The girl sort of hummed in response. "Bestest," she repeated with a bit of a laugh. It was kind of fun to say, and it did amuse her that the boy found something so simple to amusing. She smiled over at him and sort of rolled over so that she was half leaning on him, and moved to peck his lips playfully after a few moments. "I wouldn't want to be gone. And I certainly hope you're the bestest husband I'm never going to have," she hummed softly. It was true, though. She never wanted anything or one more than Sage, and if she wasn't her husband, then he'd be gone too, and she'd never want that. She definitely loved the little life they'd managed to make up for themselves over the years.

Sage sort of just shook his head in amusement that the girl found him saying the word so amusing. It was sort of funny, he supposed, but he also wasn't the most literate person on the planet, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to either of them. It was just all amusing, he supposed. He grinned up at her in response to her comment, pecking her cheek after the initial kiss. "Well I don't plan on leaving you anytime soon," he mused happily. "I have to make sure you stay in line," he teased her, knowing full well she was the one who had settled him down more than anything. But he could tease.

The woman gave a happy little grin when he pecked his cheek, and sort of moved to run her hands softly up and down his torso, drawing lines and shapes here and there to entertain herself. "I was hoping you weren't planning to leave anyway," she mused childishly after a moment, pecking his lips again. She then pouted at him childishly. "Oh, Sage..." she trailed off, thoughtful on what she was going to say before realising what he'd just said. "Please! If I wasn't here you'd never be on the line in the first place, never mind staying on it," she laughed childishly.

Sage sort of just lounged there, grinning over at the girl while she tried to amuse herself, sort of chuckling in response to her comments. "Maybe," he mused. "or maybe I'm secretly keeping you settled down and not running around in the woods like a madwoman," he teased her lightly, nudging her since gently. She was right though, and they both knew it.

The woman sort of shook her head before giving a small chuckle. "Or maybe you're the reason I might run into the woods like a mad woman," she mused softly to him before moving to peck his lips. She was happy here, though... it was nice that she could just mess about with him. Of course, it would never be the same as when they first met... though sometimes she wished it was. She loved him more than anything, and she knew he loved her too, but the feeling she got when they'd first got together was something she could never forget. Maybe that was why she always tried to keep on entering him. Make him laugh at her the same way he'd laughed at her back then. She supposed they were just getting older, though... and it wasn't the worse thing in the world, but that may have been the reason she always annoyed him the way she did. She sort of flopped down on the beach after a moment before looking up at the sky, a slight smile still spread neatly across her cheeks.

Sage sort of chuckled in response to her comment and shrugged in a way that sort of admitted defeat. "I suppose that could happen," he mused. "Though I must admit I'd rather you stay nearby," he teased lightly. He watched her flip over happily, just glad to watch her for a bit. She really was still so beautiful...and her smile never ceased to amaze him. He sort of settled down next to her again, more than happy to just....watch her. That would never get old, he knew that much. It was just so nice to get her so content and happy and relaxed. Edited at March 17, 2024 04:19 PM by NightClan

Mari sort of hummed softly in response, shaking her head softly. "I'm afraid you're faster than me anyway," she murmured gently, flashing a little grin. "You'd catch me no matter where I ran off to. There's no getting away," she mused, kind of going back to watching the clouds roll by. She definitely didn't want to get away, though. It was just nice to have him so close to her... where they didn't need to seek each other out. She had him at arms length, though moved to clasp a soft hand around his after a few moments.

Sage chuckled slightly in response to her comment. "Well, anyone in trousers can run faster than someone in a big old dress," he noted, mouth twitching slightly in amusement. He'd never really understand why girls seemed to like dresses so much ...they didn't seem particularly useful for anything other than making them pretty. Of course, Mari would be pretty in anything, but still. "nope, you're stuck with me forever and ever," he chirped, wrapping his fingers around hers happily when she reached for his hand, moving to rest his head on her shoulder after a moment.

the woman sort of shook her head before moving to peck his cheek. "Yeah, but I like my dresses," she chirped lightly. She never had when she was younger... but she liked dressing up and feeling pretty. She sort of shook her head before moving to run a few light finger through his hair. "Unfortunately," she breathed teasingly with a small chuckle before moving to peck his head gently, then moved to sort of just get comfortable. It was certainly a nice day... and it was getting much quieter now.

Sage chuckled lightly in response of her comment, shrugging after a moment. "well, you'll just have to accept the fact that I'll catch you no matter how fast you try and run," he chirped lightly, humming in amusement when she spoke up again, but then quieted down. He was just happy to lay there with the girl, he supposed. (Bit short I gotta run)
