(Noooo Ghost! Get well soon! I'll be praying)) +++ General Anubis AKA: Craptain Jack Spare-Ribs +++ Leo swallowed down a wave of dizziness, completely turning off his emotions as much as he could, so everything felt more like static. "I'll try." He mumbled lowly, mentally reminding himself if he did die, she'd have to write a song about his death. He'd better make it heroic. Not... like, toppling over and dying of blood loss. Not heroic. He hoped he'd die valiently fighting a ferocious beast of a giant dragon. No, even better, he hoped he'd win and die shortly afterwards. His last words should be... I lived my life well, now it is time for me to conquor the next one. No, too corny. He needed to try harder. Too heartfelt! Too unfocused- he reminded himself to get his head in the game. Everything was so blurry- was that a unicor!? {Hurry} He thought to himself, morphing into dragon form and a little lopsidedly flying up into the sky. He steadied slightly, swiftly beating his wings to keep up with Glory, silently gliding through the air and trying to get his eyes to sharpen so he could actually see. When it was time, he drifted to the ground- screw that, of course he didn't. He almost crashed when his wings wobbled and gave out, but he managed to make it a crash landing instead of a full out crash. "I'm totally fine..." He muttered something that sounded more like "Imblblblrrrrfffff...." Leo pushed himself upright and shook his head harshly.

Lieutenant Dwyer Glory kept glancing back at Leo as they flew, trying somehow to focus on the task at hand and not him. She took a deep breath, trying not to acknowledge Leo's terrible landing, but couldn't just ignore his sorry state. "I think I could cauterize that, if you'd like," She said, stealing a brief look at his wound, still dripping blood. Definitely not good. She stalked deeper into the dense forest on silent talons, ears twitching, swiveling, listening for any signs of life beyond the forest's permanent residents. 6 miles went by considerably faster when you're a large dragon, since you can maintain an 18 mph speed and get where you're going in 20 minutes. She slowed to a halt a few hundred yards from the edge of the Corrupted camp, crouching low, wings folded tightly against her sides. "Okay, how do we go about this? Rush in, set everything ablaze, and hope we escape, or sneak in, slice that bastard, and hope we escape?" She whispered, a thread of macabre sarcasm creeping in. The former sounded more maliciously fun, given what the Corrupted had done to both her closest friends, but the latter was more likely to succeed. Maybe stealth mission until they inevitably got caught, then destroy everything within reach. Yeah, sounded like a good plan... so long as Leo didn't bleed out before they got what they needed. General Anubis AKA: Craptain Jack Spare-Ribs +++ Leo sucked in a deep breath, his chest heaving a little at the sight of his stomach. Gah- it didn't look good. He really was... coming close... to ... he wasn't going to think about that. He closed his eyes and lowered his head, feeling his heart was beating faster. He couldn't be scared. Death meant relief. He didn't have anything to live for. Gritting his jaw, he looked back up at her. "Yes. If it keeps bleeding im not going to be able to continue. Please, just do what you need to- I need to help. I can't just sit around and wait." He left the end of the sentence off, the intended meaning hanging in the air. Sit around and wait for him to die. Of course. He followed her quickly, slowing when they got closer. "Well, I'd love to rush in, but the part of my brain with no common sense already died. So, sneak in, slice and dice, and hope we escape." He smiled faintly, but even it was wobbly. He crouched down in the bushes, trying to hold in his blood and convince himself that he was going to be okay and he was going to help those students and he was going to get in more bar fights with Glory. That was all going to happen.

