"You expect me to just stay quiet while we're being shot at?" Ella frowned, grateful for him moving away so she could sit back down. She did so, grabbing her jacket to throw over her knees, to make it more comfortable to lean on. She watched as Sage peered out the window, brushing off a spider next to her quickly. She wasnt one to get shaken by much, but guns..That was a different story altogether. The reality of her friends and her father being taken was setting in, especially her father. And Artemis. She stuffed her head in her hands slowly, biting her lip to prevent her from cryng so hard a couple of drops of blood hit the floor when she lifted her head back up. Ella stood up and made her way over nex tot Sage, crunching the glass underfoot. Her attention was quickly caught by the bleeding on his chest though, and she frowned. That would be all they needed. "Sorry." She mumbled, walking back away, kicking the glass across the room. She didnt exactly like apologising, but at that point what else could she do? Rip his heart out?

Sage had snorted in response to her question, muttering "yes," though he figured the question was mostly rhetorical. He didn't really care. "I'd rather not get us both shot," he noted, standing on his tiptoes to peer out as best he could. "It looks clear now," he added, though he was still quiet...they could be hiding out there. He doubted it though...they seemed like they came in, got the things they wanted to do done, and got out. That generally worked for him, so no doubt it works for them as well. He moved to reach up and sort of shove some of the sharp edges out of the window, so they could crawl through more safely. The girl's apology caught him by surprise, and he glanced over at her for a moment, face softening lightly for a brief second. "It's alright," he noted. "I was planning on taking them out an redoing them better once I got out anyway," he admitted with a shrug. The nurse had stopped the bleeding, but the stitches weren't very well done. They were quick, and sloppy. "The door to the other cell has been locked for a logn time? Long enough to be rusted?" He glanced over at the girl again, eyebrows raised in question. If it was rusted, he could try and kick the door in....he knew how to, and maybe that was a way out.

Ella nodded as Sage explained he was planning on redoing the stitches, wincing a little at the thought. She would be firmly far away when he decided to do that. She watched as he softened the edges of the broken glass, watching pieces fall onto the ground and break the occasional silence. Hopefully they were gone. From what she could hear they had moved on quickly, and the running of the footstepes were very faint now, as were the cries. "What? Oh, yeah. No one ever gets taken down there, its..a lot bigger. I guess my father just prefers this one." She said, shrugging lightly. For someone so confident, Ella had definitely lost her spark. Though she was already tired enough, and beginning to get tihirsty. "It's been over a year since it was opened I think, so probably." She added, looking Sage in the eye quickly. Sure, the room was unoccupied, but the thought of going in therr still freaked her out quite some bit. "How come?" She added, walking overto her jacket and picking it up, though she didnt put it on.

Sage waited for a response, as he examined the windows edge, making sure nothing was too sharp. He hummed in though, nodding slowly as the girl explained how long it had been since the other cell was opened. "Why do you even have it then," he he questioned, his sarcasm sort of coming back through before he shook his head. "Nevermind. That's not important right now," he muttered. At her question though, he glanced her way before stepping back and picking his way out from the glass. He'd been barefoot down here the entire time...they'd taken his shoes and such when they'd first caught him. Which made this slightly more dangerous, but he was careful enough that he figured he'd probably be fine. "Because if it's rusted enough, I can kick it in and we can get out of here," he noted, waving the girl over to the window. "Throw your jacket down on the other side of the window. I don't know what's on the floor in there," he noted. "Then I'm going to give you a leg up, you're going through, and then I'll haul myself up and in. Then we'll work on the door," he explained, hoping she just...went along with it. They probably both needed food and water, and rest....but once they were out they could deal with that. "Once we're out we can gather some supplies and be on our way," he mentioned with a shrug.

Ella glared at Sage as he shot a sarcastic comment, biting her lip rather hard to avoid clapping back with something arguably worse. For once, she didnt say a word and let him carry on speaking, though she was very clearly frustrated. "Right. Okay." She said flatly, throwing her jacket over to the other side, watching as it landed almost perfectly into place. She had to admit, Sage's plan did sound good, though she wasnt physically or mentally prepared for the climb over. There was no doubt it would put strain on her wound. She took a deep breath and held onto the window ledge, brushing off a small cube of glass and watching it land onto the floor in the room they were in. After about a minute Sage had given her a successful leg up and she was safrely on the other side, leaning against the wall. Her suspicions were right, and it did in fact leave her in an immense amount of pain. As Ella peered around the room she shivered, her gaze travelling slowly. The room was significantly bigger, so much bigger than you couldnt see the edge of the room very well. The walls were dripping snd leaving various puddles, and various scratching noises were coming from the shadows by the door. There was a room with bars in the corner nearest to Ella, and the door was swinging open, only making the situation creepier. She leant her head against the wall and swore, not very quietly, her chest moving slowly to balance the pain.

