<[Season: Late Winter, Early Spring]> ☆ [☆°]-Scylla-[°☆] She could feel the cold front roll in from the harsh mountains to the North. The mere thought about the fridged weather made her nearly recoil in disgust and hatred, not wanting to remember those long freezing nights when she went hungry, relying on her own body fat to stay alive long enough to feel the warm hug of the sun the next day. Maybe she wasn't fully built for this life, alone; lost. Scylla huffed, a light steamy cloud rose from her nostrils as she slowly made her way over a rather steep hill, pebbles moving and wriggling under the pressure of her hooves, making her nearly topple over a few times. In reality, it was only natural to trip, for her it was embarrassing despite no other eyes were watching, near or far. Once atop the hill she looked over the surrounding area before inhaling deeply, flaring her nostrils, and letting out a snort that rolled Similar to a low purr, the gravelly sound vibrated deep within her chest as she disappeared out of view behind the hill, golden coat laced with black patches intertwined and weaved with one another still trying to cling onto thick winter fur. . ☆ . °☆|Rolex|☆° With a coat of black and white clashing together near his neck and hard angry eyes he watched a golden figure disappear behind the hill side. With a annoyed face and voice he scolded himself. "Can't even keep up with stranger." . He was now visibly upset as he slowly made his way down the side of the smaller valley in the general direction of the distant figure. Not too long ago a crow came to him with a message about another joining a herd and finally coming together. The crow never gave Rolex the destination of this horse so he's been traveling to find them, which is how his obsession of visiting multiple mares developed. Maybe this horse is the one he's been looking for.. Edited at May 7, 2025 11:30 AM by Nocturnal Creatures

|-| Lilah |-| The mare's large hooves sank into the mud that seemed to be present everywhere near the creek. She lowered her head, drinking the cold yet refreshing water. - The chilly water made her feel colder, despite the thick winter coat that appeared to be hanging on. The thick coat made her look bigger than she already was. She moved away, deciding to move to the nearby clearing, hoping the warm sun would help her warm up at least a little. She found that despite the cold chill in the air, the sun's warmth helped her warm up, at least a little, and dried the mud that clung to her legs and feathers. - She lifted her head a few moments later, hearing what she assumed to be other horses nearby. She began to move closer to the noises, staying on alert in the off chance it wasn't, or they weren't all that accepting of strangers. Edited at May 7, 2025 05:36 PM by Chuckaluck Elites

[☆°]-Scylla-[°☆] Scylla quickened her pace before coming to a halt at the sight of another horse. "Hello." She said, loud enough to hear that held a stern tone to it, making her seem tougher than she really is. But her plans and thoughts changed when she got closer to the other horse. Huge was the only word Scylla could describe the stranger. The mare flicked her tail before stopping just shy of a yard away, ears forward, eyes curious, and posture cautious. "May I ask who you are?" She asked, voice softer than before. . ☆ . °☆|Rolex|☆° The stallion kept his distance, keeping himself entertained by focusing on the other horse's interactions. He liked watching. It made him feel more powerful knowing what others think and feel. It's a wonderful feeling, of course, to him it was. After a bit of stalking he finally decided to take matters into his own hands (technically hooves, but y'all get it) and began moving. Each step was extremely calm, almost careless as he moved towards the group, only to stop just barley out of sight. "Stranger might be suspicious. Keep distance." In his head, he thought that the chance of two horses approaching a loner would be too coincidental. A situation, for the larger horse, would urge on a uneasy feeling.

|-| Lilah |-| The mare slowed as the other horse came closer to her. She stopped just a moment before the blue-eyed mare had. Lilah seemed hesitant, nervous even. It had been a while since she had been around other horses, and the last encounter had her chased off into this valley. - "Uhm, hi." Came the quiet response, voice barely able to be heard over the wind that blew through the valley. Her deminor gave her the appearance of being almost smaller than she was, her head lowered, and her hind legs tucked under herself slightly.