Lieutenant Dwyer Glory nodded solemnly, burning flesh was never a fun ordeal, even with numbing solutions. His unsaid words hurt more than Glory thought they should have, and she certainly wasn't going to choose one friend over the other."Alright then, hold still," She said, electricity sparking to life on her talons as she sat next to him. "I've only done this on myself once, and it wasn't nearly as bad as this. It's gonna hurt like hell, but you can't move or you'll make it worse, okay?" She lowered her head, and, using her claws like a welding torch, carefully burned the inside of the wound as deep as she could reach without cutting him, working her way outward. The acrid smell of burning flesh rose into the air, and Glory wrinkled her snout slightly. After a few painful moments, she let the sparks sizzle out on her claws, sitting back and checking over her work briefly. "Sorry, if I had a choice I'd at least conk you out first," She said, trying on a small wry smile. She thought about what he'd said before she burned him, then, with a sly grin, said, "Good plan. And if we're successful, I'll see if they've got any rum left, there's no way I torched their entire store of it." Glory crouched lower, creeping silently through the trees until she was just on the edge of the camp, where she stopped, shrouding herself in darkness. Yes, her human form was much smaller, however one little Glory, even with Leo's help, was no match for an entire camp of these bastards, so it seemed like a better idea to be big and ready for a fight than small and outnumbered. She stalked around the edges, sticking to the darkest, most deserted areas she could, before coming across a sentry's watchtower. Uh-oh, had he seen the blot of inky blackness trailing through the foliage? Hopefully the sentry was dumb enough to mistake her for the shadow of something flying overhead, but as soon as Glory thought it, she knew it was wrong. He raised a crossbow, aiming for Glory's head, and she made the quick decision to dispose of him right then. She leaped up, snapping her powerful jaws around his body just as he fired the crossbow, lodging the bolt firmly into her shoulder. The injury only made her mad, and she snapped her jaws shut, crushing his spine, neck, and the offending crossbow. Glory released the Corrupted's remains, dropping back down to all four legs before twisting her head around to try to pull the crossbow bolt out, but to no avail; it was just out of her reach. Oh well, she could just ask Leo to yank it out later. She growled faintly in annoyance before continuing her journey through the outskirts of their camp, careful to avoid the several watchtowers she came across. There was one tower she didn't notice, however, since it was pretty much an ugly treehouse, hidden among the foliage. She wouldn't have seen it if it weren't for the amount of light it blocked out, even through the dense treetops. She looked up just in time to see an arrow, tipped in blue liquid, flying in her direction. Either the archer had terrible aim(Partly due to the fact it was like shooting down a well, inside a cave, blindfolded), or Glory was just really light on her feet, but she managed to neatly sidestep the very thing that would've ended the mission then and there, though everything was already beginning to fall apart. Glory heard some form of alarm go off, which sounded like a bell frantically ringing, along with shouts regarding a security breach, intruder, blah blah blah. Well, stealth mission over. She dropped her cover of darkness - no point now, just a waste of energy- and lunged into the open, teeth bared, and snapped at the few Corrupted who had approached with swords and spears. Glory had time to notice their weapons were plain, untainted, which she hoped meant the blue goo was either in low supply or these were still rather untrained. She slapped their weapons away with her tail, biting viciously at the now-unarmed Corrupted, smashing skulls, necks, spines, anything fatal she could get to. One of the swords stabbed painfully into her foot, and she growled at it, flinging it away. The arrow in her shoulder was making walking somewhat difficult, and she could feel blood, hot and sticky, dripping down her scales. She continued her defense, but scanned the treeline for familiar red scales, hoping Leo was alright. Edited at June 17, 2024 11:37 PM by KPH Equestrian

General Anubis AKA: Craptain Jack Spare-Ribs +++ Leo clenched his jaw, preparing for pain. He had done this once, on his human body, with a blow torch, and it SUCKED. He had NEVER wanted to experience that pain again. Sadly, just blocking out emotion wouldn't keep all this away. When she started burning his stomach closed, the pain was so great it flooded his mind, broke his emotional defenses, and almost rendered him unconscious. He felt the pain of flying over, the pain of the wound, the pain of the burning, the immense fear of his looming death ahead, the terrifying reality this may be the last time he ever saw Glory. All of it just crashed in, and he almost crumpled onto the ground with hisses of intense agony. After she was done, he took a staggering step back, his head reeling, trembling. His Empathy Power was shot. There was no way he'd be able to block pain or emotion anymore. "Don't die...." Was all he managed to whisper before she disappeared in a cloud of blackness. He stayed in the darkness until chaos started to reign. Shouts of anger and fear belted out, arrows flew, and swords slashed. He was out there within a matter of seconds, using his fear, his anger, his pain, all of it, using it to fuel him. He tore through Corrupted after Corrupted, his fangs flashing and claws slicing through scales. He was 89% sure he got stabbed at least three times, but he couldn't even tell anymore. his entire body was a ball of pain. Leo let out a roar of fury as a Corrupted sent a spear through his tail into the ground. He ripped it out and pushed it through the Corrupted's heart then whirled on the neck, his powerful jaws crushing it's neck. It was Glory's job to get Ammit's blood- he just needed to protect her. He fought his way over to her and viciously tore apart any Corrupted that dare get near her, giving her a chance to get at the leader. They needed that blood. Lieutenant Dwyer Glory was glad to see Leo, to know she hadn't just cooked him, and realised it was a great thing that he was fighting with her, not against her, or she'd probably be a Glory-sized puddle on the ground. She turned quickly, whacking people with her tail before stomping brutally on them, crunching bones and weapons alike. The crossbow bolt in her shoulder was very annoying, hindering movement so she couldn't swipe and slap properly, and she could feel blood oozing down her leg, almost to her elbow. A large shadow darkened the camp, and Glory watched as a dragon a little smaller than herself, black with blue and purple swirls, and white scales, Glory lunged at Ammit, clawing and biting at her neck and chest. Glory threw her head up, slamming her horns into Ammit's jaw, then bit at her neck again and shoved her down onto her back. Glory hardly noticed the other dragons claws raking her face and chest. Glory pinned Ammit's wings down to the ground on either side of her, her back talons stabbing into Ammit's underbelly. Glory felt Ammit's back talons rake her underbelly, but she didn't care. She dug her claws into the Corrupted's wings, tearing the thin membranes, hindering her flight somewhat. She pulled one foreleg up, tearing Ammit's wing worse, and brought it down across Ammit's chest, blood dripping down her talons as Ammit struggled against Glory's weight. Hopefully the blood dripping off her talons would be enough, but just for good measure Glory swiped her drogny hand through the pooling blood, gathering it in her palm. She reeled back as Ammit clawed Glory's snout, blood already dribbling down her face. Glory shoved Ammit away from her as the Corrupt stood, cupping Ammit's blood in her talons. On three legs she spun, launching herself into the sky and shouting for Leo. (gotta go, be right back<3)

