Ellie glared at Sam, rather unappeased by his attempt of humor. "You've always been an idiot." She huffed, "Why have you only just realisied?" Ellie complained, shuffeling back away from the now damp patch of grass. Her eyes were slightly glazed over as she furrowed her brows. She really had been quite worried about Sam - He had not long been better after his sickly few days and really? She thought somewhere in the back of her head he would still be father frail. "Take your jacket off... I'll give you mine, or else you'll find yourself with an awful cold and bed-bound again," Ellie mumbled with a huff.

"Ive always known i was an idiot, but now its just official." Sam said, grinning as he chucked his jacket to the side, wringing it out. "No, dont worry ill be just fine." He said, politely declining her offer of her jacket. Taking his boots off, he tipped the water out of each of them and into a nearby bush. Putting them back on his feet he grimached at the wet squelching noise it made as it made contact with his equally waterlogged sock.

"Hey, thanks for helping me up." He said, bumping Ellie's shoulder with his.

Ellie gave a small, inward smile- one that had been barely visiable. "You would have gotten out eventually, I'm sure of it." She replied as she swiftly put her warm coat back on. She stared out into the mezmarizing distance, her slightly worried features easing up. "You need to stop getting yourself into trouble though. One day no one is going to be there to help you." The girl huffed blankly. "Then you'd be either in hospital or death bed and I'd just die from lonliess and that'd be that!" She complained sarcastically, flopping back on the grass with a soft thump. Ellie glanced to her side, quietly inspecting Sams movement, seeing for any ounce of pain, however her eyes couldn't read anything. "Did you hurt yourself at all?"

Sam laughed at what she said. "Awww, i bet you'd be so lonely and sad without me." He teased playfully, nudging her lightly.

He took his shirt off to wring it out, before realising it was very awkward and putting it back on quickly, holding back a small laugh at himself. "Hey, maybe we should get going? its getting a little dark." He noted, a light shiver running through his body as the air cooled down.

Ellie had her eyes glued to the slightly swaying grass, the chill of the dawning evening starting to get to her. She concluded that Sam was most definitely chillier - so the request to leave didn't seem so sudden. "Yeah, we probably should," Ellie murmured, glancing up with a mellow smile, "Thank you for taking me here, I can't get over how gorgeous it is!" Ellie chuckled before standing and dusting herself off.

Sam smiled. "Don't worry about it...i figured you'd like it here." He said, leading them back to the boat, which was bobbing merrily in the water. Untying it, Sam hopped in, holding an arm out to help Ellie get in too. Once they were settled, Sam took the oars again and pulled them through the water, the ripples they made dancing in the now-darkening sunlight.

Ellie sat herself to the side of the little boat, leaning ever so slightly over the edge as she watched the reflections pass, and eventually, she dipped her hand in the icy water to twist and ripple her own. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, the little boat finally hit the shore. Ellie jumped herself out of the boat and assisted Sam with pulling it out and dragging it back to its original spot. She dusted off her hands before staring up at the short wall they had abseiled down. Her mind was a blank as to how to get back up. She looked to Sam for some sort of hint as she tugged on a few of the vines.

Sam gazed up at the wall they climbed down to get onto the stony beach. Instantly, in his mind a map of footholds and vines sprouted from the rock before them. Quickly, he moved and grabbed a jutting out rock a few feet above him. Once his hand was secured, his feet found an old, gnarly root that should give enough support. Picking his way up the wall, he got to the top and looked down to Ellie. "get on to that ledge, then reach for my hand and i'll pull you up" Said Sam, gesturing at the slate jutting out from the wall.

The girl mindlessly gazed up the small stretch for a few moments after watching Sam flawlessly route his way up the bedrock. Alright, show off. Ellie thought with an inward chuckle. Once Sam had reached the top and given out his orders, Ellie gave a swift nod and started to pull herself up onto the first rock Sam had grabbed onto to, with just a little detour to make it easier for her. She went from point to point until she had finally reached her place on the obtruding rock. She was at a point where she could just touch the top, but there wasn't a chance she would have managed to hike herself up. Ellie reached one of her hands up until she got ahold of Sams, "If you let go you're going to be in trouble." She warned with a stern look on her face.

Sam grinned at her from above.

"do not fear, fair maiden. I won't let go." he said, chuckling and reaching out to take a firm yet gentle hold of her hands and wrists. "one, two, three, up!" he said as he puller her up, letting her feet find scrabbly footholds to propell her up onto the side. As he pulled her up, he fell back into the grass from the force of it, his slightly curly hair sprawling out on the grass. Sam laughed. "Graceful, ey?"
