Name: Atlas Gender: Stallion Age: 5 Herd: Earth Species: Unicorn Associated Breed: Percheron Role: Heir Abilities: Material Manipulation; capable of changing and manipulating the state of rock, dirt, sand, clay and any other earthy material. For example, he could cause a previously solid mass of dirt to turn into something like quicksand, or can cause rocks to erode/break when previously they had seemed completely stable. He can’t use it all the time, as the bigger the spell is the bigger the cost is. Appearance: Atlas is a dark bay with birdcatcher spots, with a broken stripe and snip on his face, as well as 4 white stockings. He is well-muscled, standing at 17.3 hh. He has light feathering on his feet and his mane and tail are fairly thick and long, black in color though often sunbleached at the ends during the warmer seasons. He has scars on his flank and chest, though mostly small ones from a number of fights, most of which were training. He has a long white horn in the center of his forehead, slightly curved back towards his torso. His eyes are a dark green. Personality: Atlas is about as stubborn as one can be, and known to be quite standoffish to anyone outside his herd. As a foal he was rather goofy and lighthearted, but due to the war, he grew to be more reserved and calloused. At times he is still like that, mostly around those closest to him, but for the most part he acts how he is expected to, like a future leader. He doesn’t typically make rash decisions, and always tries to put the members of his herd first, even if that means he pays the price. Strengths: decision making, patience, strength, stamina
Weaknesses: stubbornness, selflessness, lack of trust in others, speed
— — — Name: Eteri Gender: Mare Age: 4 Herd: Air Species: Pegasi Associated Breed: Thoroughbred Role: Guard of the Pegasi Heir Abilities: Raptor; she has keen sight much like the bird she resembles (an osprey), and is able to spot small or far away objects easier than most equines. She’s a fast flier as well with large wings that are around the size of her own body. She’s incredibly light, which is a disadvantage in battle, but allows her to move far quicker than most equines. Appearance: Eteri is colored much like an osprey, with dark brown markings across her back on a mostly white body. She has dark brown stripes on her face, which go from the corner of her eyes down her neck to conjoin with the markings on her back. Besides her wings which are the same brown on top and partially white underneath, she has feathers like a crest on her head and many around her shoulders where her wings join with her body, as well as some sticking out her flank by her tailbone. Her mane and tail are a mix of black and white strands, and her eyes gold in color. She isn’t the tallest, standing at 15.2 hh (might be easiest to just look at a picture of an osprey) Personality: lighthearted/optimistic, friendly, open-minded, caring, charismatic, occasionally mischevious
— — — Name: Solar (or Sol for short) Gender: Mare Age: 3 Herd: Fire Species: Fire Horse / Dragon Horse Associated Breed: Dutch Warmblood Role: Horse of the Prophecy Abilities: Nightmare; able to become one with fire essentially. It tends to have different stages depending on how much power she uses and how angry she is, as the fire tends to be triggered by intense emotions such as anger. Part of the power is a transformation, in which her mane, tail, and eyes become flames. Her body temperature increases significantly, to the point where simply touching her is often enough to cause injury. Losing control results in her becoming engulfed in flame, and the fire often becomes nearly impossible to control if she is in this state for too long. Appearance: Solar is a silver black rabicano, with a marking like a fish hook on her face, standing at 16hh. She has 2 coronets (one on her front left and one on her back right), a sock on her front right, and a stocking on her back left leg. She has a pair of horns like those of an ibex, black in color, with bands of red orange which glow and appear much like magma. She has amber eyes, bright in color, and nearly red around the pupil. On her neck she has a marking like a star, slightly darker than her base coat.
Personality: Temperamental, rash, bold, confident (almost overly so) — — — Name: Glyn Gender: Stallion Age: 11 Herd: Earth Species: Unicorn Associated Breed: Percheron Role: Leader Abilities: Plant Manipulation/control; able to control the speed of which plants grow, and able to make them move. Such as causing a tree to move from one place to another. Appearance: Red bay with 4 socks and a blaze, light brown eyes. 18hh tall — — — Name: Opal Gender: Mare Age: 10 Herd: Earth Species: Unicorn Associated Breed: Percheron Role: Wisdom (basically a co-leader and teacher) Abilities: Healing; particularly being able to manipulate/enhance the properties of plants to heal. This ability spreads to plants as well as equines, allowing her to grow plants faster and rid them of disease. Appearance: Fleabitten gray on a black coat, with dark brown eyes. 17hh tall Edited at March 16, 2022 05:16 AM by Lunar Eclipse

