Sage grunted and shrugged when the girl mentioned she figured the concrete was difficult and cocked his head slightly when her eyes seemed to change color. Soon enough though, they seemed to go back to normal and he shook it out of his mind. "Hallelujah," he snorted in a rather sarcastic manner and then shrugged. "A bucket of table salt would work but it would probably be cheaper to just dump a bunch of ocean water in here," he said, hoping to get some ocean water in this god forsaken tank. Maybe if he said it was cheaper she'd be more towards the idea. He figured she was done talking, so he turned to leave, but he was caught a bit off guard when she spoke again, and turned back to her, cocking his head again. "I..." He heasitated for a moment, brain working. "I don't know how to say it in your language," he admitted after a moment. He chattered out the word in merl with a shrug. "The point is I don't just eat meat," he decided on. Then, as a second thought, he added, "and if you block the sun from turning this thing into a spa, that would be great," he sighed, turning slightly to show her where some of the skin was peeling as a result of a pretty bad sunburn. "I'm not supposed to get much sun. It burns," he explained with a sort of shrug, turning back to his normal position.

Oliver sort of shook her head at his small sarcastic bout before nodding her head at his suggestion. "Yeah it would be cheaper... Also I wouldn't trust that the salt would work that much.. Just don't complain when they get you in the net to drain and refill this thing" She warned him as he went to turn and leave. When he turned back around though she waited patiently for his reply as it seemed like he was trying to find the words to speak. Oliver let him finish all his comments before speaking up. "So your an omnivore that eats meat and plants... That's interesting" She spoke her thoughts out loud as she really did find it interesting that the siren also ate plants as well. "Ok I'll look into getting some window blocks and I'll keep it cooler in this part of the warehouse for you. I know you seem to thrive more in the cold" She spoke recalling the othernight when the water was frosty since it was colder in the part of the warehouse.

Sage sort of wrinkled his nose slightly at her comment about having to get caught in the net to refill the tank up, but he did understand that one. "As long as that's all they're doing," he finally agreed. Then he nodded in response to her other comments. "Any kind of growing plant works," he said with a shrug. He mostly ate meat, but he did need some plants here and there. He nodded, admittedly a bit thankfully, at her other comments and offered her a tight smile in response. "I live really deep in the ocean.....there's not much light and it's super cold," he said with a shrug. "just how I'm built." He sort of sunk back under a bit when the guards passed through, so only the top of his head was out of the water. He was willing to stay with her if that's what she wanted for a bit....he was a rather social creature, so even if it was bad attention, she wasn't hurting him so he did sort of want to talk. But he didn't want to even think of doing that with anyone else.....they'd hurt him. She hadn't.

Oliver nodded her head reassuringly at the sirens first comment "I will make sure that's the only thing." She said knowing that if their was anything extra than that would break the small relationship that they had at the moment. For his next responses she nodded her head taking mental notes on it, which made complete sense "I can probably get some for you for this afternoon when I bring you the bucket of food" She told him figuring it wouldn't be that hard to get quickly. As the siren continued to speak she listened keenly as she always like to learn about the creatues and once again what he was saying made sense. Oliver did take notice that he dove under slightly as guards wandered by, which she promptly looked at them and waved them on. Soon enough the guards were off the platform, she then turned back to the siren "If that's all that you wanted to be changed do you mind me asking another question?" She asked a bit louder as he was underwater

Sage nodded slowly in response to her first comment. Good....he could put up with being taken out of that's what they were doing. "Just make sure they don't almost kill me again," he added with a pointed tone. "Stopping breathing wasn't very pleasant," he grumbled. Then he he grunted in agreement when she said she'd find some plants. He cocked his head slightly when she wanted to ask another question but had come back up out of the water more by then. "Depends on the question," he mused after a moment, in a sort of amused tone of voice. He was really just joking around a bit, trying to feel her out a little bit more. Oliver nodded her head "Killing you will be the last thing those idiots will ever try to do" She reassured him once more with her words. When the siren popepd up once more she was a bit surprised hearing a amused tone come from him, finally seeing him start to joke around was great in itself. "Well I was wondering if sirens had any other power besides obviously their luring song?" She asked givign a small tilt of her head "Feel like answering that" She teased with a small grin

Sage grunted lightly in agreement with her first comment and then cocked his head in response to her question, listening curiously. "Mmmm, I don't know," he mused, joking back a little bit, glad to have some playful banter, even if it was with her. "We all have different powers," he explained with a shrug. "Some are stronger than others." He wrinkled his nose in thought. "Like...my baby sister can heal anything. Me, on the other hand....I just tend to burn people," he snorted, slightly amused at that fact. "But we all have the common song to hunt," he added. "Some are just better at it than others." He chose not to mention that he wasn't too great at any of the songs, and for some reason wasn't great at singing in general. Which was why he was shunned and practically kicked out of the community.

Oliver smiled softly at his playfulness back at her, it was nice seeing that side of him. Made him seem less scary than what he was made out to be. As he went on to speak she listend carefully to him, her eyes almost sparkling with fascination as he spoke. Oliver always loved to learn about the different creatures and especially sirens she was excited to know more about. After he was done she nodded her head "That's interesting! Your baby sister sounds fascinating at well" She spoke excitedlty at it was true that she did sound fascinating with the ablilty to heal, that certainly would come in handy a lot on dry land.

Sage could tell the girl was genuinely interested in what he was saying, so he was ok with talking about sirens for a bit. It wasn't like he was telling her everything about everyone. His features softened when she mentioned his sister, and he nodded slightly, a light smile forming on his face, though his eyes crinkled sadly too. "Liz is great," he hummed. "We spent a lot of time together. Mom died a long time ago and my dad is....worse than your dad," he said with a shrug. "I practically raised her," he admitted, glancing out the windows for a moment, heasitantly adding, "I heard her singing last night. A funeral dirge," he added, moving his gaze back to meet hers, not really knowing what else to say.

Oliver saw the slight smile that formed on his face when she mentioned his sister. She found it a bit cute how hearing about his sister got a smile out of him but she did note the sadness that surrounded his eyes. She crouched down getting a bit closer to him as he continued to speak, her eyes still sparkling slightly being interested in the things he was talking about. Oliver felt bad hearing that his mom had died and how he had to raise.. Oh what was her name again.. Oh yeah, Liz which was a nice name. She couldn't imagine how hard it must have been but she also figured he did a good job seeing how strong headed he was. As he added his last comment, another hurtful sting struck her heart. She met his gaze as he looked back, having no clue how to respond to that. What she did know though was she felt extremely sorry for him, getting taken away from his home and sister then getting put in this tank where he got nothing but hurt. Oliver rarely ever felt sorry for the creatures when they told a story like this but with him it was different... She did actually feel sympathy for him and she wished she could change those things back to normal. After a long bit of silence she opened her mouth to speak "I'm sorry..." Was all she muttered out quietly.
