General Anubis AKA: "Professional Doofus" +++ Leo was REALLY glad she said it was a dare, because otherwise this would NOT have been worth it. Now he was FRICKING FREEZING and his chest was in a BUTTLOAD of pain- but hey, he did the dare, so he was happy! His brain worked in wonderful and marvelous ways. "You have the courage to get back in? Gosh, I admire your courage." He joked with a small laugh, though when she splashed him, it was game on. He dipped down to the bottom then shot back up, completely drenching her in the process. "There! Now we're even. However- I might just die-" His voice dropped out as he shot towards shore, obviously using his strong swimming abilities. As soon as his feet touched bottom, he was out of there. "BRRR this was s-stupid I hate cold water-" He shook his head, water droplets going flying. Leo WAS quite sensitive to cold water- he loved cold air, and winter was his favorite season, but cold water seemed to dig into his bones and chill him from the inside out.

(Ghost~ Well that's Simara and Romanov's fault xD) Lieutenant Dwyer Glory laughed and quipped, "Well, I'm glad you find me admirable." She wasn't ready for his surprisingly quick counter-attack, and thus was utterly drenched- even more so, at least. "Yep, even. Don't you dare, I haven't dislocated your fingers yet!" Glory chortled back, shivering a little. She followed him back to shore and wrung the water out of her hair, then replied, "Yup, very stupid." Glory teased, slapping his arm playfully. "That's another thing you got right, I'm gonna have to take it out of tomorrow's rightness allowance." Edited at May 29, 2024 10:05 PM by KPH Equestrian

(Rightness allowance? Pfft Yeah, they ran off without us! XD) General Anubis AKA: "Professional Doofus" +++ Leo snorted, choosing not to have a mental meltdown at the words. "Haha, very funny." He chuckled at her drenched look- kind of like a wet cat. It was hilarious. "Wait, so if I die you won't dislocate my fingers? Why don't you just dislocate them on my corpse?" He teased, then cast a glare at her, shuddering slightly as the cold water slid down his skin. "Rightness allowance? I'm not even going to ask-" he shook his head harder, sending more water flying. He then raked his hands through his hair, then did his best to squeeze the water out of his shirt. "My new shirt, too. Rash decision." He complained quietly, mumbling something about cold water and shivering again. "Gaaahh- I'm fine. I'm totally fine. Fake it till you make it, right?" He grinned, rubbing his arms before moving back into the sunlight. He enjoyed the harsh, bright sun now. It was warming up his frozen bones.

(Yup, he can only be right twice a day- like a broken clock xD) Lieutenant Dwyer Glory tried to act like that was the silliest question she'd ever heard, "Where's the fun in that? I don't punish a person twice for one crime, y'know." She grinned at his glare but tried to stay somewhat serious as she spoke. "Yeah; you're only allowed to be right twice daily. It's what happens when you dunk someone in a cold lake without warning." Glory snorted as he mumbled something about his new shirt, but otherwise ignored it. She laughed at his next sentence though, "Hmm, yes, excellent philosophy." She lilted, picking up the towel she'd dumped on the sand and tossing it at him. "Where'd you steal this thing from?" Glory asked, hoping he didn't actually steal it.

(XD I just mentally freaked out, like, what was he going to answer to her question where he got the towel from? +Oh, uh, i just, stole it, yeah.+ Or +Um, my bathroom, because that makes so much sense+ Like 0-0 you put me in a tight spot there LOL) ++++ General Anubis AKA: "Professional Doofus" +++ Leo lifted his eyebrows. "Are you saying you'd be the one who killed me?" He asked with a grin, then winced. He still was feeling slightly guilty about that- too soon to joke about it. He didn't MEAN to dunk her in a lake. "Twice daily. That's not much wiggle room, is it?" He inquired, chuckling, then nodded heartily. "Yep! Great philosophy." He agreed, shivering slightly as a breeze swept across the lake. Brr. At her question, he paused for a second, thinking. "I'm... not quite sure. No, wait, nevermind, I got it from the clean shelf in the pool room in the campus. Did you know the campus has a pool room?" He grinned widely.

