Ajax couldn't help but chuckle a little, because apparently their relationship ran off of amusement. Still, this moment seemed to be frozen in time. Their first-est kiss was slightly memorable because he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, but everything since that had just felt... one sided. Of course that was his fault, because he was the side that wasnt participating. He guessed that he had just always had an underlying fear if he got too close to Mercy it would only hurt him, or her, but in that moment it felt like everything floated away. Which was saying a lot, because Ajax was a worrier. When Mercy pulled away he did as well, but was quickly pulled back into a hug. "It felt real.. possibly because I tried..." he mumbled, half a joke, half as a muse to himself. Edited at January 16, 2024 11:24 PM by Wild West Warmbloods

Mercy was still struck dumb over how nice it was to have a real partner- the first true affection she had been shown since she died. She was an affectionate person, and often felt guilty about that when it came to Ajax and his intolerance to it. Needless to say, she was thrilled. "I think you should try more often, then." She quipped simply, closing her eyes tightly to hold back tears. Happy, of course- to not feel guilty just because she wanted to be touched and held.

Ajax had many thoughts running through his mind, but this did bring him back to the time when he actually cared for someone. That one girl, long ago, who taught him something that pretty much ruined his life. That relationship had started with the same passionate kisses, but had ended with a broken hearted Ajax. He had many years to think about it, and his conclusion was that he was a wimp because he was still afraid it would happen again. However, in this moment he just felt blessed to have such a perfect partner. Someone who would never leave him. Someone who truly cared for him. As Ajax looked at Mercy he answered her one sentence. "I will. Don't you worry, I will." He smiled a little, thought his eyebrows furrowed slightly with her expression. "Are... you okay? You look happy but your eyes are all glassy." Ajax inquired, his wing twitching in and gently touching her back. Edited at January 17, 2024 12:05 AM by Wild West Warmbloods

Mercy smiled faintly at his answer, dipping her head to his neck and sniffling quietly as he spoke. "I'm alright, yeah. I'm just... God, I just really love you, Ajax." She answered quietly, shifting slightly into his wing and squeezing her eyes shut just a little tighter in order to keep her tears from falling. She was still hugging him somewhat tightly, clutching gently at his shirt.

Ajax lifted his arched black eyebrows slightly, his mind trailing back to what had happened. First she was crying from sadness and now, about an hour later, almost crying from... happiness? Well he hoped it was happiness. "I didn't expect an angel to take the lord's name in vain." He teased slightly, but hugged her after that, with immense effort. "I love you too, Mercy." Ajax murmured, and he meant it.

Mercy's a bit bipolar but its fineeeee)) Mercy let out a small, faint giggle at his answer. "Well, some things are important enough that they deserve a curse or two like that. You're one of them." She teased faintly, letting out a happy sigh as he hugged her back. She redoubled her grip on him, curling her wings gently around him and sniffling slightly.

(XD) +++ Ajax grinned a little, slightly confused by Mercy but what else was new. If she was at least happy it didn't matter how she showed it. "Aw, thanks. Touching." He answered with a slight chuckle. Managing not to squeak like a mouse being killed by a boa constricter, Ajax just sucked in a little breath in case he never got to breath again.

"I try." Mercy said simply slowly releasing him and just leaning against him instead of holding him in a tight hug. "Do you wanna head home? I don't see any reason we need to stay here any more." She suggested softly, gently tracing circles on his chest with a small sigh.

At Mercy's question Ajax nodded, looking a little happier. "I think we should, especially since my backside is sore from the really hard concrete roof." He commented, probably the one serious thing he said all day- which was comical in itself. Ajax was ready for action, pulling away from Mercy to stand and stretch his arms above his head with a quiet groan. "Ow." He mumbled, hearing his back crack. +That is perfectly normal+ Ajax thought, assuring himself, and stood near the edge of the roof, ready for her.

"Aw, poor baby. It's probably all those old bones and joints giving you problems." Mercy teased, standing after him and snickering as his back cracked. "You really are an old man. You even make noises when you stand up." She chuckled, brushing past him to hop off the roof.
