Ben began to rub her back slowly, his breathing calming as well. "Yeah, I know. I don't know why, and it wasn't a very good thing to do, but you'll get through it. You never know, maybe he'll come back." Ben hoped he was doing this calming-down thing right, he wasn't very good at... Well... People in general. |

Ben stayed sitting there quietly for a few more minutes before asking Emma, "Are you hungry? I can make breakfast if you don't feel up for it." |

"I ..don't know..." She said,ind flashing to Brock. "Can you help me?" |

Ben smiled kindly, though slightly awkwardly. "Of course." He helped her to her feet and walked slowly next to her to the house, then began mixing french toast batter and cooking ham omlettes. |

Emma looked a bit out of it the whole time, stumbling every now and again |

Ben finished the food and set a plate down in front of Emma and a plate by his seat. He got them both waters and sat down across the table from her. He wasn't that hungry, but tried to eat some omelette anyway. |

Ben nodded in acknowledgement of her thanks and tired to take another bite, but it tasted like cardboard in his mouth. Not that he was a bad cook, in fact, he prided himself in his cooking skills, but he really didn't feel like eating. He pushed the plate back a little and sighed, unsure what to do next. |
