Max smiled and gave a nod "Okay." She chirped scooping Charlie up and putting her in warmer clothes before she headed out with their daughter "Love you!" She called as she headed out. Of course she wasn't just going to the store... she was heading off to the mall as well to look for a birthday gift for Sage. "Let's find a gift for daddy huh Charlie?" She smiled heading off into the mall. Roxie laughed as she popped in to see Sage "Look at you you're practically human now." She laughed. Her white hair was twisted into a braid that hung off her shoulder between that, her green shirt leather jacket/pants and her purple eyes she looked pretty badass... "Your wife's human side is rubbing off on you." She purred with a giggle.

Sage yelled bye back to Max and Charlie before turning to start going through the stuff and working on the framework. He looked up in surprise to see Roxie there and snorted. 'oh please. I could still kick your butt if I wanted to," he told the elder demon...though of course it was in an almost fond manner. She'd had some bad things she'd done to them in the past...but now she was a friend more than anything.

Roxie laughed and decided to try and help him out a little "I know you're worried... so I am going to promise you here and now... When and if you and Max decide to have another kid they'll both be taken care of..." She assured "I won't do anything to her this time either. I know you wouldn't admit it then... but what about now? Didn't the ends justify the means?" She asked "It's gotta be better having me as the new death isn't it?" She smirked "I mean you haven't seen even one demon of mine anyways..." She pointed out with a cocky grin. Edited at December 17, 2022 01:37 AM by Polar Lights

Sage grunted and nodded. "I know," he sighed. "I'm just used to having to worry about everything. It feels so odd not to have to," he admitted. He gave the other demon a somewhat find look and grin. "Don't push your luck," he joked. "I could very well just snatch that pretty soul of your and become death myself," he joked. Really, being death was lots of work...work he didn't really want. He had a family...that was enough for him. But he could still tease the elder demon.

Roxie smirked "I know... in all fairness I did try to warn you initially... at least before I found out about Charlie's existance." she said giving a small smirk "Yeah sure you would... you're bluffing." she chuckled "You couldn't handle the work load between your family and all the work that goes into being death..." she smirked "You're better off right where you are... you couldn't stomach it anyways." she chuckled before she snapped her fingers and a bottle of cobalt blue liquid appeared in her hand "Just in case Charlie starts showing more of her demonic side..." she said setting the little bottle on the table "At least until she's older and can learn to control her powers..." she told him "This will keep them at bay if she starts to develop any powers... This has never happened before so I don't honestly know what to expect..." she admitted.

Sage chuckled and shook his head, amused. Roxie knew him well, he supposed... probably a bit too well, but she was kind of like a sister, or at least what he thought a sister might be like. He looked at the vial with a curiously cocked head and nodded slowly. "Well have to see. She hasn't shown any signs yet...but she's around that age," he sighed. "Thanks." He could teach the girl how to control her powers, if she had any, but she had to be old enough to understand him and what having powers in this world meant.

Roxie nodded "No problem... you should only need a drop it'll dampen her powers for about a day maybe more... the demons I tested it on were much older and bigger then her so it might work on her for longer... just be sure to mix it into her food and not give it to her right from the bottle." she nodded "We want her to be more human if possible but we don't want to completely get rid of her powers." she explained before she gave a small sigh "I gotta go... just wanted to drop that off." she nodded before snapping her fingers and vanishing.

Sage nodded at Roxie's instructions, knowing that giving the girl too much could do more harm than good. He grunted in response to her other comment, though by then she was already gone, so he just sighed and started working on getting the frame if the house done.

When Max got back from the store about 2 hours later she smiled as she brought Charlie into the house along with Sage's birthday present which she quickly hid in with her art supplies "Hey Sage We're home!" she chirped happily. "Can you help me unload the groceries?" she asked.

Sage had finished putting all of the beams and stuff together for the first room, Charlie's bedroom, by the time Max called over to him. He was a bit gross and sweaty, but he felt good. He'd gotten quite a bit done, and Charlie would have a room within the week. "I'll be in in a second," he called over to Max, as he put the tools somewhere safe and wiped his hands off before heading over to greet them, pecking Max on the cheek and helping grab some plastic bags full of food and whatever else the girl had gotten.
