"clearly you didn't" he teased. With his eyes still closed he tossed her his shirt, "Use that, i've got a singlet or something in the car I can use" he opened his a little and then nestled back into the grass feeling rather comfortable.

Annika suppressed a giggle. She watched as he grabbed his shirt and threw it at her. "Um... ok thank you" she held it in her hands then pulled it over her head, warming up faster than she was before. She looked down at Chris before laying back on the grass again.

Chris wacked a fly heading towards his ear and opened his eyes, the sun had seemed to have gone down and he could tell it was late in the afternoon - Hopefully i didn't fall asleep, the noises i make, poor Ann- he said to himself ashamed. He slowly stood up and looked over to Annika who seemed quite peaceful - lets see... how should i wake her up... i could gently wake her... nah thats no fun...I know, i'll get just a tiny bit of water and splash it on her face- he quietly got up and walked towards the lake, he cupped a small amount of water and walked back over to Annika. He gently released the freezing water out of his hands and landing right on her face, "Bullseye!" he shouted outloud

Annika could hear the sounds of birds flapping their wings, the soft brush of her hair as the breeze blew, Chris's breath. She sighed just as water slapped her face. She shot to her feet, shrieking in the process. She laughed then shoved him backward toward the lake. "This is what you get!" She joked, pushing him into the water. She tripped and tumbled into him just as they hit the water. She pulled her head to the surface and gasped for air, trying not to die from the amount of breathing she had to do to laugh and swim at the same time

"Noooo no i'm sorry i'll never to it..." he was pushed into the water and for a second remained completely still. He soon realised he needed air, so swam up and was greeted with a mouthful of air with a mix of salt water. "Ahhhhh i think it's even colder now" he shivered and slowly making his way back to the land, "I deserved that" he mumbled with a hint of laughter

Annika fought hard to keep her face above the water. "You're right. It is colder. And again you are right: you deserved it" she laughed and collapsed on the shore. "When should we start heading back?" She asked, peeling his shirt off of her soaked body and setting it to the side

Chris laughed at the shirt, "Guess it wasn't any help after all". He paused and looked out across the lake, "We should probarly get going, my mother is going to be frustrated" he whinced at the thought but began to walk back towards the car.

Annika scrunched up her face "yeah. Father will be mad at me too. Let's go" she got up and walked to the car, pushing some branches out of the way in the process. She opened up her door before Chris could get it and she plopped onto the seat. "Go go go, valiant knight!" She giggled then leaned back in the seat, pulling her hair over her shoulder and wring it out on the ground before closing the door.

Chris laughed and got into his side. He turned the car on and slowly pulled it out of the beautiful spot taking a quick glance back. The car sped by and by less than an hour they had arrived back. Chris parked the car and waited before venturing back up towards the house. "Well i'll see you tomorrow then" he said smiling

"Thank you Chris" she said, giving a small curtsy. She turned and started up toward the castle when he spoke again. "Yes, tomorrow" she stopped then looked toward the barn. She lifted the bottom hem of her sundress and ran to the barn. "Shout! Hey Buddy! Are you alright?" She giggles when he nickered to her. "Good Boy" she stroked his face, her eyes wandering down his sides. "Your scrapes look better. Ima take you for a walk" she clipped on his halter then led him around the grounds for about ten minutes before returning him to his stall. She pet him once more then made her way back to her room.
