Zoya helped Sera up and over to the jump point. The two of them jumped back to the camp and settled her back into the infirmary tent and then gave Sera her orange juice before going back to help bring more people over. Finn helped with the patients as well, helping them jump back to camp and getting them all settled back into the infirmary. |

Sera sat back on the cot, the orange juice in her hands, the cool, tangy drink a welcome relief after everything that had just happened. She felt a dull ache in her limbs, but the warmth of the infirmary, the quiet hum of voices outside, and the soft rustling of the camp gave her a sense of safety she hadn’t realized she’d been missing. Zoya had been so steady with her, guiding her through the jump, making sure she didn’t fall behind. The memory of their last few moments at the other site—the rush, the chaos—seemed so distant now. Sera glanced up as Finn moved quickly around the tent, helping the others, his focused energy a silent comfort. There was a quiet strength in the way he moved, always helping, always making sure everyone else was taken care of before he’d let himself breathe. Her eyes softened as she took another sip of juice. "They’re all going to be okay," she thought to herself. Even if they weren’t sure yet, they’d figure it out. They always did. |

Soon enough everyone from the other site was back at camp, but Finn didn't dare stop to take a break. He went around the infirmary, helping anyone who needed care. Although, he did purposefully avoid Sera. If she didn't want him in her life, he'd stay out of it. |

Sera walked quietly through the camp, her gaze wandering over the people she had once trusted, but her thoughts were consumed by Finn. She couldn’t shake the memory of telling him to go away. The harshness of her words echoed in her mind, and it ate away at her. She didn’t know why she had snapped like that, but she knew it was wrong. It was hard to admit to herself, but she missed him. Her footsteps faltered, seeing him in the distance, moving around with his usual focused energy, helping where he could. But his eyes never lingered on hers, never met her gaze. It made her stomach twist with guilt. With a deep breath, Sera found herself moving toward him. Her heart raced, not from fear of the danger outside, but from the thought of facing the person she had hurt. “Finn...” Her voice was tentative at first, unsure. She hadn’t expected to feel so vulnerable. Sera opened her mouth to speak, but the words caught in her throat. She could see in his eyes that he had already made his decision. The walls he had put up between them were clear. “I... I’m sorry,” she managed to say, her voice low, almost a whisper. “I shouldn’t have told you to go away. That was wrong of me. I... I was angry and upset, but you didn’t deserve that. You’re one of the few people who actually understands me, Finn.” "I never meant to push you away. I care about you... more than I realized." She paused, trying to find the right words. "I was scared. But I see now that pushing you away was the last thing I should’ve done." The silence stretched between them, and Sera wondered if she had gone too far, if she had ruined any chance of reconciliation. |

Finn hesitated for a moment, his eyes softening a bit as he listened. He hesitated, opening his mouth the say something but a nurse from behind him called out to him. "Be there in a moment" he called back and then turned back to her. "I'm sorry, we're really busy right now. My shift ends in 20, can we talk after? Alone?" |

She could see the weight of his words before he even said them—the softening of his expression, the hesitation in his movements. It made her heart ache, but it also gave her a flicker of hope. Maybe there was still a chance. When the nurse called out to him, she flinched, the moment slipping away. It was as if the universe was reminding her that time was always running out. She fought the urge to retreat, but stayed rooted, watching him. "Alone," he said. The word echoed in her chest, heavy with meaning. He wanted to talk. Really talk. It wasn't just another dismissal, another way of brushing her aside. She could hear it in his voice—he cared enough to give her that. “I understand,” she replied quietly, her voice steady now. But inside, her thoughts were swirling, fast, frantic. Alone. She'd been waiting for this moment, wishing for it. Maybe it wouldn't be easy, but she was ready. She had to be. “I’ll wait for you,” she added, offering a small, tentative smile, though it didn’t reach her eyes completely. There was too much left unsaid, too many words trapped between them. But for now, she could wait. Finn had the chance to decide. And so did she. |

Finn nodded and returned to his work and then finished his shift 20 minutes later. After his shift was over, he quickly cleaned himself up and then walked over to Sera, taking her hand and bringing her over to his tent, stopping to talk outside the entrance. No one else was around, everyone else was at dinner. Finn let go of her hand and looked at her, waiting for her to begin. |

Sera’s heart raced as Finn led her toward his tent, her mind swirling with everything she had tried to say, and the way he had stayed quiet, giving her nothing to hold onto. She wanted so badly to believe this moment would be different, that it could be the start of something new, but there was an ache in her chest that told her it wasn’t going to be that simple. When he let go of her hand and stood in front of her, she felt a pang of fear in her gut. His silence was heavy, not the comfortable kind that came with mutual understanding, but the kind that made her question everything she had said, everything they had shared. She tried to steady herself, tried to gather the courage to speak, but the words felt like they were stuck in her throat. "I don’t expect this to be easy," she started, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I can’t keep pretending like nothing happened. Like I didn’t hurt you." She paused, searching his face for some sign of what he was feeling, but it was like reading a book with pages torn out. "I don’t want to lose you, Finn. But I know I’ve pushed you too far. I’ve been running from what I feel, and I can’t anymore." Her hands trembled at her sides, and she forced herself to meet his eyes. "I need you to understand... I never meant for any of this to happen. I was scared. Scared of... of what we might be, of what it means to let someone in." She took a deep breath, her voice steadier now. "But if you’ll let me, I want to try again. I want to find a way back to what we were before, or... or maybe something better." She waited, her heart hammering in her chest, every part of her hoping, praying, that Finn would say something—anything—that might bring them closer to finding their way back to each other. |

Finn thought for a moment. "I want to be friends again too." he agreed softly. "But you can't keep pushing me away. I know its scary, I know you're not used to it, but all I want to do is help." Finn said gently, softness in his eyes. "Thats all I'm asking for. Just let me in." |

(We're getting somewhere!) Sera swallowed hard, feeling the weight of his words settle in her chest. She didn’t look at him, afraid of what he might see in her eyes. Her walls had been so carefully constructed, so impenetrable. Letting him in felt like opening a door she’d locked for years. “I’m not good at this, Finn,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t know how to… how to let someone in without breaking everything.” She paused, her hands trembling slightly at her sides. “But I’ll try. For you.” Her gaze flickered up to meet his, and she saw the gentleness there, the hope. It scared her more than anything, but it was a kind of fear she wasn’t sure she wanted to fight anymore. “But you have to promise me something,” she added, her voice firmer now. “Promise me you won’t give up on me when I push you away again." |
