Lieutenant Dwyer Glory sighed, guessing it was more than just 'some stuff'. "I take it you're not going to tell me anything more than that." She knew he had his reasons; whether it hurt too much to tell, or he was embarrassed, or something else, but she also thought he shouldn't have to hold onto it forever. Glory was certain he'd change the subject, but it was worth a try, anyway. - (Sorry it's short, I'm off to bed<3)

Flash knew he hadn't been doing his job enough. He was tired but he knew he had to do more. He sighed and decided to start his day at 4am. Hopefully he got to speak with his lietuenant soon.

General Anubis +++ Leo glanced at her, listening to her words. Of course, he was glad she didn't seem to be pressing the subject, but there was still that expectant tone, like she was trying to urge him to speak without urging him to speak. Scarily, he found himself wanting to open up, which was even worse than - than- he didn't know. It was just worse. The more people knew about his background, the more they could use against him. He would just make himself vulnerable that way, and if there is one thing Leo was not.. it's vulnerable. "You took it right. It doesn't matter much, I promise. Just a flashback. Don't worry about it and have fun forgetting about this entire conversation. Now, we probably should be starting the trek back home- you asked for the long route, so it'll take a little while to get all the way back to the campus." He said with a smile, although it wasn't because he was happy. He just wanted to prove he was FINE. If he hadn't told anyone yet, he wasn't going to cave and tell someone who's favorite thing to joke about was breaking his bones. Not the most trustful sounding person ever. Of course, he trusted Glory, in a working relationship kind of way- he trusted that she would fight alongside him when neccesary, and that she wouldn't turn on them. However, trust with personal level stuff was a WHOLE new level of trust. One that he wasn't even sure he had.

Lieutenant Dwyer Glory dropped the subject, not wanting to really put him on the spot. If he said he was fine, she'd just have to trust that he was being at least somewhat honest. "Alright then. I did ask for the long route, didn't I? Guess we should get going," She replied with a small smile. "Lead the way." She said, realizing she had no clue where he'd take her, and frankly didn't care. She was wet, cold, and someone was probably wondering where they'd been all morning. She did appreciate his effort to show he was okay, so she'd try not to worry about him. General Anubis +++ The memory has momentarily made him forget about being cold, but as he started walking and a wind sliced through the air, he felt chilled to the bone. He absolutely hated cold water- it just brought up that same gut wrenching fear that had been implanted in him so many years ago. However hard he tried, however, he couldn't get rid of it. He couldn't forget it. That's why he hated taking cold showers, and why he never swam anymore. Water, in general, was not his favorite. He remembered the feeling of it filling his lungs, cutting off his air flow, shoving him against the rocks and sharp ice. He had many scars from that one night. It was a miracle he survived, but many other miracles happened- he didn't drown, didn't bleed out, didn't freeze walking back to the cabin, didn't get murdered by his parents- many miracles. "I won't be able to stick the long route all the way through. Shortcut time." After they left the lake, instead of going straight he turned right, down a little trail that seemed to go through the middle of the forest. It was a pretty trail- birds chirped, the sun shone through the leaves, and there wasn't as much wind. However, he was still quite cold, and he couldn't stop himself from shivering as he walked along. As they weaved through the trees, there was barely even a trail to follow anymore, but he knew this route well. He had spent years around here- the only person that beat him on time spent at the campus was General Simara. He had been here ever since he was 17, as that's when he ended up morphing. That was a little more than 9 long years now. Right when he moved up in ranks from student to sector Leader, that was when he really started wandering around. However, since he jumped from Sector Leader to Lieutenant in only a week, and Lieutenant to General in a couple months, he had gained a lot of responsibility rather quickly. Still, obviously, he liked to wander.

Lieutenant Dwyer Glory walked alongside Leo, keeping rather quiet as her mind wouldn't shut up about anything. She was still cold, but at least a little dry now. It was times like now that she wished her minor was in fire rather than electricity. It took a second to realize what he'd said since she was lost in thought. "Good, I regret asking for the longest route now," She joked, but if she weren't cold, she'd rather stay out here than go back to the academy. As Leo led her down an increasingly narrow path, Glory wondered if he even knew where he was going; there looked to be little more than a deer trail through to foliage here. She kept walking, watching the birds flit through the trees ahead of them, and had a mildly amusing thought; He probably helped the deer in making this trail.

General Anubis +++ Leo shoved his hands in his pockets, which didn't help, as his clothes were sopping wet. Super helpful. He huffed quietly and glanced around, making sure they were going the right way. As she spoke, he chuckled quietly. "This route is about as short as the other one, so you'll be fine." He teased lightly, raking his hands through his hair again, making it stand up in crazy spiky ways. Since it was still damp, the moisture made it stand up even more. Soon, they emerged into... the very field he sat in to watch the sunrise, outside of the campus. "Look at that! We're here. I didn't get us lost. Yay me." He grinned, though still shivering slightly. He was close to dry clothes and warmth. So close.

Lieutenant Dwyer Glory was somewhat surprised to learn there was such a direct route to and from the academy, but it made sense, given all the wildlife in the area. She was just glad not to have seen many predators during her time there. "Impressive, I was almost certain you were just guessing the general direction," Glory teased with a sly smile, then continued. "But honestly, thanks for having breakfast with me. And proving you really can swim, even if the circumstances were less than ideal." She glanced toward the castle and sighed. "I guess I ought to get going, see ya later," She said with a small smile, a little disappointed at being back already. She made her way inside and up the stairs toward her room when she ran into General Wallis- almost literally. "There you are, Flash. Did you need me? God, you look tired, are you alright?" She said, glad to see him.

General Anubis +++ Leo glanced at her as she spoke, grinning. "I kind of was. But we're here, right?" He chuckled, then nodded, smiling slightly. "I needed the food. I should be thanking you for not killing me after I dumped you in the water, and dealing with me for the entire time. Must've been pretty difficult." He commented, his eyes twinkling slightly. "Bonjour." He answered, laughing as he walked away. He was a little sad that he had to leave, as that meant he had no one to talk to again, and talking was pretty much his favorite thing to do- ever. He decided to go try and make sure General Rogue was okay, although he'd probably get yelled at for it. He walked to the room, then knocked and waited. No response. He knocked again, louder. No response. Leo opened the door, then saw nothing. Slightly concerned, he limped to the meeting room. Nothing. After searching most of the campus and not finding Romanov or Simara, he quickly limped back to the rooms, turning to try and find Glory, who was one of the only people he could think of to help. He saw the two talking in a hall. "Dwyer, Wallis- Simara and Romanov are gone." He called, walking up. "I just searched almost the entire campus. They're not the types to leave, especially with the ceremony tomorrow. We need to find them." He said stoutly, glancing around. "Where's Alka? She's the other mind reader, right?"

(Ghost light, no one heard the mind message due to the blue substance, and you couldn't get to the camp without a LONG time of travel. So Kere's wouldn't be able to get there. Sorry :(. ) 'General Rogue' Adrien Romanov -x- Adrien sat in bored silence. He had been allowed to have no gag for now, since he hadn't been talking. But every time a sentry looked back he gave them an indignant look. He was tired, hurt, and bored. He was not at all amused by this. Not that he was amused often. Adrien set his head back against the chair, leaning back. He sighed quietly and stared at the cave ceiling. He kept trying to get his pain receptors back on board, but he couldn't. The blue liquid was still flowing to strongly through his veins to allow him to use his abilities. Seeing that the sentries had more of the stuff in little bottles on their belts, he figured he was not going to get his powers back for a while. Edited at May 30, 2024 01:47 PM by Oakwood Barn
