Sage paused when she offered him the shirt, sighing before reaching for it. "You're probably right," he noted, shrugging it over his shoulders and then lifting them in a shrug. "Its the same normal stuff....sometimes it just gets to me more," he murmured, face flushing slightly. "Dad used to lock me up in the cabinets when he was fed up with me. Just needed to get where there were four walls around me, where I could move," he explained.

Elara nodded, taking a few steps into the moonlight, now shifting to face him and drape her arms across the railing. "I'm sorry about that, do you feel better now that you're out here though?"

Sage hummed softly before nodding. "Not your fault. Can't change the past anyhow," he noted. "But getting outside does help. I suppose that's why I always preferred moving around, staying in the streets."

"Makes sense, with everything that's happened to you," She said softly, imagining what his father was like.

Sage hummed softly, leaning on the railing next to her after a moment, having calmed down a lot. His heart was still racing, but he was slowly calming down. "Shouldn't matter by now....I can't imagine he hasn't drunk himself to death by now," he noted.

"Oh," Elara murmured, seeing how much closer he was to her now.

Sage shook his head after a moment, pushing his thoughts away. "I shouldn't be bothering you with all this," he murmured, shooting her an apologetic look. "I know it's a lot."

"It's fine, i'm always here if you need to talk." She said softly, touching his arm in hopefully a comforting way, smiling warmly before turning to head back inside, pausing in the doorway. "If you want to talk again, don't mind waking me up."

Sage went still when she rested her hand on his arm, the touch somehow grounding him in a way he hadnt had before. His pulse had sped back up too, of course, but, he didn't think that was because of the dream. He smiled back at her though, offering her a small nod of confirmation. "Thanks," he noted softly, looking back out at the woods as she slipped back into the cabin. He went back in a while later, once it got too cold, and slipped back into his chair. Once he settled in under the blankets he fell asleep rather easily, too, which was probably a good thing.

Elara had slipped back inside, pulling the covers over her once more as she thought about the exchange. He'd trusted her enough to share things she wasn't sure he was comfortable saying, and the way he'd gone still when she touched him, had he been comforted? Or had he felt something else. . . with that she drifted off.
