She glanced back at him, nodding as she returned back to throwing the blades. "Thanks, Sage." Elara said softly after a moment, glad he hadn't pushed on anything.

Sage nodded, setting the food and drink down and then standing back up, turning towards the cabin. "If you ever want to spar, let me know. It's a good way to get out frustration sometimes," he noted as he wandered off.

She nodded, one of the knives sinking into the wood with a -SHINK-. "Yeah uh, i'll think about it." Elara noted, not really wanting to as she didn't want to hurt him. The woman let out a short breath before walking back over and pulling the blades out.

Sage chuckled to himself as the knives continued to hit their mark, leaving her be for now and moving to go get a plate of his own and sit down next to Liz to eat with her. He did keep an eye out the window on Elara, though.

She tossed them to the ground, sitting against the tree and grabbing the plate, eating as she thought about everything that had happened, and how much different her life could be. She could've been sent off to be some brood for a random prince, could've still been at the palace in a living nightmare, could've ran off by herself. Perhaps with Dorian, perhaps not. Elara still felt a few things for the man, and for Sage? Well, you could say he was starting to grow on her.

Sage was pondering Elara as he ate with Liz, occasionally peeking back out at her through the window. He was growing to like her a bit.....to want to talk to her, share his own life's stories with her. Confide in someone, maybe have a friend. But he wasn't sure if Elara saw him as anything more than her bodyguard still. He was admittedly a little confused....and he was terrified of overstepping. He focused on Liz after a bit, but the thoughts still lingered on the back of his head.

Elara was still unsure if he still saw her as the same snobby princess she had once been, the thought terrifying her if she got too comfortable around him and slipped up and he reminded her he was still just a guard, and that he should'nt like her anyway since she's from royal lineage. What if-- She blinked, slipping her eyes shut for a moment as she pinched the bridge of her nose, opening them once more as she stood and grabbed her plate, shoving the thoughts aside as she walked back in.

Sage had been half listening to Liz talk about the wolf and a few other things, nodding and speaking up here and there when he could get a word in. That wasn't often, but he did enjoy listening to her. She was still so happy, so innocent. He hoped he could keep her that way. When elara walked back in, he offered her a smile before Liz poked at his arm, whining about him looking away. He chuckled and looked back at the little girl, listening to her for a few more minutes until she ran off. (I was thinking, it might be interesting if maybe he washes up in the river and when his shirts off she sees old scars and that prompts a conversation? Maybe sage taking the risk and being vulnerable is what jumpstarts them becoming super close?)

(sounds like a plan, for some reason the first thing i imagined was sage like half dead and elara just being like 'yeah yeah, real funny' lol) Elara watched as Liz darted past her towards Varys, who was just outside the door, wrapping her arms around his neck before patting (more like smacking) his head, tugging him inside with her. She walked over to a corner and sat down, Varys watching before going to sniff around for any scraps on the floor, the girl chasing after him once more. The woman chuckled lightly, looking back at Sage. "Must've been a good conversation, she was rambling for minutes." She mused with a smile.

(lol, ok but I can imagine that being their interaction if he does something dumb and gets himself hurt. Obviously she'd take care of him but after he was stable she'd be like 'what the heck' lol) Sage had sat back in his chair once Liz had moved off, chuckling at elaras comment. "She likes to talk," he mused fondly, watching his daughter interact with the wolf for a few more minutes before gathering up the dishes and cleaning up a bit. Once that was done though, he called Liz back over, knowing she needed to wash up a bit. He probably did too, so he grabbed a towel and a rag to wash her off with, shooing her out the door after a moment or so and herding her down to the river, where she immediately hopped in.
