(you're all good!) Sage couldn't help but stare at the princess as she spoke, mouth opening slightly in shock. He closed it quickly enough, but he honestly just couldn't think of something to say. Thank you? Didn't really cut it. She wanted him to look happy again? That wasn't just general conversation. He couldn't even really focus on lunch by then, since his brain was so confused. His brain was running a mile a minute, so he just absentmindedly grabbed a few pieces of fruit and moved to go back to his room. She'd offered anything....he wondered if he could bring Liz here. It would be a much better environment. Easier for him, closer to him. She'd probably get better education, if she was even getting anything there. And it wouldn't be so damn expensive. He wouldn't be treated so badly by the women in charge. But was that too much to ask for? She could stay in his room ..he'd just need a crib and blankets, some bottles and milk. Maybe a toy or two. Someone would need to watch her while he was working, but he was sure the castle has other kids in it. They had a royal babysitter and teacher. He wasn't sure. Could he even ask? She'd offered, but did she really mean it?

Dorion just laughed, the sound echoing in the hall. "Yeah, guess your right.Well, princess,I have a meeting I must attend.Fairwell for now." He called, heading off while Elara just nodded, going to hopefully find Sage.

Sage had quickly wandered from the dining area with a pear in hand, munching on it as he walked, sort of just...thinking. His mind never seemed to shut up, but there were times where it was more than the normal whirlwind of thoughts. Times like these, where he had a lot on his mind, seemed more like category 5 hurricanes of ideas and questions and no answers whatsoever. Whatever. He tried to calm his thoughts by just wandering out into the garden settling down against the trunk of a tree and taking out his sketchbook. He sketched often....he was good at it, and it was a way to take his mind off more depressing things, he supposed. Plus, he liked being able to keep track of what Liz looked like as she aged. Sketches of her he always dated, and while they may not always be in color, they looked like photographs once he worked at them enough, so it was as good as he would be able to get them. He could do more with paints, in terms of color but he didn't have any of those. They were expensive, as were brushes and mediums and canvas to paint on. But he could steal pencils from around the market or the castle and use those without any issues there.

She walked into a vast room with a few easels set up with paint at the ready. The woman picked up one of them and moved it near a window, right infront of a marble statue of a horse rearing. Elara got to work, sketching this, painting this, shading this, raging over this.

Sage stayed out in the garden for a while, really as long as he could before the sun started setting and it got too dark to sketch any fine details he still wanted to do. So, he got up with a sigh and wandered back into the castle, moving slowly towards his room. He was tired, though he wasn't sure why since he hadn't done much and he's gotten more sleep last night than he had in a good long while. Oh well.

Elara eventually reckognized the setting sun as a symbol of her upcoming rest. She sighed and left the brush in a glass of water, closing the paints before heading out into the vast, echo inducing hallways of the grand castle. She walked for a while, eventually stopping at Sage's door. Elara rapped her knuckles upon the doors darkly stained wood, hoping for a response. "Sage? Can I come in?" She asks, wanting to tell him that she was saying the truth earlier and she would supply him with anything he needed, aslong as he looked that happy with it.

Sage had wandered into his room after a while, hopping into he shower once he was back in and settled down. He had just finished getting dressed and such when he heard the knock on the door, and he called for her to come in as he slid out of the bathroom. He was in a simple tunic and trousers, of course, nothing like what he normally worse. His hair was loose too, and wet, sort of just loose and down his shoulders. He thought about that after she'd started to open the door, so it was whatever now. He supposed it was a different picture than what she was used to....his hair was normally tied up and out of his face, and no doubt looked much shorter than it actually was. He didn't have his daggers and belt with things on it, and that sort of thing. But he supposed he didn't really care. "Need something," he asked with a cocked head as she wandered in, wondering why she was even still up, as it was getting pretty late by then.

"Just wanted to pop my head in and say some stuff.First off,I know that school,it sucks,it's overpriced, and the women there have no damn respect. If you need anything, general or,I don't know, exquisite for either you or your daughter,I'll supply it to you.Just ask for it and you shall receive. That's all.Night." She finsihed, walking back out and heading into her quarters for the night.Elara bathed and changed into her pajamas, sliding under her covers and falling asleep.

Sage didn't even get the chance to say anything to her before she's given her speech and then left. He sort of stood there, staring at the door, admittedly rather shocked. He stood there for a minute before he sort of slowly moved to slide into bed. He lay there awake for a while, though eventually did fall asleep after a bit of time. He woke with the sun the next morning, as was habit, but this time, allowed himself to just roll over with a groan and go back to sleep. He hated waking up ...mornings were the worst. He could actually sleep in a bit now. He just had to get used to it, he supposed. Edited at February 4, 2025 10:50 PM by NightClan