General Anubis AKA: Craptain Jack Spare-Ribs +++ Leo swung his clubbed, spiked tail into a Corrupted's head so hard their skull was smashed into the building beside them. At this point, no one could tell the difference between his red scales and the blood. His black scales were stained red as well, along with his golden scales. All blood red. It didn't help that everything was pain so pain was nothing in one and all. He lunged forward and ripped a dragon off of Glory, crushing their neck in his jaws before lurching for the next. He was too blind at the moment to see how Glory was doing- honestly, he was in a mood. A kill everything and one talk later mood. Twice he had to stop himself from coming too close to accidentally raking his talons across Glory's scales while ripping another dragon off. He was truly a fighting machine, especially when delusional, in a lot of agony, and scared for his life. A roar distracted him for a split second, earning him a stab through the neck with very sharp talons, but it also informed him it was time to go. At this point, the Corrupted were fighting desperately, just trying not to die. Many had already fled. That meant they wouldn't follow Leo and Glory. Leo used his tail to smack the four that were attacking him away, then beat his wings to get up into the air. The membranes in between his bony wings were more tattered and torn than usual, and it was almost impossible to fly, but he managed to shoot away anyway. They needed to save Flash- that was his only goal right now. Staying alive was merely a stepstone to that goal that he was currently smashing to bits.

Lieutenant Dywer Glory was almost startled as a pure red dragon took off after her, realizing within that same moment that it was Leo, stained thoroughly with blood. Whether it was his own or everyone else's blood, Glory didn't know, nor did she want to know. She flew as gracefully as her injured shoulder allowed over the remaining Corrupted, reveling at how many they'd killed. The crossbow bolt in her shoulder was much more painful now that she was flying, she could feel flesh ripping with every beat of her wings, but she tried to ignore it. Leo was in much worse shape than Glory, but from what she could tell, his major stab wound wasn't bleeding, so that was good. Or it was and was just mixing with the splatters of the Corrupted's blood and he wouldn't make it all the way back, who knew. Some brave idiot below fired one last arrow, missing badly, and Glory spat an insult at him, along with a small electric shock; enough to cause a minor muscle spasm, but not enough to actually injure. Her energy was already flagging, no use wasting her strength when they still had quite a way to go. They flew without any major issues, no Corrupted following them. Glory kept one foreleg tucked close to her chest, cupping Ammit's blood in her claws. She shook herself out a few times, watching with macabre curiosity as blood-both her and not- fell, splattering the trees below. After just a few minutes, and about halfway back to the academy, Glory spotted a small clearing in the forest. She heard no large creatures, dragons, or otherwise hostile beings, but did hear flowing water. She called to Leo, "Alright, down we go, I'm sick of this thing in my shoulder," while folding in her wings painfully, dropping down to land, the forgotten stab wound in her foot making itself known as three legs hit the ground, the other still holding the blood. It'd gone cold by now, but she still had plenty. She swiveled her head toward Leo, gestured toward the quarrel still in her shoulder, and asked, "Mind pulling this out? It's rather annoying."
