After just a short while Ares gave up on trying to stay, well, alive. If Twilin wanted to kill him she should've done it already, so he fell asleep. The next morning when he awoke to hot sunlight and pain, she wasgone and he was still alive, so he guessed he had made the okay choice. He drank a little more before standing and shaking his pelt. The dried blood was itchy, but if he rubbed it off he'd probably rub off the scabs and therefore make himself bleed more, so he just started walking back towards his cave. When he arrived he looked in surprise at the dead boar laying there. Obviously killed by a lion. He growled slightly. Most likely Farleap did this, but he didn't want her help- she was too loyal to Cyrus. She would do anything for that Mane Lion, even if it was wrong. - Cyrus had rested throughout the night, and felt much better in the morning, standing to stretch. He was relieved to find his wound was already much better. When Farleap came back he nodded in approval. "That's good." he answered, glancing back at her as she spoke again. "It wasn't all your fault, but thank you- and I understand why you did it. Mostly." He paused at some of her words. "He was in the pride?" He asked, almost sounding confused. Cyrus then looked over as Twilin came back. "She's right over there." Edited at April 9, 2024 12:53 PM by Wild West Warmbloods

Farleap lowered her head a little "Yeah but look where that got you, hurt. which was the complete opposite to what i wanted!" She said frustrated, she sighed when Cyrus asked about Ares being in the pride "Yes Cyrus! That's what i tried to tell you when you and him were fighting. That was my poor excuse for not telling you he was in your area! But," She took a deep breath "I guess you were pretty mad. You could barely even hear me" She chuckled a little. She got up and turned around when he spotted Twilin "O-Oh... Heh there she is" She said hastily leaving him and walk/trotting up to her friend "There you are Twilin!... Where were you all night?" She asked as she ate some of the Buffalo's leg Edited at April 9, 2024 01:00 PM by Hyrule_Stables

Ares stared at the food for about 30 minutes more before breaking and eating some. Leaving it there would be not only rude but wasteful. He then disappeared into the cool cave and lay down with a slight wince to lick his wounds, trying to remove the dried blood- carefully. - Cyrus sighed slightly, flicking his tail. "I'm not that badly hurt. It'll heal." He tried to reassure her, then tilted his head. "So he was part of this pride. How? When, even? How old is he!?" Cyrus mumbled the last part to himself with a snort. Actually, Ares technically only had to be about half a year older than him for that story to check out. Sounded like he needed to have a talk with a rogue. - (AGH YOU EDITED TOO LATE XD) Edited at April 9, 2024 01:11 PM by Wild West Warmbloods

(Okay, now i won't stuff up again, sorry for it though, when i checked it only showed Ares' part not Cyrus' so yeah.. hahahh) Farleap didn't say anything else about it (Just replying to the reassuring). **** She looked up to think back to what Ares had told her before answering slowly "Well... If i remember correctly, Ares said that his father used to be the Mane to this pride, that he even named this rock The Sister's Step. Though when his mother had him, being male, his father was not happy and so he threw the cub out before he was even ten weeks old... He'd been prideless ever since i guess... He told me that since i was born he'd been watching the pride from a distance, he claims that my father killed his dad, which obviously happened before you came in and killed my father. So Ares was originally the heir to this pride" Farleap tried to explain in a nutshell

(XD that's fine) - Cyrus looked a little shocked as Farleap started explaining. Each piece started fitting together. Wow. That was surprising. "Soo... what I'm getting out of this. His father was a maniac, all the Lion's I have ever met including myself are murderers, he totally should be the Mane and I have no idea why I am, and I just filleted him. Sound about right?" He winced, sitting down slowly. "That is sad though. I didn't get rudely abandoned till I was a year old." He mumbled to himself.

(Oh boyyyyyyy i cannot wait to give Hyrule her account back XD) Farleap sighed and shook her head "No not ex-.. Okay it's a tinsy tiny bit like that... Yes, his father sounds CRAZY! But the part about you and other lion's being murderers? Not so much, you know it has to be done in a challenge... Unless the rare opportunity pops up where the opposing lion runs like a coward. But otherwise, it's kill or be killed..." She tried to put it into a lighter perspective but wasn't sure if it was working. Her eyes widened a little at Cyrus' realization "Well technically since he was thrown out at such a young age, my father wouldn't of known of Ares, yes he killed the old lioness cubs, if Ares had sisters then they weren't so lucky to escape alive... But since Ares is still alive, Yes, i suppose he is in line to lead this pride..." Farleap did her best to explain, though she barely understood how the whole thing works. She shook her head "But no no no! You aren't going to hand over the pride to him are you!? Cyrus... I don't want HIM to lead this lovely place... I want YOU to be our Mane! Because... Eh, forget it. But please don't go disappearing!" Farleap begged sitting back where she was

Cyrus ducked his head with a small huff. "We may have to do it in a challenge but this way of living is stupid. Kill or be killed shouldn't be the way it goes." He growled to himself, flitting back on all the times he had hurt someone because they had done something *wrong* in the view of the *rules*. Who made those rules? Why was it kill or be killed? It didn't make sense anymore. Nothing did. "I don't even understand why we hate rogues so much anymore. I was a rogue before I managed to take over. Was I just power-hungry or did I want to help? I don't know. Ares didn't kill me when he could have. He has no existing family members, no home, no life, and now he's seriously injured because of my stupid decisions. What has this come to." He groaned, looking up at the sky as she continued speaking. "For one, no. I'm not just handing the pride over. I am going to have a lengthy conversation with him if he'll let me, though. He doesn't strike me as the kind of Lion to want to take over."
