Iris smiled a little. -I'll bet. But I wouldn't know. Never been anywhere but here- She took a sip of her latte and let the warm drink thaw her cold insides. It had been chilly out, and walking here hadn't helped. Her fingers were still numb, but holding the drink helped. |

really??? huh, i'll have to take you here sometime, then.- Caden grinned, sending it with a tap of his finger as his heart skipped a beat. He defanitely liked her, it was obvious. He hoped he'd be able to take her to Moscow, or Magadan, hopefully just Moscow since Magadan wasn't much besides home. |

When Iris saw the text she kind of just sat there for a minute or so. At first she was surprised, and then worried. 'Wait, what? He sounded like he meant it for real, not as a joke... But why would he say that? It's not like he likes me... right? I thought he didn't? That'd be great! But wait, what if he doesn't? And what if I acutally don't?' She was suddenly questioning all the thoughts she'd had yesterday, and so didn't respond for a few minutes. |

Caden waited on her response, and waited, and waited some more. He sighed, setting the phone down on his chest and slipping his eyes shut for a moment. Immediately the first thing he saw was her, causing him to flip his eyes open and look down at the phone. The screen illuminated his face, still no texts from Iris. Still nothing to be excited about. |

Finally, she decided that was something to think about, at least. She wouldn't make any assumptions, and would listen to what he had to say, not make things up herself. -That would be fun- Iris looked at the text, immediately thinking of a thousand better sentences. But it was too late, she'd already sent it. Iris sighed. Why could she never get anything right? |

-absolutely would be :)- He sent the text, immediately regretting it. A smiley face? Really? Caden groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose as he tossed his phone on the bed. |

Iris grinned at his answer. She didn't really know what to say back. Maybe ask another question? Yeah that was a good idea. But what? -How is it there? What have you been doing?- She finally settled on that. Knowing she should put the phone down but eager to see his response, she kept staring at the text thread, waiting for the vibration. |

He snatched the phone when it buzzed like a starved animal, seeing it was a text from her and grinning. -cold, per usual. but i mean, what's new i've lived here forever lol not much, just walking around and seeing how things have changed. heading down to my hometown tommorow so, that'll be fun- Caden typed out, deaming it good as he set it back down before picking it back up impatient. |

Iris jumped a little at the notification, since she had been waiting so hard for it. -Cool! What's your hometown?- She realized, with a pang of sadness, that she was getting to know more about him through text than in person. That needed to change. She sent another text, just after the first one. -Are you free to video call?- For some reason, the thought of seeing his face and not just his words made her nervous. 'You can be nervous, but don't show him that. That'll only make him more suspicious. Act. Normal.' That is, if he wanted to call. If he didn't, she supposed that was all right. But Iris felt like she needed to talk to him in person, or at least hear his voice, when they talked. Texting was weird. She took out her headphones and connected them to her phone, so only she could hear what Caden was saying. She really valued privacy, in any part of her life. |