Name: Wynnettia Gender: Mare Age: 4 Herd: Air Species: Pegasi Associated Breed: Akhal-Teke Role: Heir Abilities: Wind Manipulation, she can control the air to increase her speed and agility exponentially. As well as use the wind around her to shield herself or force outward in a "gust-like" attack. Appearance: Wynnettia is an incredibly lean 15.3hh mare. Her perlino coat is a shimmering white-gold, and much the same along with her large wings, that pales to near white at the tips. The mare's silky yet thin mane and tail have the same shimmering as her coat, the mane reaching halfway down the neck, and her tail just above her fetlock. She has pale blue eyes and the only feathers she has are a small crest at the poll, around her shoulders and a thin line of feathers starting at the withers and ending the dock of her tail. Personality: Optimistic to a fault, Wynnettia is always one to brighten the mood, talkative and lively, but also overbearing. She is quite self-aware and empathetic to those around her and a friendly face to all, especially to those in need. But Wynnettia makes it her mission to please others and sometimes causes her to sacrifice more than she can offer. She dislikes conflict, especially between those she loves, as well as being quite sensitive. She was raised far from the warzone, for she was a jewel to her family, though their mistake when their first heir (Wynnettia's brother) passed away months ago and has left the Leader's only offspring and "weak" heir behind. Strengths: Lightweight with great speed and agility, takes initiative in dire situations and is intuitive to others and her environment. Weaknesses: Overly Sensitive, Talkative/Over-bearing, and Impulsive.

Appearance: Takoda is a bulky stallion at 17.2hh, he has a dark brown coat, the fur almost black but carrying a chocolate hue. He has sabino markings, starting at the shoulders and thighs which freckles off along his body and the white marking goes down his legs to his thick feathered feet. It was an Autumn morning as the four great herds gathered for the union that was to come. The sun had risen for more than a few hours now, almost reaching its peak for the day, where the air would soon become warm. Each herd stood segregated, despite the meaning of the event that was to take place. But that didn't stop the dirty looks some would pass to each other, or snide remarks. It took everything Gia had to keep relaxed, but her ears still flicked in annoyance as she stood mere meters away from the leader of the Earth Herd. Which wasn't a sight seen very often.
"Calm yourself, this is for the good of our home, and our future." A smooth voice whispered, it was soothing to Gia but did little to quell her anxiousness. "And the one who should really feel so turbulent is Wynn,"
Both leaders' gaze transitioned to the perlino Pegasi, who stood front and centre. To most, she seemed composted, elegant even, but to the familiar eyes of her parents, you could see her thin frame trembling, either in fright, worry, or nerves. The young mare kept her pale gaze in front, where a dark Water Horse stood, for he was to unite the Heirs when everyone was settled.
Wynnettia had never foreseen this day to come, not in a million years. Not only did she live a life of luxury unlike the others that fought in the war, but she was also promised a life of her choice, that all Pegasi were given. Now, she was torn from her home, dragged to stand before the Enchanted Tree and give vows to a union she did not agree to. All in the name of saving the Tree, to prevent its demise. And, Wynnettia went along, not once did she raise her voice, nor did she fight it. Because her parents wished this of her and who was she to disappoint.
So, resigned to her fate, the pale Pagasi simply looked to the Tree behind the Dark Water Horse, her vision narrowing as she blurred out her surroundings. The large tree stood alone, on top of a slight hill in a clearing, smaller trees surrounded the area perfectly, and if you listened well you could hear a faint trickling of a nearby river. The breeze was still so you couldn't hear the leaves rustling, but Wynnettia believed you would considering how dry they looked. Which saddened the Pegasi cause her last memory of the tree was so lush and green, it even had a glow to it.
The quiet mumbling of voices went silent, enough that it brought the perlino to attention, she glanced behind and saw everyone has quietened down. Were they starting? She thought, but it couldn't be so cause she stood alone, then her eyes saw him. The heir to the Earth Herd, he stood tall, and proud, much like a leader-to-be. Wynnettia wasn't much surprised that the Earth Herd had such a dignified equine as their Heir, he reminded her of her late brother. Which also meant she definitely was nothing compared to him, but it also meant she had so much more to prove.
---
(So, a bit longer than I intended, but hopefully, that's good enough to start us off, and that I described the area well. I forgot we didn't really talk about the Enchanted Tree location.) Edited at March 9, 2022 07:18 PM by Riverbreeze Stables

