Ajax smiled and rested his head against the top of hers. "Good." He answered with a small laugh, lifting his head a little as two thumps echoed outside. "If you didn't notice, they are here." He pointed out slowly, hearing footsteps approaching. +++ Goose was thrilled when Ajax invited them over, and he immediately flew that way. Landing in the grass, he walked towards the door and knocked before opening it. Seeing Ajax and Mercy he stifled a snort. "Lovebirds." Goose mouthed teasingly, sauntering in and sniffing the air. "Is that hamburger helper with real deer meat I smell? Going all out tonight, ain't ya?" He asked Ajax with a wide grin. +++ Rooster landed silently and walked in, standing in the back. He nodded a hello to Ajax and Mercy.

Mercy settled eagerly against him with a smile as he rested his head on hers. "I noticed." She chuckled, watching the door as Goose walked in. She rolled her eyes at Goose's reaction. "Hello to you too, Goose." She said playfully, chuckling at him and waving to Rooster, still keeping Ajax close to her. "Hey, Rooster." She called lightly, offering a smile and keeping her head rested against Ajax's chest. Binx seemed utterly thrilled at the two new appearances, immiediately brushing against Rooster's feet before scurrying to do the same to Goose. Letting out high pitched cries for attention every other second.

Ajax rolled his eyes and shot his famous death glare at Goose before nodding back at Rooster. "Yes, it is hamburger helper with real deer meat. And that isn't all out, if you actually found your brain and learned how to cook you would understand." Ajax snickered. +++ Goose waved to Mercy before turning to Ajax- which honestly meant he didn't turn at all because that were right next to each other. "Hey! If you learned how to... how to... how... to... to... uh... er..." Goose trailed off, trying to think of something he could do Ajax couldn't. "Um, if you learned how to burb the national anthem maybe you would be better too." He huffed defensively, yelping as he heard a meow and immediately shooting up the the ceiling, his golden wings sending air swirling. "AJAX- YOU HAVE A CAT IN YOUR HOUSE." Goose squeaked. "Have you gone mad?" He inquired, not daring to land but instead clinging to the rafters. +++ Rooster stayed emotionless until the cat started rubbing up next to him. He let out a small snort at Goose's reaction and knelt down, scratching the cat's neck, right where it usually itched. A small smile came to his face as he pet the cat. "Good cat you got here. Mercy is a good influence on you, Ajax." He spoke quietly.

Mercy snickered slightly at Ajax's response, smiling as he stayed settled in her arms. It was comforting to know he wasn't embarrassed by being with her in front of his friends. She raised her eyebrows at Goose once he finally stuttered out his words, grinning in surprise. "You can burp the national anth- Wait, no. I don't wanna know." She amended quickly, scrunching up her face and lifting her head before she relaxed again. She watched him jump into the ceiling with an amused look on her face, giggling at him. "Have you? You're the one sitting in the rafters because of a cat." She teased. She brought her gaze to Rooster and grinned at him as he pet Binx. He didn't often speak, but when he did, it meant something. And those words meant somewhat a lot to her- along with the fact that he didn't treat her cat like it was the bane of all existence. "Thanks. I like to think he's pretty awesome." She offered. Binx stared up at Goose, his yellow eyes wide and alert. He let out a rapid chattering noise and pawed toward the roof until Rooster gave him attention. Then, he settled for the affection he was getting.

Ajax let out a loud hoot of laughter as Goose flew up to the rafters. "Hey, don't damage my roof. That darn thing took months to build." He barked up to the ceiling, turning to look at Rooster and wrinkling his nose slightly. How was it that big fiery red hair Rooster liked cats? It made no sense. "The meat is going to burn. Don't rip my arm off as I slip away." He joked a little, knowing Mercy had a tendency to hold on rather tight. Walking over to the burner he stirred up the meat, poured water in the noodles, and started seasoning it. +++ "Hey! You don't like cats either, or you didn't used to!" Goose hissed at Ajax, huffing at Mercy as he perched on the beams. "Yes, I can burb the national anthem and no more talking about that. It is not MY fault cats are revolting and scary and everything." He growled weakly. At Ajax's words about the roof, Goose grabbed the beam and swung down, landing on the floor with a thud. "Keep it away from me." He warned, going to the other side of the room. +++ Rooster nodded in response, shifting slightly to get more comfortable as he continued petting the cat- he knew how cat's were. They would sit there until they were content and then leave without a second glance, so he was prepared to stand back up if this cat left.

"No promises." Mercy warned teasingly, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek as he slipped away. She glared up at Goose as he started insulting cats, huffing. "You're revolting, but I can't quite say you're scary. I put up with you just fine. The least you can do is deal with my cat." She spat back semi-playfully, watching Binx intently. As soon as Binx realized his target had come down, he brushed around Rooster's ankles once more and ran to the kitchen, brushing around Ajax's ankles before he sprinted after Goose.

Ajax was trying the whole time not to just break out in laughter. He had gotten used to the fact Binx was a thing. "This *revolting creature* you are talking about was the tiebreaker between Mercy actually coming to live here and staying in that apartment. SO two things- its name is Binx, and he is the reason I am living with her so I pretty much owe my life to that *filthy animal*" Ajax pointed out, dishing up five plates. "The food is ready." +++ Goose looked at Ajax, looking thoughtful for a moment. "It has a NAME!?" He finally exclaimed, shivering as the cat came closer to him. "Shoo, or I swear on my life I will climb on the table." Goose hissed, sounding much like a cat himself.

Mercy grinned at Ajax as he stood on the whole Binx matter, sticking her tongue out at Goose. She wrinkled her nose as he spoke again, slipping off the counter. "Sometimes, I'm amazed your mother bothered naming you in the first place." She said flatly, sitting at the table next to Ajax. "Goose, if you climb on this table, you will find yourself flying out a window-" She huffed, watching Binx leap into her lap.

Ajax wasn't going to wait for the hooligan to calm down and sit down, so he sat down right away to avoid being stepped on as Goose jumped behind him when the cat came running over to Mercy. "I agree. What was your name again, Goose?" He asked teasingly, stabbing the pasta with a fork as he waited. +++ Goose looked utterly upset as Binx ran over and he jumped behind Ajax, but the bigger man had already sat down. At Mercy's words and Ajax's question, Goose just glared. "Burt... my name was Burt." He muttered with a shudder. "Why do you think I use the code name Goose? Yeesh. What self respecting parent in their right mind would name their poor innocent son Burt?" Goose whimpered, sitting down to eat. +++ Rooster quietly came over to eat, but he smiled a little as Goose said what his name had been. Rooster only used his code name because he wanted to forget his old life. His name had been Hamish, which was a rare Scottish Gaelic name that meant strong hero. (I am planning such a big surprise. You will never be able to guess it muah haha. After the dinner ima have Goose and Rooster leave, then the surprise will show itself) Edited at January 21, 2024 08:41 PM by Wild West Warmbloods

Oooohohohohoho I love surprises)) Mercy stroked Binx with one hand and ate with the other, sending the occasional glare at Goose. She raised her eyebrows at Ajax's question, grinning because she knew it had to be horrible. She barely kept herself from choking on laughter when Goose stated his real name. She had to abandon everything and laugh for a few seconds before she managed a response. "God, your parents must have hated you. Then again, what self respecting man chooses to name himself Goose?" She joked, offering Rooster a smile. After, she went back to eating and petting Binx- until the cat decided it was time to sit in Ajax's lap.
