Cypress licked his lips with a small huff, stepping out of the huddle of puppies and backing up very slowly. He then turned around and trotted at least 15 feet away, sitting back on his haunches witha sigh of relief. He then turned his icy blue eye and deep brown eye to the big male he had noticed before. Bellamy, he suspected? When the male introduced himself, Cypress knew he had been correct. He took a small breath in to better memorize the scent, especially since this dog would play an important role in his joking standards. He didn't want to make June mad, and by the looks of it, he didn't really want to make this guy mad either. +Bellamy would be better as an ally, for now+ Cypress concluded, dipping his head slightly in painful respect. "Nice to meet you, Bellamy. If you haven't heard already, I'm Cypress." He answered. His voice had a special tone to it that now came alive... he had a strong Russian accent. He had actually been flown to Alaska- terrifying trip- after being a sled dog in Russia. That's where he was born, but Cypress liked this place much better. At least dogs here actually seemed to care about each other. Cypress was quite pleased when it seemed at least one dog found it slightly funny he overreacted- not that he was really trying to, he was just a dramatic dog in general and he really didn't like the nippy furballs.

Raina soon took the pups back to their mushers and parents. When she came back she let out a yawn and a whine. "Pup's are cute but tiring." she shook her fur. "How do dogs just have so many litters.." Raina walked over to the new dog cypress and sniffed his fur. "You smell like a house dog." she licked her lips. "why?" *** Raina's morning hyperenergy had worn off but she was still able to run and work. "Is the musher going to put the new dogs in the back or...?" Raina had a horrid habit of cuting off her sentences like that when it came to questions but no one snapped yet. "And what about mz? will he run with us?" Bellamy's tail wagged at the sound of Cypress' voice, and his ears perked up with interest. 'A Russian,' he thought, pacing around Cypress before sitting down. "The accent, it's very distinct. Are you from Eastern Europe?" Bell cocked his head, his tail still wavering back and forth slightly with anticipation. It would have been nice to get on with another dog of similar culture. Where Bellamy was raised and trained, dogs had no room for mistakes. They didn't get to be injured, or else they didn't get to be sled dogs anymore. It was an intense way to live, but it was why Bell was as good of a sled dog as he was. Edited at November 14, 2023 10:42 AM by Cherry Point Farms

Denali watched Mz getting into the vets safely then turned and sighed after all the drama and the extra strain she had since she had to handle Mz's work pulling the sled as well ~~ Denali saw the two new males and wondered where they would go on the team, one of them looked aloof and the other a bit hyper. She shook her coat free of all the ice and snow then sat down bored.

Sky smiled back at Raina. When Raina asked if she wanted to be her friend, Sky was surprised. She almost stopped running,, but caught herself as she slowed, and came back to normal speed. "I'll think about it." Sky eventually said to Raina. ~ Sky watched everything unfold around her as two new dogs came, and Raina played with puppies. Sky often thought about joining Raina, but she still hadn't decided about being friends. Maybe, just maybe... But no. Not yet, anyway. But Raina would be so sad if she said no... Fine. She would do it. ~ Sky stood up from where she was lying and walked over to Raina. "I don't want to interrupt or anything..." Said Sky, looking at the ground, then raising her head to meet Raina's. "But I accept your offer. You know... To be friends?" Sky felt foolish saying this in front of the new dog, Cypress. She was always horrible at first impressions.

Cypress glanced around, answering snorting a little when Raina asked her first question. "In Russia I competed in races- and got severely injured. Shattered my leg. I kept running till the end of the race, somehow, before my musher decided I was useless and sold m. The plane ride over here was quite smelly, and before that I lived in a stable till the leg healed." He answered gruffly, flicking his ear and restraining a slightly annoyed expression. That was definitely the worst time of his life- pain every day wasn't the worst part, but having to stay inside for weeks. Blech. When the young female was finished speaking to him, he turned his attention back to the large male. "A little farther out- Western side of Russia, close to Eastern Europe." He answered, nodding at Bellamy's first comment. Cypress had always loved the running- he had been the lead dog on the team a year ago. When he got injured, his personality changed like a flipped pancake. He had been a mostly serious dog with a strong drive for running, although he had always had the small joking glance. After the accident, Cypress still loved running more than anything else- but he was suddenly afraid of something. Afraid he wouldn't be able to run any longer- and that made him act aloof, young, and childish sometimes. He hated being reminded of his time in the house, and hated being reminded he was 4 now. Cypress shook his coat a little, his tail twitching on the ground as he thought about, and studied, the dogs that made up his new team. All he had gotten- June, the lead dog. Bellamy, a hardened second in command. Raina, a young tempermental female (with not enough appreciation for his jokes, in his opinion), and Mz, an older dog that came back from the vet. He knew there were others, like the female laying down- if Cypress had to guess, Denali- but he hadn't spoken to any of them yet. His gaze flickered over to another female as the dog walked up and spoke to Raina. So- was she Denali? Or Sky? He didn't know yet, but probably would soon. Cypress was quite good at memorizing names, personalities, and anything important he may need to know for whatever reason. Edited at November 14, 2023 03:55 PM by Wild West Warmbloods

Mz approached the newer dogs, taking to a black/ grey one first, Mz extended his nose and sniffed at the new dog, "your name?" He asked, his voice gruff, his legs felt quite sensitive to the frozen ground

Cypress turned his gaze away from the female and to the older wolf. Mz, he thought? "Cypress." He answered, trying not to have the same tone of voice. He probably shouldn't joke around with this wolf. His tail swished over the ground as he placed it near his paws, memorizing the scent of this wolf as well as he gingerly sniffed the air. "And you're Mz, correct?" He inquired with a cock of his head.

Bellamy's tail picked up, wagging at a much faster pace now. Russia! How wonderful, he couldn't contain his excitement, but he kept himself composed. "Western Russia! That's wonderful, I'm from Northern Finland, so I suppose we're neighbours." he let out a chuckle, standing up and leaning down to stretch. He could tell the other dogs were on edge and reluctant to trust the new dogs, but Bellamy was quite pleased to have new dogs join them. They seemed like they would be a strong addition to the team, and the team did need a few more dogs anyway. He could only hope they would be able to keep up in time for the next racing season.

Cypress turned his head to Bellamy. +I'm playing ping-pong with my eyes+ He thought, his tai tip wagging a little at the other dog's excitement. At least someone didn't downright hate him already. "Ah, Finland. A great place to be- though the work is rigorous." He commented with a nod. Cypress was glad he came in the early off season... he needed to prove he could be a good teammate and a strong sled dog, but also train for the upcoming races. He hadn't run at all since his leg got shattered, which didn't fare well- but Cypress didn't expect to have any issues. He was strong and agile, and if something didn't go his way, he would make it.