It was quite a lovely day, though it seemed few of the equines gathered were eager to enjoy it. Tensions were high, for it had been far too long since the herds had gathered in each other's presence in any state of peace. Even Glyn, a usually stoic figure, seemed caught up in the nerves much like the leaders of the pegasi beside him. He had plenty of reason to be, neither side had done anything less than the worse to each other for many years. He harbored resentment that lingered in his heart even as he attempted to ignore it, hoping this union would help him rid himself of such feelings. After all, if nothing went wrong, the war would end that very day. Though the union could only take place if his heir got here a little quicker, being late was hardly anything to be proud of. Yet Opal had decided she wanted him to look his best, and Glyn had decided it was not worth the effort to argue. Steps approaching behind him was the only sound which drew his attention, falling upon the two late arrivals. They remained silent, especially as all other voices fell to a hush. Atlas did his best to appear as if he wanted to be there, head held high and proud, aware of the many eyes following every movement he made. If only he hadn’t been late, then perhaps their curious gazes would have already been done with their inspections. What would they find? The dark bay stallion was hardly anything special, the only features of interest on his body would be his scars or the odd white spots which never seemed to stay the same for more than a year. Perhaps they’d find his size to be of interest, afterall he seemed to tower above many of the other equines outside those in his own herd. Perhaps his scars would be most appealing, though his mother had attempted to make some of them fade, there were enough of them to tell a story. Or many at that, but he figured they’d make for lackluster conversation quickly enough. The two heirs of two warring herds forming a union, what made for better conversation than that? He wanted to think he’d had no choice in this matter, but the truth was he’d chosen to accept his parents' proposition. Afterall, what better way to end a seemingly endless war and save the Enchanted Tree than a union of enemies? Seemed like something that could hardly be realistic, despite such events unraveling at that very moment. He took his place in front of his own herd, in line with the perlino pegasi he found his gaze wandering to, though merely out of curiosity. She was a fair bit smaller than he was, though he was hardly surprised by that, though built almost like she was made of twigs. Not a mare who had seen any battle, though he’d known that already. He left his curiosity for later, placing his focus on the water horse before them, hoping he was actually prepared for the events about to unfold. - (perfectly fine with longer replies, I'm bound to get a little carried away myself)

Wynnettia's watchful gaze followed the dark stallion as he strode down the center between the herds, there he stood to the right of the pegasi. She did catch his eyes but she was quick to flick her own away, not out of nerves of being caught but simply cause she didn't know what expression to give if their gaze had remained for too long. Now that they were side by side the size of him had left the pegasi speechless, it finally struck Wynnettia that she had never been so close to a Unicron before, nor did she realise their stature. It left Wynnettia feeling more delicate than she ever had, and made her want to commend her brethren for their fight against such equines.
"Today, we gather for the union between two herds, to end a war that has been fought for generations, and to begin the healing of our great Enchanted Tree." A deep voice called out, loud and clear so all could hear him. It was then that everyone moved their attention from the heirs to the Water Horse that stood before everyone. He continued on to narrate the harsh reality of what their war cost them all, and what this union would hope to bring. It appeared to be the same babble that was commonly heard at a union between two equines wanting to spend their lives together. With an added history lesson, some scriptural messages, and the importance of this union. "Now, we stand here to witness the joining of Atlas of the Earth Herd and Wynnettia of the Air Herd. For they will bring peace to our land, an end to war, and service to our Enchanted Tree, our life-giver."
The Water Horse then looked pointedly to Wynnettia, as if he waited for her to speak. It was then the perlino realised he was, she had almost forgotten the vows. She cleared her throat and spoke for the first time since she got here. "I, Wynnettia promise to be faithful to Atlas, to cherish this union and what it brings to our lives, and to pledge myself to our life-giver, the Enchanted Tree and ask for their forgiveness." It came out more rushed than she had intended, the vows changed for this unique ceremony, but the mare had spoken the lines perfectly.
The Water Horse nodded, then looked to the heir of the Unicorn herd for his vows. Much of this was mindless drivel, for both the heirs obviously did not even know each other much less want to promise anything to each other. But it was a service to the Tree, and in all honesty, the dark Water Horses looked forward to what this would bring to them all and to their Tree.

