting a little by the time, and only had about 10 minutes of work left to do when Flutter walked up. "Feel free, but you don't have to." He answered in a sort-of breathless voice, urging his shoulders to move a little more earth. After the task was completely Scar sat with a huff of air. "Thanks." He acknowledged Flutter's help, getting ready to go tell Lupin.
