The doctor nodded in response to Anya's question. "He'll be fine. I knocked him out to do surgery on his shoulder since part of the bone was shattered." He gathered his bags and looked over the boy once more. "His other....injuries .... Will heal over time as his body catches up " he walked out and closed the door behind him, leaving the two teens alone in the room. Sage stirred and woke up about ten minutes later. He saw Anya before anything else. 'you look horrible," he croaked teasingly.

Anya raised a brow at him, a tiny smile at his teasing. She had barely heard him talk in weeks... the sound of his voice, although croaky, was so... how do you put it? Lulling, maybe. "I feel horrible. I doubt you'd want this all over you now," She murmured, giving a weak chuckle. The doctor seemed to have noticed, purely from the way he had described the marks along his neck. "You, on the other hand, look a lot better than I do. I take it you feel a little better?" She almost whispered, leaning back a little. He did look better. He had a little colour in his cheeks, which was more than she could say for herself.

Sage snorted, amused, and shrugged. "I'm alive," he simply stated. He wasn't sure if that was good or bad yet, though at the time when he could have given up and slipped away quietly, he hadn't wanted to let himself go. "And you're alive, which is good. They kept you alive, though you still look half dead," he teased. "Still pretty though," he murmured. Was he already complimenting her? Huh. Either way, he was glad she was fine, alibet tired and hungry. "Once you eat you'll feel better." He reached and patted her leg, which was the easiest thing to reach. In all honesty, he could care less if she was 'all over him' as she had said. He didn't think either of them had much energy, and they both still felt horrible, so he doubted it would happen, but he definitely wouldn't mind if it did

Anya gave a slight shrug. "I've had a little something already. I kind of struggled to keep anything down." She murmured thoughtfully. He didn't really need to know that. Oh well. She wrinkled her nose at his little compliment. She wasn't really sure how to react to it, though. She quite literally looked like death its self, so there was no way she would look even remotely good. Still, she offered a soft smile. "You look as ruggedly handsome as ever. With emphasis on the rugged." She mocked quietly. He looked a little better than her in the sense that he wasn't green, but he still looked a little off. "Did someone bring you anything to eat? I did ask them to." She murmured thoughtfully.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "That's expected." He shrugged. "I dunno, I've been asleep the entire time I've been here. The doctor gave me something but that was more of a shiver whatever you can down a tube into my body instead of here eat something," he chuckled. He rolled over onto his uninjured arm onto his side, facing Anya and propped his head up on his forearm. "I still kinda feel like death, I don't think I could keep anything down right now either," he admitted. (I was thinking that some type of rebellion or war has started while they were in the cell, and they're having a war meeting and sage kinda accidentally pops in and then critiques a battle plan and the queen asks him to help train soldiers or something? Idk I had an idea and wanted to ask before I forgot it lol) Edited at September 8, 2022 12:27 PM by NightClan

Anya nodded slightly, taking a small look around. There wasn't a platter anywhere, which mean that no one had shown up for him. She gave a small frown. She had definitely asked, so it did make her a little angry that there was nothing there for him. The doctor wasn't likely to turn any of the maids away while treating someone, so food should have been covered up on the side somewhere. She furrowed her brows slightly. "As long as you've had something." She murmured quietly. She watched as he shifted for a moment, her gaze softening again. "I missed hearing your voice," she noted quietly, trying another smile, but it didn't work too good.

Sage grinned, amused at that comment. "I barely have it back though," he laughed, shaking his head a bit. He cocked his head slightly. 'how are you holding up though? You had it pretty rough out there." It wasn't every dady she was kidnapped and thrown in a cell that was practically a box. (It's a bit short lol)

Anya shook her head slightly. "I... I'm fine, really. Everything kind of hurts, and I honestly don't remember very much. But I think watching you bleed out was worse than everything else. I can't imagine how you must have felt." She murmured thoughtfully, looking at her hands as she remembered all the blood. "I kind of wished I just never came out." No... she didn't mean that. Not really, but it was a thought that never stopped running through her head. Then again, if she didn't come out, then she would have never gotten that night with Sage. She tilted her head at him slightly as she inspected his neck. Had those marks still not gone? God, he really must have been struggling. "I'm surprised they've not gone yet." She murmured quietly. She shook her head at him with a small chuckle. "But you're voice is beautiful," she noted teasingly.

Sage snorted out a laugh and shrugged. "The thing about humans, is that if you lose enough blood you can't do shit. Like, blood forms scabs which turn into new cells to heal stuff. I was bleeding out and couldn't make more blood because I couldn't eat so I couldn't heal." He made a face. "Sometimes it's just a nasty cycle." It was true, but he did want to make sure that Anya knew it wasn't because she'd hurt him...he was just half dead and couldn't heal well. "It'll be gone in a few days probably. Well, not the scars but you know what I mean." He grinned over at her. "Im not sure I believe it was your first time," he teased her.

Anya raised a brow at him, a light flush growing on her face. She didn't really know what to say for a moment, her head tilting slightly. "I only did what you told me to," she grunted, gently flicking his side. "And I'd hope your scars don't leave you soon. I worked damn hard on them." She grumbled, rolling her eyes teasingly. It was true, and she really didn't have a clue what she was doing... but if it felt good, then she just went with that. She squinted her eyes for a moment, "probably helped you got into it quite early on... god, Sage, you should have heard the sounds you were making." She giggled in a purely teasing manner.