Atlas quickly removed his gaze from the pegasi as soon as she herself looked away, his attention instead focusing itself on the water horse before them. It wasn’t like he didn’t already know why they were there, or why they had to do this, so the reminders hardly seemed important to the union. Though perhaps following through with all of it was needed for the union to work, though he still wasn’t entirely sure it could work. Would the tree know it was a union only made out of fear for its own weakening state? If this was a union between him and a mare he actually knew and cared for, perhaps he would have been nervous, Maybe even happy, but instead he was merely waiting for it all to end, even if it had only just begun. There was no joy in this event, if anything there was relief amongst the tensions, for at least the war would come to an end. So he forced himself to appear as if he wanted this, keeping his posture tall and proud, preparing himself for his own vows as the pegasi began her own. “I, Atlas, promise to be faithful to Wynettia, to cherish this union and what it brings to our lives, and to pledge myself to our life-giver, the Enchanted Tree and ask for their forgiveness." His voice carried more volume than he intended, though he supposed it was better that everyone present knew his vows had been made. They didn’t need any equines rejecting the union and stirring up trouble on their own. He’d imagined crafting his own vows for his union when the time came, but in those dreams he’d be with a mare he knew and cherished, rather than the stranger beside him. What would they do after the ceremony was over and done with? Live their own separate lives and only grace each other with their presence when absolutely necessary? As the water horse continued his speech, Atlas forced himself to stay in the present, not needing to fill his mind with worries of the future. All that mattered at this very moment was this union, anything else would come later. He had to at least look like he was paying attention, not like he was regretting every decision anyone had made up to that point. He did find himself wishing he’d at least met the pegasi heir before this union, so he could at least know what type of horse they were. Alas, he knew nothing about her, like how she knew nothing about him. --- (literally ended up doing the same thing, ain't got a clue how weddings work, much less a horse wedding lol)

Once the vows were said, the sermon continued. Wynnettia and Atlas were then told to complete a few tasks to complete their union. At this moment, Wynnettia had finally stopped trambling and was mostly on autopilot. As joyous as the thought of the war being over, the perlino was not as elated as everyone else. What would her future hold after today? Would she live like she always had, or would it be different? The pegasi had so many questions and thoughts but she put them aside.
Finally, the ceremony was over, the water horse announced that the union was complete and that all should be well. How? Wynnettia could only ask, but no one had the answer.
The crowd had mixed feelings, and multiple different reactions went from cheers to huffs to taunts. But it was all set now, the future of their herds relied on the heir's cooperation, and in hopes would heal the Enchanted Tree from the tarnish their war caused. But before anyone could move, or even head onto the celebrations. The wind suddenly and violently picked up in the clearing. Wynnettia's hair whipped around uncontrollably, her feathers ruffling in the gusts of air. The Pegasi had thought that maybe another of her kind was making a ruckus, but everyone was just as surprised.
Then the water horse in front jerked forward, an action so sudden that the mare couldn't help but jump back a step. It was as if the stallion in front was convulsing, deep groans and whispers escaped him, and his head twist back and forth. Wynnettia stood wide eyes, her breath rapid as she tucked her wings closer to her body.
With a loud gasp, the water horse whipped his head up, his dark eyes void of any life stared into the heirs before him. "You will not succeed, the destruction has already been done and our world will perish. It's coming! Darkness will spread and all you know, and all that ever was will succumb to its might." A deep gurgling sound grew in the other equines' throat, he hacked up something dark before he stepped towards them. "But not all is lost, for the prophecy will repeat itself, and the chosen one will save us all from the darkness. Bring them forth, and let their being be embraced by the life-giver for they will stop the darkness." As the last word was uttered, the water horse dropped. His body slammed into the ground and he remained unconscious.

