Matt nodded slowly, tracing various patterns on the table as they spoke, shifting from one foot to the other. "I know. With benefits then? I dunno, we're not dating so" he said, his words coming out in a slight mumble. "Like I said we hardly know each other so it's hard to say" he added, then titling his head in thought as it came to him she actually asked. "How come?" he asked, letting a small smile plau on his lips.

Trixie glanced back up at him and gave a light nod and a small smile. "Yeah. Yeah, that works." It stung just a little that he was so adamant over the whole not dating thing, but he had a point. She flushed slightly at his question, looking back at her feet with a shrug. "I mean, it's good to know, right? It- it... yeah." She nodded vaguely. What she was trying to mention was... being exclusive, but she faded off after a while.

Matt smiled, carrying on tracing the patterns on the table in thought. "Mhm. If you're sure there's not anymore to your question, then I believe you" he said, his tone cheery. He wasn't prepared to have a long talk about their situation just yet, especially not at a frat party, so he figured he might aswell lighten his own mood to avoid anything. "Plus I don't think i'm the type to really..date anymore. Just stay friends with benefits until they leave, really" he shrugged, looking Trixie in the eye as he spoke. Strangely, he felt bad as soon as the words left his mouth though he knew he fully meant them. Didn't he?

"Yeah, sure. Sorry to bring it up so randomly, I just-" Trixie shook her head and gave a slight laugh at herself. "I dunno." She shrugged, still feeling somewhat unreasonably embarrassed. She went to turn around, since the drink table had finally cleared up. She glanced over her shoulder at him as he started speaking again, holding his gaze. She swallowed uncomfortably when he finished, turning back to him slightly and giving a faint smile that was meant to be joking. "Right. Just waiting for me to leave, then?" She teased, or at least... tried to. It came out as a half attempt at a joke and she turned quickly back to the table, clearing her throat and walking toward it. "Anyway. Drinks, right?" She asked, forcing a light tone into her voice.

Matt frowned at Trixies sudden turn of mood, resting against a wall behind him, thoughts running through his head. He had no idea whether he meant what he said about not getting into relationships or not, it was puzzling. "Oh no you're tied down" He joked, standing up straight after a couple minutes, looking Trixie in the eye. "I really don't know what else to tell you though, maybe that'll change with the right person?" he added on, the guilt slowly seeping through his system. His confident smile turned slightly weak, and he sighed at the mention of the drinks, shrugging. He badly wanted to actually talk about it now the conversation had progressed further, but she clearly didn't so he decided to let it go. "Yeah" he said bluntly, shifting from foot to foot.

"Oh, I am? How so?" Trixie asked sarcastically, glancing off around the room and firmly avoiding his gaze. She shook her head and turned back to him. "You don't need to tell me anything else. You gave me an answer. It's done." She shrugged, trying to brush off his last comment. She was already firmly done with the conversation, and she cleared her throat, walking up to the table and grabbing a cup for him, filling it from what was essentially a keg. She did the same with another cup and gave him one.

Matt raised his eyebrows at Trixies response, smiling a little. "God alright" he mumbled under his breath, sighing. Maybe it was better to just suffer in silence, really. He took the cup from her with a smile, making a circle action and watching the drink swirl around, unsure of what else he was meant to say. If Trixie was planning on just shutting him down the way she did, was there really anything else he wanted to say? "So what do you propose we actually do? Stand here and not-talk sober, or get drunk?" he asked, his words coming out through a long sigh as he spoke.

Trixie took a quick sip of her drink, glancing over at him as he spoke again. She hadn't intended to make it awkward, but essentially the last five minutes had been nothing but. "Is that even a question? Get drunk, obviously." She joked, still a little weakly. She walked closer to him and settled at his side, continuing to look around as she took another sip of her drink.
