The woman wandered off to get the kids, who were happily playing outside... she really did love it here. Where the kids could play around outside without her and Sage worrying about them so much... it was perfect. Near the country side but close enough to get everything they needed from the shops. She gave a little grin when she came back in with the kids, who both ran at Sage with a big grin on each of their faces. She gave a small chuckle after a moment, and wanted them to be gentle with their dad before plopping down on the couch happily.

Sage had settled down after a moment or so, grateful that Mari waited for a few minutes for him to catch his breath and such before calling the kids in. They knew he wasn't feeling great, but they hadn't told them much of what had happened other than 'daddy's sick' as Mari had eloquently put it. They didn't need to worry about him, or anything else, and he didn't think either of them would really understand much of what had happened if they'd even tried to explain it anyway. Though, when they both scrambled up over to him, he greeted them happily, letting Liz settle on his lap and Silas against his side, the both of them babbling...though it was mostly Silas, as it normally was...and did his best to respond to it all.

The woman gave a small smile when the kids scrambled over to their dad. She hoped Sage was going to be alright, but they weren't being too rough and settled down with them soon enough. They we're definitely happy to see their dad, though. He wasn't around much right then... and he hadn't been around much. But he was here now, and they just looked so pleased. She gave a small smile and patted Silas's head when he settled next to his father, though soon enough moved to rest her head against the couch with a soft breath.

Sage chuckled lightly at the kid's enthusiasm, wrapping an arm around each of them as they talked. Well....Silas babbled, Liz was a bit more socially acceptable, but to be honest, both methods of communication were equally endearing. Though, they were his kids, so he supposed he could be a bit biased. Oh, well. He threw Mari an amused glance when she let out her breath, figuring she'd be tired after managing both the kids and his sorry ass for the past....however long it had been like this. The days had all honestly started to blend together. But for now...it was certainly nice to interact with the kids like this again. He knew he'd get tired again soon...he was tired now. But, it raised his spirits quite a bit, so it was just really nice to have them here with him. It wasn't long before Liz fell asleep on his chest, as the girl was still somewhat young. Silas quieted after that, whispering to him until he too settled against his side and his bretahign evened out. Once he noted the kids were out, it really didn't take much for Sage himself to pass out, as his brain felt like it had run a marathon with Silas talking. He'd enjoyed it though...they all had.

The woman watched her family with a little smile across her face, though when she noticed them all passing out, she could just chuckle, and moved to pick Liz up to settle her down in bed, then did the same with Silas before grabbing a blanket for Sage. She gently layed him down on the couch, and soon enough moved to tuck the blanket around him so that he stayed settled. She smiled softly, moving to peck his nose before going to make him some tea for when he woke up, then do some work on the house... just clearing up and making dinner for that evening.

Sage had barely moved as Mari grabbed the kids and settled them down in bed, only moving to curl up into the blanket when she settled him down on the couch. He stayed that way for maybe three hours or so, shifting when he heard Mari at work in the kitchen again, sitting up after a few minutes and running a hand over his face, givign the woman a tired smile when she noticed the movement. "the kids all settled," he asked somewhat groggily, nodding when she said they were all cozy in bed. "Help me to the art room," he asked after a bit, more awake after a few minutes of talking and more than ready to finish the painting he'd worked on the other day...it was almost done, and he did know they had to sell enough art to support them while he couldn't work with the horses.

The woman gave a small chuckle when she heard Sage, and gave a happy little hum. "Yeah, they were pretty tired. I figured that if they could fall asleep on you then they needed a proper rest," she mused before giving a nod and offering him her hands. "Yeah. But let's see if you can get it done yourself, hm?" She asked with a small smile before helping him up. "See if you can walk over there. You managed to get down the stairs so id imagine you can walk in a straight line," she chuckled lightly.

Sage chuckled softly in response to the comment about the kids, nodding when she said they were good in bed. "Good," he humemd with a sigh, then gave Mari a sort of groan when she said he should try himself. "You're awful," he grumbled, though he obviously wasn't mad at her. He sighed, though, and held his hands out for her to help him up. "At least help me get up and steady before you release me into the wild," he noted with a sort of chuckle. "I had help walking down the stairs," he added with an eye roll, rather amused with it all.

The woman gave a small chuckle to him before nodding and giving him a hand up. "Yeah, but stairs are hard," she mused lightly to him, once he was up then patting his back. "And I'll walk with you if you need me," she mused, sort of guiding him along to his little cove that was his art office. "See? That wasn't so bad," she reassuered him before moving to peck his nose. "Need anything?" She offered softly.

Sage sort of just groaned in response to her comment, but knew she was right....he had to do this or he'd never get back on his feet. He steadied himself as she let go, biting his lip as he moved to try and take a few small steps. He fell back into Mari every couple of steps or so, and had to take a break here and there. But, he eventually got to the art nook he had, and collapsed onto his chair with an exhausted wheeze. "A new body," he snorted in response to her comment before shaking his head and giving her a small smile. "I'll be fine, I just need to sit down for a second before I start anything," he promised her lightly, pulling her in to peck her lips before releasing her.
