Aria hugged Sage tightly. "We'll get through this together. I promise." She whispered. "Do you... want to go grab some food? I get if you just want some time to relax. It's totally okay." She said. Aria didn't like seeing sage so sad. It was the first time in, forever, she'd seen him like this. Edited at May 10, 2023 10:04 AM by Brookfield Stables

Sage looked over at the girl and nodded. Then he shook his head. "I'm not very hungry," he admitted. "I'd rather stay with you." She at least kept him from completely breaking down. And he was honestly a bit scared for that to happen...he'd kept it together for so long, if he broke he wasn't sure he could pick himself back up.

Aria nodded slowly. "Oh, okay. I'm going to go grab some food." She said, standing up with a sigh. She knew Sage was sad, she was too. If he needed to cry, she was there for him. The girl looked back, "Do you want to come?" She asked quietly.

Sage looked over at the girl and then nodded, standing up to follow her. "I'll come ...I'm just not gonna eat anything," he murmured, taking the girls hand as they walked down to the kitchen.

Aria nodded, looking down. She sighed and ran her finger along the back of Sage's hand. "Are you okay?" She asked. "You know... if you need to cry, that's fine. I'm here for you." She said, hugging the boy gently, not wanting to upset him.

Sage looked over at the girl, rather surprised. He wasn't sure why...no doubt she was as supportive of him as he was of her. It made sense she'd want to comfort him. The comment itself almost made him cry in of itself. But he sighed slightly and attempted to give her a small smile. "If I start I don't know if I'll be able to stop," he whispered, a light blush of embarrassment covering his cheeks...though, he wasn't sure why. "I've been strong alone for so long I just don't know if I can manage to let myself go," he admitted softly. Though, he wrapped his arms around her and practically clung to the girl when she hugged him.

Aria looked up at him. "Sage... it's okay. I promise. People cry all the time." She said, half joking. "I'm here for you. I always will be." She said, giving him a soft smile. The girl felt bad, just seeing him so sad. It hurt her so much, to see that he was having a hard time with all of this. Yes, she was sad... but Aria hated seeing Sage like this. She wanted to help him in any way she could.

Sage tightened his hold on the girl, his chest almost aching. He knew she wanted to support him...but he hadn't cried in so long, and he was honestly a bit afraid too. His chest constricted and he closed his eyes, burying his head in her shoulder from where he was hugging her. A tear leaked from the corner of his eye, though he quenched any others. "I'll be alright," he whispered, pulling back a bit. "Now, let's go get you your food."

Aria hugged Sage tighter, hoping he would be okay. She looked at him when he pulled away, and wiped away his single tear with her thumb. The girl reached up to place a soft kiss on his forehead. "Okay." She murmured, grabbing his hand gently.

Sage gave the girl a small smile, gripping her hand. He just had to get over it....it was hard, but he'd done hard things before. He could handle that.. he thought he could anyway. He certainly hoped he could.