(I'm a bit curious where everyone else is, loll) . [☆°]-Scylla-[°☆] The mare smiled when the mare spoke to her, but it soon faltered when nothing exciting happened between the two. "Anywho, as I said, who are you?" She said sternly, although there was a sort of desperation hiddend deep within her voice, as if she's desperate to know who this mare really was. She waited for a answer, swishing her long yet tangled tail. . ☆ . °☆|Rolex|☆° The stallion had heard enough before finally walking toward the other two, although, he did indeed keep his distance. Far enough to assure the other two horses that he was no threat, but close enough to continue watching.

────୨ৎ──── Eridani ؛ ଓ ────୨ৎ──── Tranquility. Serenity. Whatever one would deem the sentiments of fulfillment and inner peace, that was precisely what Eridani felt as she grazed amongst the fluctuating blades of grass and the occassional shadow cast by a fellow herd member. Her sleek coat seemed to shine beneath the sun`s harsh rays, her tail swishing to and fro to combat the pestering insects that attempted to sink into her skin; she yearned for winter to be at its climax, to avoid the heat and consequences that spring brought in addition to its undeniable beauty. Spring seemed to have a persistent loathing towards her existence, since it often was the time of the year that misfortune befalls her. It made no sense, yet she deemed it some kind of curse. She had been warned numerous times to not stray far from the herd, knowing from both her experience and from others` that dangers were far closer than one thought. They lurked in the shadows, sometimes in the disguise of another equine. No one could be trusted, only the herd; the saying was like a mantra of warning in her head as she wandered further and further. The grass here seemed almost barren, tasting oddly bitter in her mouth. She lifted her head and emitted a snort of annoyance, casting her blue eyes in the direction of the grazing horses over the hill. She knew her absence would be notice due to he herd`s somewhat small size, yet she figured her reason was reasonable. Her ears flattened as she turned away, picking up her pace from a slow, uncertain walk to a hasty trot. She focused on the hill ahead, her hooves drumming against the ground in a steady rhythm. Eridani felt a tad guilty for wandering off, but she was set on finding a better place for them to dwell. Perhaps she could find a nearby river or creek that provided the grass with sustenance; she was tired of the bland and dryness of their current grazing grounds. ────୨ৎ──── Commentary ؛ ଓ I`m here, lol. Was a bit busy, but here I am. :D Also, super sorry if this sounds rushed or something; it has been months since I`ve truly roleplayed, </3