Sage had half expected the girl to argue about his plan, based off of the glare she'd given him moments before. Though, when she agreed to the plan, he nodded moving the glass underfoot to the side and making a sort of stirrup with his hands she could step in. "Don't cut yourself on the window ledge," he grunted. Then he added. "On three," counting down before hoisting the girl up and over the ledge, releasing her so she could land neatly on the other side of the window. She wasn't heavy, but he supposed in his contition he shouldn't be surprised that it seemed like a shit ton of work. He had to crouch there for a moment, eyes closed and head down, before slowly straightening and moving to take a few steps back so he could take a flying leap with a running start to reach the window, praying he could get himself up and over. He managed, but just barely, and sat down rather hard as his legs gave out under him once he landed. He cast a quick glance around the room, wrinkling his eyes as he noted the rats in the corner. "That's where you guys came from," he muttered to them, as they'd been in his cell too, plenty of times. Once he caught his breath though, he forced himself to his feet with a huff or air and wandered over to the door, peering at it and testing it out before muttering "let's hope this works," before kicking the door. It took a solid three kicks before he practically fell through the doorway as it opened up, and he stumbled into the blinding light, squinting his eyes. There wasn't much too look at anyway, he figured....bodies littered that ground and he could smell the blood and sweat and...well, it was a battle ground. Not much else.

After Sage had eventually pulled himself through the window and was somehwat safely on the other side Ella relaxed a little, grateful she at least wasnt alone. She still wasnt too fond of him though. As he kicked the door down she jumped a little, though was glad to be getting out of the room. It had been over an hour since the door jammed, and she was beginning to get irritated. Well, she couldnt imagine how Sge had felt then. Slowly, she followed him up the stairs and outside, as nervous as ever. Half of her was scared he would run away, leaving her completely and utterly alone, the other half was just..numb. As she scanned rhe area she sighed, looking over the various bodies. Bodies of people she knew, ones she had walked past everyday. She looked up from the floor and for once, willingly at Sage, gesturning towards rhe house. "Uh," She started, kicking a stone across the floor rather weakly. "Just go in and take whatever, its pretty easy to navigate." She said, taking a deep breath though it still didnt feel like she was getting enough oxygen. What if she stumbled across the body of one of her friends? Or a family member?

Sage had scanned the area, brows pinching slightly as he took it all in. He did get a bit concerned sometimes, that he was so used to this sort of thing it was literally just part of the job. To count the dead, number them off, all that good stuff. He did shoot a glance at the girl, though, knowing these would be her friends and family that could be among the dead. He gave her a grateful glance when she gestured towards the house. "I was gonna help myself anyway," he noted with a sort of chuckle. "But thanks," he added after a moment. He had to force it out, yes, but he was grateful as he picked his way towards the house. Though, he paused and looked back at her with a cocked head. "You should come inside too," he pointed out before continuing.

Ella looked up in surprise at Sage's slight chuckle, that being the last thing she ever expected to see from him, even if it wasnt genuine. She shook it off and looked back down at the floor, turning away from him to go into the nurses tent, the only place where she could find to relax. That hopefully wouldnt be riddled with bodies. She looked back up as he spoke, her gaze travelling to the house. There could be people still hiding in there, mass murder committed, anything that made the house repulsive. She thought about it for a couple of seconds before nodding, folloeing Sage inside. At first she was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the house. Everything seemed intact, and she felt a little relaxed. Though, as she went up to her room she stopped, looking down at the one body splayed lifelessley across the floor. The one person she had wanted to see alive, was dead. Artemis. She swallowed strongly and grabbed some clothes and a bag, stuffing eveytthing in rather agressively. Then, she made her way back downstairs and put the neccessary stuff in, as fast as she could to keep herself distracted. It wasnt working. Eventually she was done, and she turned to Sage. "Are you ready to go?" She asked, her voice a lot shakier than she had wanted it to come out. "I'm gonna wait outside." She added after, making her way out through the doorway.

Sage had moved around the house, rummaging through cabinets and rooms until he found some clothes, as well as some spares....which they'd probably need. Shoes, and some other things they'd need like soap and washcloths and toothbrushes and hairbrushes....he figured they'd be on the go for a while. He also grabbed some bags and water bottles with filters in them, so they could drink river water if need be, and some food that wouldn't spoil. It was rather obvious, painfully so, that he'd been in this sort of situation before. He glanced over at the girl as she c ame down, frowning slightly at the look on her face. "Yeah," he noted, watching her with a cocked head. "If you want to bury anyone, now's your chance to do it," he added softly, biting his lip slightly. "You'll regret it later if you dont," he added, dropping his gaze to fiddle with a strap to a bag. He obviously spoke from experience, but wasn't really willing to talk about it, either. He didnt even care if she snapped at him...it was a touchy subject. But he also didn't want her all sad and mopey on him.
