Sage wandered along down to the creek, admittedly babbling to the dog a bit...it wasn't about anything specific, but about a bunch of stuff. The dog couldn't exactly tell anyone what he was saying. Once they got to the creek though, he gathered the water and made his way back to the cave silently, and quickly....he didn't want to leave Liz alone for long. Well, she wasn't alone....but he just didn't want anything to happen. He trusted T, but he was still just worried. He knew he probably shouldn't be, but he was. He arrived back at the cave soon enough, guiding Lucifer up the slope until the animal got the hang of it and then crawled back in himself, putting the water in the corner of the cave where it was kept before giving Liz a grin and wave.

T was on the verge of sleep as she heard footsteps, perking up and offering Sage a light smile as he came inside. "Hey. Miss me?" She joked, rubbing Lucifer as her came closer and settled beside her. She grinned as Liz waved faintly back at him, babbling quietly. "Daddy, I'm pretty sure it's your turn for baby Liz duty, just by the way." She said, moving to set Liz in his lap lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly when she spoke up, noting how tired she looked. "Nah, I was fine with talking to your dog," he teased lightly. "He talks back less," he chuckled lightly. Though, he nodded and wrapped his arms around Lizzie when the baby was handed back to him, grinning back at the little girl when she looked up at him, falling back into his stomach, babbling happily. "Hi baby Liz," he chirped in his baby voice, before looking over at the older girl. "You look like you could use a nap," he mused. "If you're tired then sleep."

"He makes pretty good company. Was the lack of conversation a good thing or a bad thing?" T teased softly, shifting tiredly and rubbing at her eyes as Sage took Liz. After, she settled herself quietly at his side, her arm brushing his gently. She curled her knees up to her chest and glanced over at him, tilting her head faintly. "Are you saying I look tired? How rude." She joked half-heartedly, giving a soft groan and setting her head against her knees. "Are you sure?" She asked softly, glancing over at him through half closed eyes.

Sage chuckled lightly with a nod, then he rolled his eyes in response to her comment. "That was a joke, T. I don't mind talking to you," he snorted. He felt her arm brush his, and he found himself having to stop himself from pressing closer to her. It was just nice to be near someone he trusted not to hurt him, he supposed. He did like creature comforts....but not when the person touching him had the bad habit to hit him. And he obviously trusted T not to do that. He chuckled slightly in response to her other comments though, giving her a look. "You looked about ready to pass out when I got back. Take a nap," he mused lightly.

"Good. If you didn't, I'd say you were putting yourself through undue torture." T joked, watching him through lidded eyes as he continued. Even the faint, gentle contact of brushing against him was so warming. Comforting. She hadn't touched another human being in ages, so the warmth of him was more than welcome. "...alright." She huffed the word out reluctantly, as if losing a battle, and crawled to grab a blanket from their bed area. Rather than settling there, she made her way back to his side, curling the blanket around herself and setting herself up to lean against the wall. Her arm brushed gently against his again, the temptation to lean on him strong; but her fear of rejection stronger. She cuddled her knees to her chest and set her head against them, closing her eyes. "Wake me up if you get lonely." She teased.

Sage chuckled slightly and grinned over at the girl. "If I wanted to put myself through undue torture, I'd just make you mad," he chuckled lightly. He nodded happily when she decided to accept the fact that she was tired, and was admittedly rather glad when she settled back down next to him. "don't you worry, between Liz and Lucifer I'll have plenty of company," he hummed lightly. "Close your eyes for a while." She did look really tired....she was already dozing off again, which he admittedly found rather adorable. Just the fact that they were comfortable and safe enough to be able to do this made it all the better. Of course, he didn't want to just stare at her, so he looked back over at Lizzie, who was staring up at him with big eyes, and then over at the dog, who was also watching them closely. He wrinkled his nose slightly, huffing out a "what are you two looking at," though without any real malice in his voice of course. He half jumped when he felt the girl lean against him, head lolling against his shoulder. She was obviously out cold....and he chuckled after a moment, rather pleased that she trusted him enough to do that, even if it was while she was asleep. It was just nice, he supposed.

T let out a soft hum of approval before fading into sleep. Within a few minutes, her body shifted of it's own accord- she moved in her sleep, and her head lolled gently onto his shoulder, her breathing soft and fluid. With it, some of her weight shifted into him as she leaned against his body, subconsciously seeking warmth or comfort, maybe even both.

Once the initial shock had worn off, sage was more than happy to let the girl rest on him. He sort of just played with Lizzie for a while, though the younger girl also started to tire, so he let her rest on his chest as she drifted off. She did still sleep quite a bit....which was honestly rather good, because it meant she was quiet, which attracted less zombies. He sort of just rested his head against the back wall of the cave happily once they were both asleep, patting Lucifer when he flopped down on the pile too, obviously thinking it looked rather nice.

T stayed still and quiet, comfortably relaxing into him, for an hour or so more. Eventually, her body, unaccustomed to sleeping for so long consecutively, began to shift and she woke quietly. Her eyes fluttered open and she took in a small breath, blinking in confusion at the sight of his neck and his scent. She gently lifted her head, flushing very slightly and giving a yawn. "Sorry." She muttered softly, wiping at her eyes and moving to hold her weight up herself.
