"Me? Yeah---yeah, i'm fine." She said quickly, cutting up some deer to eat. Elara grit her teeth while she did so, brow furrowed slightly.

Sage didn't fully believe her, but he didn't press. If she wanted to talk, she'd talk. If not ...well, that was her own business. He just settled in next to her, getting something small for Liz to eat while Elara worked at the meat. He did find his mind wandering though, to the times he'd been under a whip....it wasn't exactly something he liked to remember, but he couldn't shake it. The dull ache lingered on his back, despite the wounds having long since healed.

Elara wished she had never gone to town that day, she could've just waited on Sage for one more day and she wouldn't be thinking of all this or anything--- the knife slipped, slicing her finger. She winced slightly, realizing she was breathing heavier now and heading to grab something to wrap the wound with.

Sage noticed when she moved to get the towel, reaching over to help her wrap the finger up with a soft sigh. "Why don't you let me take care of this," he noted gently. She was clearly upset by this whole thing, but he wasn't really sure how to help. Or if she wanted his help....he was still a little tentative in getting too close to her, after all.

"Yeah, just--" She cut off, sighing softly as she rubbed her temples. "Just worked myself up about everything, I guess. . ." Elara trailed off, letting him wrap her finger.

Sage hummed softly when she mentioned working herself up, nodding along as he worked. He understood that much. "That's easy to do," he mused after a moment or so, finishing the wrap after a moment. "I'll take care of the meal. Why don't you find something you enjoy? Try to relax a little bit," he suggested, moving back towards the kitchen.

She just nodded at his words, still on edge slightly. "Yeah--something I enjoy, gotcha." Elara muttered, grabbing a few daggers and heading outside before carving an x in a tree, throwing the blades at the target.

Sage let out a soft breath when she moved outside, hoping she'd calm down soon. He kept an eye on her through the window as he cooked and got Liz settled with her plate, before bringing Elara a plate outside. She was busy throwing knives around, so after a moment of standing there he mused a "your form is good," so she knew he was there.

Elara barely glanced at him, still lost in her worry as she yanked a blade out of the bark and walked back to her original spot. "Thanks, good to hear that coming from somebody as good as you." She noted, throwing another.

Sage hummed softly, letting her continue to throw the knives around as he stood there, not minding. If it helped her he wasn't going to tell her to stop. "I'll leave lunch by the tree....you can eat whenever you're done with that," he noted, moving to place it and a cup of water against some tree roots.
