Free healthcare for all is radical but three people holding a combined trillion dollars is not

It's truly awful what the healthcare system is like in USA currently. I feel awful for everyone having to navigate all of that💔

And the fact that "free medical care for all" is a "radical" idea is. Just sad.

I think it was around 6k out of pocket when everything was said and done. 65k for a failed induction (my doctor's idea) and then the c-section (didn't have a choice)

Also, protip for medication prior auths: most of the time it's because the doctor doesn't send in the requested information. Pester yo doctors

Interesting. It's so... I want to say barbaric that people would rather die than visit the hospital because they don't want to put themselves and/or their families into crippling debt
FirstLightFarms

First off, it shouldn't actually cost 65k to have a baby. What you actually paid out of pocket is probably the real cost and then they just pad the shit out of it because they can because insurance
The Old Gods

Depends on the insurance and the type of blood draw. I've had to do co-pay for some, others were paid. Also depended on if I'd met my yearly deductable

I can't remember how much mine was, but it DEFINITELY wasn't 4k. And I got more done than just medicine and being sent home. That's insane

Because a lot of people wouldn't get their fat profits if we switched to a healthcare system that made sense, and those boys really need their 3-4 yachts

As someone who works in healthcare, let your bills go to claims. It's a HIPAA violation for them to come after you.

Question for the Americans in chat: do you have to pay a crapload for blood draws? I get them monthly for thyroid monitoring and can walk in and out of the lab within 20 minutes and pay nothing.

I never understood how a first world country like the states has healthcare that people can't go to the hospital for help due to funds

I think my last ER visit was $4k, WITH INSURANCE, to sit unconscious in their hallway for 6 hours and then be sent home with anti nausea medication.

Sage could feel that Quinn was still a bit nervous, but he figured letting her relax was the best thing. It was happening slowly, and they were laying around together, so she'd calm down in a bit. It was understandable though, why it had upset them.

Quinn relaxed a little more as time went on. She glanced at the river, then occupied herself with counting bird species flying through the air. Extra two points for every raptor, extra three for a bald eagle. Quinn watched and watched and watched till she was finally up to a mental score of fifty...

Sage continued to watch the horses play until he grew content to close his eyes and just lay there. He could tell she'd relaxed by then, which was a bit of a relief. He didn't want her to be upset.

Quinn glanced down at Sage, smiling a little when he saw him close his he's. Her gaze kept flitting around the forest though, having the ever moving brain she did.

Sage could tell Quinn was still very much awake, which was fine. He was just enjoying the sun...it had been so long since he'd been able to just lay in the sun and let it warm his body. He'd forgotten how much he missed it. And being cuddled up with Quinn made it even better.

Quinn glanced down at Sage again, stifling a chuckle. He looked very relaxed... and happy... and warm. She wished she could just relax like that, but her brain wouldn't allow her to. "You look content." Quinn smiled, closing her eyes a moment and just trying to sit still and let the sun warm her up

Sage twitched his ears slightly when he heard the girl comment and chuckled slightly with a nod. "It's nice out," he hummed. "And I haven't been in the sun like this for quite some time," he admitted rather sheepishly. Man, he hated being hurt.

Quinn laughed slightly, looking at Sage. "I don't know how to sit still for so long in the sun... don't you get hot? I would say you're more like a cold blooded lizard than a wolf." Quinn teased, shifting so she was more comfortable.

Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged. "I get cold easy. I don't exactly have the fur coat part of me needs," he pointed out lightly, opening his eyes and shifting so he could look up at the girl. "I like the summer....I hate being cold, and unless it's nice and warm and sunny I get really cold really quick," he chuckled lightly. It was normally a bit chilly in the cave ...not uncomfortable in any way, just not very warm. So the sun was nice.

Quinn shook her head. "I like the cold.. but I understand your point. The sun does feel nice." She smiled, brushing a rogue strand of hair out of her face. She closed her eyes and just tried to enjoy the peace, silence, and warmth
