I spent most of the summer of '24 working on her mane/tail with conditioners to get all the dead skin build up off. She started on flax seed around the same time and she's finally getting 'greasy' feeling in her mane.

She gets special mineral blocks with sulfur and the flax seed helps with the allergic reaction, thankfully.

Well I made it a little way down the road before my car went sideways lol I guess im calling in for work because there's no way im making it 45 minutes to work with this ice on the road. There's already been an accident 😬

Her mane/tail would break off because of her dry her skin was. Her skin was super itchy and she'd just rub herself on everything.

03:35:35 Void Malign
The biggest being she has dry/sensitive skin and has major fly bite allergies. Luckily, putting her on a heavy dose of flax seed has largely solved the skin issue

Oh like what Void? Genuinely curious- I've also never encountered a spayed one

Like I said earlier. I have never met a spayed mare. I've worked in the horse world for years in many different programs. Never met one

I don't really recommend it unless your horse has other complications

Like, I have to manage all sorts of micro-issues that Oklahoma has from being spayed.

its only done for medical reasons and you'd have to find a vet who has the equipment and know how...as with any specialized procedure

Moose pads warily onto a new packs territory, inhaling deeply and scenting the air for information about the wolves. He smells blood, prey and an injured male alpha. He edges closer onto the territory before sitting back on his haunches and letting out a loud, echoing howl that asks for permission to come closer and speak to the Alpha of the pack. He then lays down and waits to see if he'll get a reply.

Scarred Thorn
Alpha Male
+++
Scar perked his ears as he heard a long, low howl, his hackles lifting as he scented the air. "Delightful. Another one." He grumbled, stretching out his neck before responding with a commanding, dominant howl of his own, clearly stating he was the Alpha but that the other male could come closer.

Moose's ears perk up at the sound of a reply after waiting for a bit. He gets to his feet and runs about three-fourths of the way before slowing to a fast walk. Once he comes into view of the camp, he slows even further, looking around in wonder. As soon as he sights the Alpha, he shrinks in on himself as best as he can -which looks funny as he is enormous-and keeps his head lowered, not looking him in the eye, almost belly crawling. Once in front of him, he lays down and waits for the other male to speak as he is the outsider.

Vindaria
Female Protector

Vinda met Scar's glance, then looked back to the dog, waiting for the nervous creature to make a response. Until suddenly a loud yet submissive howl wavered through the trees. A growl sprang unbidden to her throat as her fur bristled. Another outsider? What was this, adoption day? Scar's grumbling response to the howl perfectly mirrored her own feelings. His deep, powerful howl seemed to vibrate into the very earth as it sprung from his jaws, bidding the other male closer. Vinda kept a strong wary stance by Scar's shoulder as she scented the male's approach, and soon caught sight of him emerging from the forests edge. He was a large wolf, from what she could tell, despite his obvious attempt at making himself look small. At least he had respect though, and knew better than to approach at the same level as Scar. The wolf's gaze was averted, as he crawled towards them before laying at Scar's feet, silent. His entire mannerism seemed submissive... but still Vinda couldn't help feeling on the defensive. Two new outsiders before them, and they knew nothing about either one.

Moose's gaze catches Vinda's figure and silently studies her and her posture, trying to get a read on her. He tries to keep himself small and as unobtrusive as possible while he delicately scents her. He catches on that she is wary and on guard - as would be typical - and a higher ranking wolf in the pack. As he goes to drop his eyes, he notices she caught him and he presses lower to the ground and drops his eyes to the ground.

Frostbite
Female hunter
(Immm back)
Slinking through the woods the black wolf had her eyes on a nice fat mole. It was happily chewing on some clover but as she went to pounce there was a loud howl and her Jaws snapped shut on nothing but air. "Dammit scar" She half grumbled before making her way back to the pack. Digging up her previous catch she sighed frostbite was only able to catch a squirrel and a pawny rabbit. Eyes scanning the Forrest for more prey as she went along her eats pricked at the woodbine. As he walked out she nodded to scar and vinda. eyeballing the new wolf she lifted her chin slightly and walked to but the prey in a nice hole so it wouldn't rot.

Moose scents another wolf walk by, flicking his gaze over to it, sees that its a black furred female, who was carrying prey. He glances down, then back up, before flicking it back down as he sees her make eye contact with the Alpha and the other female.
