Sage groaned when she mentioned the bad council, sighing softly as they continued walking since Liz wanted to look at more shops and such. "That's not very helpful," he grumbled. When elara mentioned he'd promised to make changes though, he nodded along. "Good. Enough of us have a hard time without our own government oppressing us," he snorted then three her a somewhat sheepish look. "Though, you and your brother were always nice to me." Then he reconsidered. "Well, except maybe for when we first met," he teased gently, recalling how she'd grabbed his face and immediately threatened him off he were to mess up.

Elara chuckled at his words, genuinely happy to be around him now and her eyes memorizing his features, glancing back infront of her to make sure she wouldn't run into anything before looking back at him, eyes widening slightly as she laughed. "Hey, I had very different opinions back then. If past me could see me now, she'd probably be disgusted."

Sage chuckled softly and nodded. "oh, I know," he mused. "Old you would've killed me off a while ago," he added with a grin. "Gotta say, I like the new you much better," he added, moving to grab hold of Liz's hand again before she ran off too far.

"Wouldn't be surprised if old me did, don't think she'd ever had wanted to leave the castle, probably would've crawled back to the castle if it weren't for you." She noted softly, grinning over at him when he mentioned he liked the new her better. "I definitely like the new version of you, less arrogant, will say."

Sage hummed softly in agreement, nodding along. "I think I like the new me better too," he admitted. "He's happier." This life was much better than whatever it was he'd had going on before.

"I agree with that," She hummed softly, getting drawn towards a vendor selling fresh berries.

Sage humemd in agreement, drifting towards the stall with her. He continued to think about how much they'd changed. He'd changed. He was rather happy with how it was turning out.

Elara grabbed some of the fruit they all agreed on getting, paying the price before waiting patiently as the old man running the stand counted them, putting the coins away as he bagged the fruit before handing it off. She thanked the man, the trio all walking back into the crowd. The woman took note of all the guards watching the streets, tensing everytime they passed by one.

Sage made sure to wander through the market in a way that kept them from guards as much as possible, but of course avoiding them completely was impossible. It would also look suspicious. He moved to take the bag from Elara once the fruit was bought, tossing it lightly over his shoulder and holding it there as he walked.

"Anything else you want to get or do while we're here? Might as well make the most of it, won't have a reason to come for a little while since we'll have all the food." She noted, hand brushing his when he took the bag, keeping it there for a moment before pulling away, glancing up at him with a warm expression, Varys at her side.
