Rose heard him drive out and come back, wondering what he was doing. She got up and walked out before seeing the note and lotus. She took the drink before grabbing the note and reading it. The end is near. Oh shit! She thought, setting down the lotus and racing downstairs. She grabbed Caden's face, forcing him to look at her. "Caden. Stop. Look at me. Who was it that came up to you after that game? Who were you fighting for the whole time we were trapped? Who cheered you on at every game and backed your every step?" She pleaded, looking into his eyes with tears starting to well up in her own. "Caden. You're enough. I love you. Don't you forget that."

Caden pushed her hands down and turned away,quickly walking out of the house.He passed the island,grabbing a vile and tucking it into his sleeve.This was the best choice,for both him,and Rose.

"Caden!" She screamed, chasing after him. She grabbed his arm, hoping he would stop. "Think about it! Don't do this! Caden! Would you really leave me?! Think about what it'll do to me! Caden!" She pulled on his arm

Caden stopped,turning his head to look at Rose.He gave her a defiant look before pulling from her grasp and darting out of the house,opening a small garage with a motor bike in it.

Rose, now crying, just ran inside and shoved her stuff into her duffel bag and grabbed her keys. She looked at the note again before shoving it in her bag and grabbing her phone. She stormed outside and tossed her stuff into her car before speeding away to her house. Her mother was there. "Where the hell have you been?" Her mother demanded. "Fuck off." Rose said, storming to her room and throwing her stuff down. She grabbed her phone, only to see her lock screen of her and Caden after one of his games. He was smiling. She realized he hadn't done that in a long time and sobbed, throwing her phone across the room and possibly shattering it. She heard the door open and her brother walk into the house. "Shit. He'll kill me." She muttered, her tears stopping and she noticed she didn't feel safe without Caden. "Shit shit shit shit." She murmured, standing up as her brother walked into her room. "Mom says you've been gone for weeks." Her brother, Luke, crossed his arms and stepped toward Rose. "It's none of your fucking buisness." She said, crossing her own arms and matching his tone. "It is, though. Why'd you leave?" He asked, smacking Rose in the face. "You didn't have permission to leave." Luke said, shoving her to the floor. Rose's tears flowed silently down her face and she wished she still had Caden to protect her. But she knew she didn't. She'd walked away from him, right to her brother who was now hitting her again like she was still a child. Rose scrambled to her feet, worried about Luke hitting her again

The engine revved as he passed Rose's house.Time slowed as he looked at her house,thinking if he really should or not.

Time went to normal as he fixed his eyes on the road,driving through alleys and hills,valleys and kills.He pulled up to the edge of a cliff,shutting off the engine and sitting on the edge.Caden took the vile from his sleeve.Only two mg's of this would kill him,satisfy him,help him.He unscrewed the lid and a single drop dripped off the edge,into Caden's mouth.He looked out at the setting sun,scattering its rays along the peaks.Knowing this was his last glimse of life,he savored it.The world started spinning,getting darker,and darker,and darker.With the faint time of being able to hear,he heard a laugh,then another,and another,until they turned into gasps of familier tones.

"Good thing Coach Empir gave us some of this." Trevor said,stabbing the Narcan into Caden's leg. "Someone call 911!" Was the last thing Caden heard,before everything went still,absoulutly still.

Rose heard the engine outside and resisted the urge to go outside and stop Caden. Luke smacked her face again. "I'm fucking talking to you, bitch!" He yelled in her face, Rose nearly 2 inches away from him. She didn't dare flinch, knowing that's what Luke wanted. Her fear. She looked him in the eyes. "You're a selfish bastard who can't hold a job, nor a girlfriend. You have no purpose." She muttered, punching his temple and grabbing her phone. She looked at it again, now angry. It had a small crack in the corner, but it still worked. And Caden was still smiling. Luke snatched her phone out of her hands, the glass catching her thumb and cutting it. Rose winced quietly

Caden had to be airlifted as a Ambulance had no room to fit down the trail.With him on the brink of death,they loaded him into the helicopter quickly before getting him to the hospital as fast as possible.With suicide attempts becoming more popular in the area,they were prepared.However,the substance Caden took,was life threatning.With Caden on life support,Trevor was worried sick.His knee was bouncing as Caden lay in the hospital bed,unconscious with life support and more tubes on him.He ran a hand through his hair,stressed. "I should probaly tell Rose.She's probally worried sick aswell." Trevor announced. "Yeah,your really should." Dean answered.A small group of the team was there,mainly Caden's close friends.Trevor dialed Rose's number,sorrow filled.

"Hey Rose,this is Trevor.You need to get here,its bad."

Rose saw her phone buzzing and snatched it back from Luke, seeing it was an unknown number. "Hey!" Luke said, cahsing her to her car. Rose jumped into her car, locking it and answering the phone while peeling out of the driveway. "Where?" She asked, straight-faced. When Trevor told her, she spoke again. "I'll be there in 5." She said, hanging up and refusing to cry again. She gunned it to the hospital before being led to Caden's room. She gasped, seeing him laying on the bed. She fought back tears, knowing some of the boys from school were watching. She took a shaky breath before walking out and to her car, getting in and thinking. Why the fuck would he think he wasn't enough. He's half-dead and it's my fault. Her mind went in circles, pain rising

"Why would he do it though?What happened?How did he-" Trevor fell silent,the entire team did,as Rose walked in.Their eyes fell to the floor,worry washing over them.Caden's heart moniter beeped in a steady pace. Beep,beep,beep,beep,

Caden's chest rose and fell,heart moniter beeped,and eyes shut,unconcscious.He could see everything,but from above the group.

-Are you okay?- Was all he texted Rose,not wanting to ask so much in such short time. -If you want to come up here and just be alone with him we can leave.-
