The woman just let a soft sigh escape her. "We'll figure it out. For now, Anthony has them sorted and we need to make sure you heal well enough. I can have the art you've done sent off and bring you some canvases... put your prices up, I'm sure we'll live," she hummed gently to him. She just wanted him to get better... they could handle everything else when need be. Anthony would help, but she just didn't want to rely on him so much. Sh shook her head before giving him a gentle squeeze. "Just rest for now," she muttered softly.

Sage had sort of hummed lightly in response to her comments, nodding when she said she could bring some of his art stuff here. It would make sense, he supposed....he may as well do something while he was laying in bed. He still had a cough, though it certainly wasn't as bad as it was....but he did try to hodm them back, mostly because the stitches on his chest strained with each cough, and he really didn't feel like doing an accidental thoracotomy on himself because of it. He let out a sort of tired grunt when she told him to rest, though it came out more as a breath of air. Oh well, he didn't care much by then, as he was already pretty much fully passed out again.

The woman let out a soft breath when he went to lean against her, and just sort of buried her nose into his neck as he leaned against her chest. All she readily wanted was for him to feel good... better, anyway. She gave a small sigh before gently moving to slide out from behind him, ensuring he was settled down before wandering off to find the doctor. She hated asking the man for help, but she did think they were going to need it.

Sage had passed out pretty quickly once he'd relaxed, listening to Maris heartbeat until he's fallen asleep. He didn't move when she slipped out from underneath him, which was rather abnormal for him. Then again, he was rather exhausted physically at the moment.

The doctor was in his office when Mari found him, and he welcomed the girl happily, murmuring a quick "how's he doing," to her as he finished jotting down some notes about other patients in his notebook.

The woman gave a small sigh at his comments before shaking her head. "He says he's fine. But he's too worried about the not so important things right now," she murmured softly. "If you could go and make sure he'd actually okay, that would be amazing," she then murmured gently to him with a little smile. "He talks a lot but it doesn't mean much. He'll always say he's okay even if he's really not," she hummed quietly.

The doctor chuckled lightly and nodded, sitting back in his chair. "Well, the fact that he's talking is a good sign. And I haven't heard him coughing up a lung in there with you either," he reminded her gently. "I'll do a thorough workout once he wakes back up," he reassured her with a nod. "He's stubborn, that'll never change," he agreed with her, in a somewhat amused tone of voice. "Either way he'd better stay off his feet for a while," he sighed.

The woman gave a small smile before giving a chuckle. "Oh, he's never stopped talking," she mused softly. "But he is sleeping now," she then added with a small smile. "And he's always going to be stubborn, but I think if you have him talking he may react better," she mused gently to him. "Explain to him what happened better than I can, maybe... he's worried about things that are way off in the future. Just take his mind off it if you can," she hummed gently.

The doctor chuckled and leaned back in his chair. "Never stopped talking," he mused. "you should have seen him when he first came to the castle," he mused. She'd seen it pretty close to what it was like, when he was alone in the ward. When she'd first met him. He really had come a long way, and he was proud of the effort he'd made to do so. He nodded when she kept talking though, and he moved to give her a small smile. "Don't worry, we'll figure it all out," he reassured her. The boy was stubborn, yes, but he was also smart. "He won't do anything stupid. Not with you and the kids on the line," he reminded her gently.

The woman nodded, knowing the doctor was more than right. And she definitely didn't think the talking was a bad thing. She loved talking to him anyway, but the sound of his voice on this particular day was a sound she was just so, so grateful to hear. She grinned over at him with a nod. "Oh, I've heard what's he's like, and trust me I'm not complaining about the way he is now," she mused lightly, flashing a bigger grin. She furrowed her brows a little, knowing he was right. She knew they'd figure it all out. She knew they'd work things out together, but she didn't want Sage overthinking or working himself. "Sage doesn't want to do anything that might not go well... and that's sort of part of the problem. He's how we survive. We can't live without him, and at the moment he's out of commission and..." she sort of trailed off after a moment before shaking her head. She didn't need to worry too much about it, hopefully.

The doctor had chuckled in response to her comments, nodding lightly before nodding in understanding in response to her worries. He'd known this would be an issue....which was why he'd mentioned that he was back and in the ward to Anya. The hope was that the girl would visit and they could figure something out as Anya was always willing to help and obviously had a surplus of...well, everything. She was pretty much the queen now, as the current king and queen were pretty much almost out of commission by now. "I know," he hummed. "Have you two talked about what should happen if something unexpected happens and he isn't around," he asked gently, moving to sit down next to the girl. "It's something good to have settled," he added with a shrug. "Talk about it in the future sometime though, not now," he chided. The boy didn't need to feel like she couldn't rely on him for money, that wouldn't help anybody.
