The woman gave a small nod in agreement. "I had a good time, yeah... didn't want to come back for a moment there," she mused, the thought more amusing than anything. She'd never actually do that, of course, she couldn't image what that would do to Sage and the kids, but again, it was an amusing thought. "It was nice coming back in though,," she chuckled gently after a moment, sort of moving to run her nails gently through his hair.

Sage had chuckled lightly in response to her comment, grinning over at her lightly when she mention she'd had a good time. "Good," he mused with a chuckle. "You deserve to go have some fun with three kids in the house, one of which is bigger than you," he laughed, pecking her cheek when she mentioned she was glad to come home. "Good, because it's bedtime and I was not going to try and bring Chaos into our bedroom," he chuckled, sort of moving to half sit up and waiting for Mari to move to help him up.

The woman gave a small chuckle after a moment before moving to peck the tip of his nose. "You've always been a big kid. Only now I have to take you everywhere too," she mused gently to him before moving to offer him her hands. "Come on then, bed time baby," she mused, hoisting him up and helping him get changed before watching him flop down in bed. "Need anyhing or you good?" she asked him gently before quickly getting changed and flopping down on the bed.

Sage had grinned over ast Mari in response to her comment, laughing softly and shaking his head at her next comments, moving to get up and lean against her when she held her hamds out for him. "I'll be alright," he mused, figuring he hadn't really done anything to warrent a shower that day. He'd just sat outside and painted. He'd washed his hands and such, so there was nothing on him, and, well.....he was tired. So he really just wanted to go to sleep. So, he flopped down next to mari happily after a moment, curling up under the covers and passing out pretty much right away. He supposed that was one good thing....he slept well now.

The woman gave a small hum to him when he said he was okay, and gave him a happy little grin as she settled down. She sort of smiled to him after a moment, letting him curl up next to her. She let out a soft breath of air... she supposed he'd better start rehabbing at somepoint. Walking himself and things. She didn't really want to see him struggle, but it wasn't really the walking that was a problem... the issue more being that they couldn't bend over, pick things up or move his arms as freely as he normally might.

Sage was more than happy to settle down with her, curling up and resting his nose in her hair and wrapping his arms around her gently. He did wonder what instructions the doctor had given Mari in terms of when he could go do stuff. It seemed like he was healing well....but he was definitely still restricted. Everything took a lot of effort, and his chest still hurts pretty often. He'd stopped taking pain meds, as he sort of liked to feel when he was straining himself too much, but at the same time he didn't want to do much as it hurt a decent bit still. He eventually chose to just ignore his brain and go to sleep though, passing out rather quickly once he'd settled down.

The woman sort of just layed there, her hand trailing softly up and down his back as she tried to figure out a plan as to what they should do going forward. He needed to start strengthening up more. Lifting things and such. She could help him so much, but helping him every moment of the day would get tiresom. He didn't like being helped so much either, although he was getting better at accepting it. She sort of looked down at him after a moment, a little smile spreading across her face when she noticed him asleep. She was definately glad that he was sleeping better now... it had taken years for him to settle so quickly. Soon enough, though, she sort of just passed out, more than greatful for the rest.

Sage slept well, as per usual by then, stirring slightly around ten o'clock in the morning, peering through the window to see the sun and then flop his head back down with a tired sigh. He lay there for a while before moving to half sit up and peer around the room. He could hear Mari downstairs with the kids, getting breakfast, so he sighed after a moment and moved to take a hold of the headboard and haul himself to his feet, alibet somewhat unsteadily. He eventually made his way to the bathroom, using various things to steady him as he went. He got there eventually, sitting on the toilet for a few minutes to catch his breath before doing what he needed to do, taking another few minutes to rest before making his way back to the bed, flopping onto it, breathless but stupidly pleased with himself.

The woman got up sort of early the next morning, sort of using the same routine as the last morning. Get up, make some breakfast for herself and the kids, and then made a bigger breakfast for Sage since he'd been ravnous recently. She padded upstairs after a little while, just to find Sage on the bed grinning at himself. She sort of raised a brow and placed his breakfast on the bedside table. "You look pleased," she mused lightly before flopping back down on the bed next to him. "Last time I saw you grinning like that you'd killed someone," she mused lightly to him.

Sage sort of just sat around for a while looking up at Mari when she came in, moving to sit up and lean against the headboard so he could grab the plate and start eating, as he was rather hungry. "It seems stupid to be so happy about getting to the bathroom on my own, you know," he snorted, poking her lightly in the side. "Dont have to rub it in," he added lightly before shoving more food in his mouth. He obviously wasn't upset, and she'd know that...but he could still tease her. Besides, he was rather proud of himself, so there was that too. His chest hurt, but he didn't really care at this point.
