Ajax snickered at Mercy's expression, laughing a little at her joke. "The funniest part- it is true!" He grinned. "And since I'm getting better at the flattery part I might be getting a lot of places." He joked right back, looking at the trees out of the corner of his eye. "You are lucky. I neeeever doted on Lydia the way I pour love on you." Ajax teased, his eyes twinkling as he sat up. +wasn't worth it+ he thought, but since he was up he wasn't moving again.

Mercy simply snickered at him and shook her head, grinning like a fool. "You might be. Hey, keep at it, we might get married some day." She said sarcastically, laughing as he continued. "Oh, you can dote and pour love on me all you want. I'll enjoy it much more than She ever would." She smiled, feeling a stab of spite for the other woman. The slightest of possessive urges took her over for a few moments. She sat up with him, curling her arms around him and settling her head against his neck. "I'll never treat you the way She did. You deserve so, so much better." She muttered, keeping a somewhat tight grip on him.

(Here Mercy is, being protective over a demon because he mentioned the name of a DEAD GIRL)

Ajax let out a snort of slight surprise at her words. His mind quickly got flooded and drowned with thoughts. Married? Quickly, as usual when Ajax didn't know how to deal with a thought it happened to turn into a joke... so he immediately started thinking of what the wedding would be like. Goose and Rooster wearing all black like they were going to a funeral but looking happy. Wait, no, Goose couldn't wear black- he might die. Or, if they would be alone, it would definitely be black and white. Or, holy guacamole, had a demon and an angel ever gotten married before? Wait, oh gosh, had anyone ever gotten married after they died? As this ran through Ajax's mind his eyebrows furrowed a bit, but he finally put the thoughts aside after insuring himself it was just a joke. "I'm sure you would, and I'm sure I will." He laughed, coming back to reality. Since Ajax was (surprisingly) really good at deciphering emotion, he could see the slight change in Mercy's demeanor. She looked... almost a little angry, and she started tightening her grip on him. "I probably don't deserve any better, but look what I ended up with." He joked a little, but then paused and continued quietly. "I know. I love you for that and everything else, Mercy." Ajax murmured softly, his boring into the deck.

Mercy chuckled at his shock over her first comment, practically able to see the gears turning in his head. She had meant it... mainly as a joke, but she was a bit serious at the same time. As he continued, she let out a small laugh. "Good." She nodded lightly. She furrowed her brows at his words. "You do. I know you do. And I love you too." She added softly, pressing a light kiss to his cheek.

(Rust if poofing out his ears from the gears turning that haven't turned in years. Guess what caused them to turn? The thought of getting married. That describes: Ajax. XD)

Ajax smiled as Mercy spoke, knowing that she would like it. Hey, he was loyal and devoted. Even if that meant changing his entire personality. At her second sentence, after she furrowed her brows, Ajax sighed and little and stared at his hands for a moment. "I know you love me, it is ssoooo obvious from your adoring cuddly gaze." He teased, mostly because he didn't want to dwell on the last thought.

He has gears to turn? I thought he lost those lol))

"You don't have to tease me just because I think you're the greatest thing on Earth. Of course I adore you." Mercy said stubbornly, curling closer to him. "You're pretty awesome to me, no matter what you think, love." She chuckled.

Ajax smiled, putting an arm around Mercy. "Why thank you. It won't stop me from teasing you, but your words are touching." He really meant that- the thought that to someone on the planet earth thought he was better than a piece a dirt was comforting. "Okay okay, I'm pretty awesome to you. I admit it." Ajax joked, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "You are pretty awesome too."

Mercy settled eagerly into his arm, closing her eyes. "Of course it won't. At least I know you accept the compliment, though." She chuckled, letting out a slight laugh at his next comment. "So humble, as always." She teased, leaning into his kiss. "Thanks. I always thought I was pretty cool." She joked.

Ajax grinned at what Mercy said. "Nothing you can do will stop the teasing." He announced with an amazingly pleased look on his face. "But yes, I accept your compliment. And yes again, I am 100 percent humble." He joked, snorting at her last comment. "Uh huh. Thanks for pointing it out, miss humble-yourself." He rolled his eyes teasingly, looking into the sky as the sun started to set.

"Of course. Nothing could ever curb your need to tease." Mercy joked, chuckling at the satisfied look on his features. "Of course, of course." She scoffed, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "Anytime. Now, are we gonna sit out here for the rest of our day, or?"
