She made an offended noise, walking back over to him. She sat down a safe distance away so she was pretty sure she couldnt be tickled. "You can't banish me like a toddler! That would require serious bribing. Like, chocolate or something. Anyway, hurry up. Im borrreeeed." She flopped on her back, watching him.

He narrowed his eyes at her with a soft smile. "I can banish you aaaaall I want." He winked, then looked at the meat and put a knee up for him to lean on as he put the meat onto plates, which also had a side of eggs. He sat back, pushing a plate in her direction and putting a plate in his own lap. "Come on you toddler. Theres some seasonings inside if you want some." He didn't quite care.

She huffed and sat up. She picked up the plate and sniffed it, then looked at him suspisciously. "You take a bite first." She looked down at the mystery meat warily and then back up at him.

He grinned. "I made it, why would I make it something bad." He teased, then put a forkfull of eggs and the suspicious meat in his mouth. Motioning for her to do the same.

She sighed. "If this kills me, tickle me to death before the poison strikes." She stared at her plate and took a stab of food. She looked at him and held his stare. "Goodbye, cruel world." She shut her eyes and shoved a forkful in her mouth, swallowing it quickly as if it would help. She opened one eye warily. Then opened the other. She grinned. "Im alive! Dutch, come here boy, he didn't kill me, im alive!" She raised her arms in victory.

He chuckled, watching her melodramatic jokery, the whole show was amusing. Dutch trotted over and nosed her face, then came to Luke because he held out some of the meat. "By the way since you passed the test, it was squirrel." He smiled evilly.

"Oh. Thats it? Damn, I was expecting hummingbird or something ridiculous." She took another bite. "Not bad, I guess. It couldve been worse. But I do think I should write a book about this experience. Im thinking... 'I survived Luke's Mystery Meat'." She stared at the sky sarcastically, as if she were pondering titles.

"I don't have the patience to hunt down the seventy hummingbirds it would take to make this. And also I have a feeling they would be very gamy." He snickered, continuing to eat as she monologued. He looked at her. "Or my surprise squirrel."

They had been walking for a signifigant while before the town came into view. The most depressing part was that almost everything looked the same. There was the occasional blood stain on a storefront, and some warning graffiti, but otherwise it seemed like a normal town. Mercy did NOT like it, and her face and sudden silence as they walked into the town showed it. She had pulled her hair up into a bun and tied his shirt so it was a bit tighter on her. Less excess material for something to grab. She had a few daggers and a newer handgun she had stolen from Luke. "God; this place gives me the creeps..." She said, walking stride by stride with him.

Luke was calm and collected as they walked along the asfault street. He glanced at all of the building, every so often there was an area that looked like it had been ravaged, like a shattered store window. He narrowed his eyes and looked down at her as she complained. He wasn't too worried, he had at least four different types of weaponry on his person. "Weeell its the best we got nearby." He glanced off at a clothing store, he touched her arm and turned off. The store window was shattered, a shelf toppled over on the inside. He giggled a little as he looked at it when they walked in.