(Haha, guess I'm not alone. Anyways, tried to make something up as a prophecy reading kind of thing. Hope it will do to start the plot going?)

As soon as the ceremony was over the stallion seemed to become lighter, releasing tensions he hadn’t realized he’d had. He didn’t mind the mixed reactions of the bystanders, he would have been concerned if they were all elated for the union to be made. Far too many had been hurt for all to let past grievances lie so easily. Yet as the wind started to pick up and the previously pleasant weather rapidly turned sour, the stallion was quick to look for a cause. There was no equine in the crowd that seemed anything less that surprised, some even appearing fearful. He glanced over at the pegasi heir to see her reaction, not surprised that she was equally as surprised as he was. As the water horse jerked forwards he resisted the urge to leap away, though his ears flicked back with uncertainty. He seemed possessed, moving in manners which did not seem to be his own. His nostrils flared, forcing his body to stay in place. He could hear gasps from the equines behind him, worried murmurs spreading across the herds. A voice in his head urged him to help the water horse, see if he would be alright. Another kept him in place, warning him that something was wrong. His eyes widened as the water horse suddenly grew still, empty eyes staring at the pair of them. Then the words began to spill forth. Just as abruptly as the change had come it ended, and the stallion had to hold himself back from approaching the now unconscious water horse. He was uncertain of many things, but he knew enough to recognize a prophecy when one was spoken, even if the water horse hadn’t said so himself. Not a good one at that, as the words made quite clear. He knew the mythos that each tribe had, how they all began in a time of darkness and how it suddenly changed with the coming of a chosen one, the first with magic. The similarities were too obvious to think of anything else, though even then it all seemed too impossible. The stillness was broken by the fleabitten wisdom passing the stunned heir, stopping by the unconscious equine to search for external wounds. “He isn’t injured, not that I can see.” The mare spoke calmly, looking towards the other members of the water horse tribe. Opal then turned her gaze to the heirs, and one could not doubt the seriousness of the matter. “It seems you two have a prophecy to fulfill.” --- (Time for the action lol) Edited at March 10, 2022 09:15 AM by Lunar Eclipse

Wynnettia stood in a daze. She couldn't tear her eyes away from the water horse before her, his once lively form seemed so lifeless, is he dead? No, that wasn't right, another mare, grey with flecks of colour had stepped forth, and announced to everyone his status. But his previous actions were so strange, and he told a story that sound so familiar, like something she heard as a filly. The perlino knew it but her thoughts were all over the place she couldn't process what it actually was.
"There is no way I will send my daughter to find some nameless... chosen one!" A loud and stern voice spoke out, whatever daze Wynnettia was in was wiped away, her undivided attention now on her mother. "And especially not with some unicorn to leave them traipsing around in the woods." She spat out. A murmur was heard behind the mare, something about the two heirs now life partners because of the union, but Gia was quick to glare down the grey stallion that said it, her partner Svantai.
The young pegasi heir smiled at her mother's defense, truly, Wynnettia didn't want to go, she wanted to hide away, and pretend none of this ever happened. But that was for a perfect world, here, they were war barren and dying, with Darkness around the corner and their only hopes in a horse no one knows. Who was she to bury herself away from it all? She wasn't the second heir anymore, her brother wasn't there to take away all her fears and worries or responsibilities.
Her father nudged Gia in an attempt to soothe her worries before he stood before them all. "I agree, the prophecy has been told, and we must all follow it, for our future and for the Enchanted Tree. But, they will not go alone, a guard from each herd will accompany the heirs." Svantai looked to the other herd leader, to get their assurance with the idea before continuing, "And, I feel it best that a mediator from the Water Herd also follows."