Rolex | Rouge Stallion Kai, the red roan stud, came thunderin’ 'cross the land like he owned every inch of it. His mane whipped wild in the wind, hooves pounding the dirt, kickin’ up dust with every stride. He wasn’t in any rush, just lettin’ them strong legs stretch out, movin’ easy, feelin’ free. Then something sharp hit his nose — the thick, heavy scent of other horses. He pulled up fast, slid to a halt, dirt flyin’ all ‘round his legs. Ears flicked, head shot up, eyes darting. His nostrils flared wide, suckin’ in the air like he was tryin’ to read what it had to say. Tail twitched. Body stiff, tight like a bowstring. There was someone out there. Kai snorted low, pawed the ground once. Maybe warnin’, maybe just thinkin’. He stood tall on a rise, dry grass crunching beneath his hooves, muscles rippling under that dark red coat, shiny like wet rock in stormlight. His head turned slowly, eyes sweeping the land—one pale blue, like frostbitten sky, the other warm brown, deep like old earth. Them mismatched eyes always made others uneasy — like he saw more than most should. Wind shifted, and that’s when he caught it — him. The scent of another stallion, close now. Real close. Then he saw him — a black-and-white figure steppin’ out from above the hill. Kai’s muscles twitched, ears pinned half-back. He lifted his head higher, sucked in the wind again. Yeah… that was the one. He stomped the dirt hard. Dust curled up around his legs. His neck arched, muscles swelling like ropes under his skin. He didn’t charge, not yet. Just stood there, watchin’, waitin’. Eyes locked. Seeing what the other stud was gonna do. Kéeta | Herd Mare Kéeta moved slowly along the riverbank, quiet as a breath. Her head hung low, nose close to the dirt, taking in every scent like it might tell her where to go. The wind kicked up cold, twisting through her thin winter coat, making her skin twitch and a shiver crawl down her sides. She came to a stop, muzzle droppin’ to the water. Took a long drink, the river like ice slidin’ down her throat. Cold enough to sting. Still, she drank deep, filling her belly before movin’ on. She’d heard things. Whispers, not from anyone in particular — just the kind that travel on wind and hooves. Talk of a herd bein’ built somewhere out in the valley… maybe a field. She didn’t know for sure. But it didn’t matter none. What mattered was keepin’ her legs movin’. So she did. The ground turned rough under her hooves, soft mud giving way to patches of frozen earth and brittle grass. Kéeta moved carefully, picking her steps through the brush. Her ears twitched, turning to every sound — a crow’s cry, the snap of a twig, the hush of wind sliding through bare trees. She ain’t seen another soul in days. Her belly growled low, a dull ache she’d grown used to. There wasn’t much to eat this far out, just what little scrub she could find and the memory of greener days. Still, she kept movin’. The sky was turning gray, clouds thick like old wool hanging heavy. Snow wasn’t far behind; she could feel it deep in her bones. Then she heard it. Not loud, not clear. But there — faint hoofbeats, carried soft on the wind. Her head snapped up, ears forward, nostrils flaring. She stood still, heart thumping hard in her chest. A scent drifted to her, fresh and warm — horses. More than one. Her legs moved without thinking. Not fast, just steady, sure. Toward the sound, toward the smell, toward what might be real or might be nothin’. But somethin’ in her gut told her to go. The trees thinned ahead, giving way to open land, low hills, and frost-covered grass. (Sorry everyone! Been super busy with all the holiday and work!)

|-|Lilah|-| The dark maned mare seemed to have only now registered that she'd been asked a question a moment ago, ears swivelling back and forward quickly. "Sorry," the stocky mare began. She felt the need to apologize, her voice a hair louder than before, weight shifting from leg to leg anxiously. - She then continued, "Lilah, and you?" The mare answered in that same soft tone from before. The name seemed to match her voice, soft and gentle. It was a stark contrast to her appearance, a large mare who looked like they could easily push around any horse in her path, even with the obvious hunger that seemed to claw at her, like every other horse this time of year. A bit of rib showing on her sides, only covered by the scraggly winter coat. - COMPLETELY forgot about this. I got sick and didn't remember to reply after AAAA

(Ayyy!) . [☆°]-Scylla-[°☆] Scylla's smile came back when when she heard Lilah speak. A flash of a strange look was painted on her face, borderline childish, but it was gone as soon as it showed. "Scylla." The mare spoke, now noticing the uneasiness Lilah gave off, although, it was almost entirely from Scylla herself. "You good?" She asked, blue eyes raking over the coat of the other mare; rough, slightly skinny, yet filled out. Hell, Scylla thought that winter was rough for her, Lilah kinda made her realize how rough it really could be for others. The almost palomino mare opened her mouth to speak, until a scent filled her nostrils. One smelled sweeter than the rest, another was well blended, while the other smelled of something rather unappealing to the nose, which Scylla promptly recoiled. "Disgusting!" She gagged playfully before she decided to slowly move away from the area, pausing patiently for Lilah. . ☆ . °☆|Rolex|☆° The Black and white stallion pinned his ears when he was approached. His nostrils flared, his stranged eyes filled to the brim with a certain rage, and his body tense, yet, he didn't move. His eyes bore back at the roan, until he huffed and finally moved... In the opposite direction, parallel to the two mares he was previously watching (complete weirdo, lol). The light clicking, kicking of small pebbles, and rather loud stomps were a obvious sign of his anger. "Not worth the trouble. " He called over his shoulder as his flicked his tail. As the other continued walking he gave clear signs that he want a small fight, but never acted upon the impulse.