(I did, you're welcome! xD) Lieutenant Dwyer Glory thought about it a moment, then countered, "Maybe. Are you saying you'd be slow enough to let anyone kill you in the first place?" She grinned slyly, "Nope, but I'm sure you'll manage, you seem pretty used to being wrong, anyway." She shot him a sidelong glance when he looked guilty at her cold-lake remark. "Stop looking so guilty, I'm only teasing. I can handle being cold, y'know. Darkness isn't particularly warm." She replied, not entirely harshly. As he thought about where he maybe-stole the towel from, her mind started running through all the possible places she knew of. His answer was not on the list, though. She raised an eyebrow at him and asked, "It does? Where?" Then, she realized there were plenty of places it could be; she'd never really explored the school entirely.

General Anubis AKA: "Professional Doofus" +++ Leo rolled his eyes. "I falter, too. Everyone makes mistakes. Yes, you can take that away from my rightness score." He grinned, then snorted. He was rather used to be wrong, or, at least, no one ever acknowledging he was right. He gave her a glance at her next words, but said nothing until her sentence was completely completed. "I like the cold too, I just don't like cold water." He huffed quietly, though there wasn't as much of a joking tone to the last part of his sentence. A memory was slowly forming in his head, but it was one he didn't want to remember. "In the basement, actually. No one knows where it is, so no one ever uses it." He answered, then closed his eyes for a second as the forbidden memory flashed across his vision. He was just 7 years old, doing his favorite thing ever- swimming. Leo all but lived in the water, and as a young, exuberant kid, he quickly got quite good at swimming, holding his breath, and diving. Anything he could think of that was fun, he would do. One of his new favorite activities was to find a big rock, and carry it with him while walking to the bottom, so it's weight kept him down. He also loved cold water. The colder the better- it could be the middle of winter and he'd be fine in the freezing water. Everyone thought he was crazy, but he loved it. One cold, snowy winter, he was just wading into the river again when a strong gust of wind made him lose his balance. He realized in an instant that he had made a mistake, as a strong current swept him off his feet. Letting out a muffled scream as he hit the water, no one heard. He was quickly dragged under the ice, into a ripping current of rolling waves. The water buffeted him against rocks and the jagged ice. The cold seemed to seep into his bones, making everything go blank. Terror shot through his veins. He knew he was going to die. Drown in the very place he loved. However, just as the cold was claiming victory, there was a break in the ice, and he happened to get shoved through it. His small body, now blue with the cold, was not even shivering. He was just numb. He managed to pull himself out and crawl home, but he would never be the same again. As the memory faded, Leo blinked, his breathing quickened slightly as the fear in his heart re-awakened. Not much, but enough. He turned away to gaze at the forest, trying to make his breathing quiet enough to not be heard. He just needed to forget about that. He was so weak.

Lieutenant Dwyer Glory feigned shock at his first sentence, "No, really? You?? I won't change your rightness-ness just because you were honest." She was about to reply as he kept talking, but every word left her mind when he looked very-much-not-okay. She waited for him to look somewhat better, though he still wasn't breathing normally, before asking, "You okay? You don't seem. . . mentally here." Not bothering with trying to keep concern out of her voice.

General Anubis +++ Leo stared into space for a couple seconds after she spoke before glancing back at her with a slightly surprised look. He had not realized she had started talking. He turned back, trying to calm himself completely. Stupid memories. He wished he could just forget everything. Then again, that was another stupid wimpy thing to do, so maybe he should just grow up someday and get over it. "You're concerned about me? Again? I'm flattered." He smiled, but it was a bit weaker than before. "I'm fine- just remembering some stuff." He added, not non-truthfully, but not sharing every detail like she was a therapist. He wasn't that kind of person. He never really talked about his past- no one on this campus, for sure, knew anything about his past. All people could guess was that he had a pretty rough background, as he had whip scars all across his back. Other than that, there were no hints to what had happened to him.
