(lol its fine)
"Where have you been? and what happened to your leg..." Kestrel had glanced over to Aether's wound. "Been in a pack, and it was just...a few hunters." The look on Kestrel's face was priceless. "The great Aether is in a pack? Whoa, who replaced you Aether?" Aether growled, "Temporarily... There's this wolf, I'm interested in." He lowered his voice, just to see a spark light up in her eyes. "Oooohh someone's got a crush!" Kestrel whipped her tail, leaning down with a smug face. "I do not! Well maybe...wait No! I don't." Aether bared his teeth, Kestrel seemed unaffected. "What's their name? Please don't tell me you're going to go all soft." She said. "Azra, and no I'm not going soft, never ever!" He growled, Just friends, Just friends.

Azra huffed, content as he laid with the pups for a while longer, before realizing he hadn't heard or saw Aether for awhile. Groaning, he got to his feet, Ignoring the young pups whines as he hassled himself to leave their den in search for his...friend?? Could he even call him that? Either way, Azra went out to ask the other wolves if they'd seen him, and none of them were very helpful. They all gave him the same expression; a look of disgust.
"I hope he's safe atleast." He sighed, looking out at the woods. He knew it wouldn't be a good idea to leave the pack, so he did the next best thing and raised his muzzle, letting out a deep howl. Hopefully Aether recognizes his voice and responds, otherwise Azra would just be silently panicking until he returned. After a second he heard another howl, but this one was from close by, and turning to see who it was, he snickered as he saw Kao. The red wolf-sized pup sat down besides him, a grin on both of their faces as they obnoxiously howled together. Wherever Aether was, they both hoped this messed with him atleast somewhat. Aether had settled down in front of Kestrel, and they were catching up. "Wait so the whole pack chased you? Why didn't you cal-" He was cut off, his ears perked up at the loud howling. "Is one of those howls your future mate?" Kestrel said, getting to her paws. Aether glared at her before breaking into a calm sprint, even if he wasn't calm... he was quite distressed actually, was Azra in trouble? He looked behind him to see Kestrel following him, "Kestrel if you don't shut up I'm going to tear your vocal cords." He snapped, yet he could hear the snickering of Kestrel, "Im sure you will." She said, quickening her pace. As he ran into camp and went straight toward where the howling was from, Aether made the mistake of not slowing himself down... so he slammed right into Azra, while Kestrel carefully skidded to a stop a few distances away.

Azra flopped against the ground dramatically, smiling up at Aether regardlessly." You know the point of a howl is for you to howl back, right? I mean I know I'm handsome and big and all, but there's no need to come running back to me." He teased as Kao snickered from where sat where Azra had just been.
Azra and Kao gave each other a smug look to each other over Aether's shoulder, before they both simultaneously pounced on the small wolf. Kao was rubbing himself against Aether while Azra did the same, both of them over exaggerating their movements just for the fun of it. If Kao did it because Aether was starting to grow on him, and Azra did it because he liked it better when Aether smelled like him then that was nobody's but theirs. Aether looked down at Azra who was smiling, "Well...when you're a loner, howling means you're in danger- I wanted to know if you were okay." He finally said, a look of annoyance, of himself, seemed to light up his face. Aether tried to scramble out of the way but it seemed to be too late... Both Azra and Kao were rubbing against him, and since he was pretty much small compared to him, he kept stumbling around, trying his best to keep his balance as he made an attempt to nudge Azra. After being stuck in the middle of the wolves he scooted backward to where Kestrel had been, she must have left the camp earlier because she was nowhere to be seen. Pinning his ears slightly, he looked away, mostly to hide his current emotion...and because now he was covered in Azra and some of Kao's scent. "You almost suffocated me!" He remarked playfully.

"Nah, we just gave you a tight hug." Azra laughed, along with Kao who just made a low rumbling noise, obvious approval in his eyes as he smirked at Aether. Azra then turned to Kao, rubbing against him as well before nudging the pup under his chin." Your on patrol tonight, kid. Don't forget about it and make me stay up." He snapped at Kao playfully, who groaned and then grinned widely." Hey pops...you and your friend could stay up on patrol tonight. You know, since I'm a pup and all I need my rest right?" Azra huffed." You don't deserve rest. Not after all the times you've kicked me in my sleep." He growled, to which Kao looked away, trying to find a distraction." O-oh would you look at that! I think I can hear Venice calling me, and-is that mint I smell?" And with that the pup was running off, leaving a laughing Azra behind who shook off the dirt in his sleek fur before turning back to Aether." Well, I guess I should be nice to Kao just this once."

Aether observed their conversations, it seemed to him that Kao was always trying to avoid his responsibilities, which he found that... interesting, from all the stories he heard, pack wolves were supposed to be brave, great fighters, reliable, and not lazy..."Do we have to do the-this, dumb patrol?" He growled, "I'd actually like to sleep tonight." Aether was quite tired after that hunting, plus running from the deep woods into the camp took a lot of energy out of him. "You are always nice to him, too nice fact," Aether commented, raising his head in a noble mimic of Kao.

Azra tilted his head, stretching before shaking once again." Can't be mean to a pup even if I tried. It brings back too many bad memories. Memories I'd like to not remember for now." He says with a shudder, thinking of chains bound to his neck, fierce tugging from a handler that would slap him across his nose whenever he'd do much as jerk in the wrong way. He remembers being left, being told to fight or die. He remembers being picked on, bitten at, taunted at until he'd snapped. Yeah this wasn't even remotely related to that, but still. Azra sighed." You can go on to bed. I usually end up patrolling with Ven-" He paused, his mouth snapping shut." Nevermind that. The point is, you can go to sleep if you want. I probably will sleep in my other den though, as I usually end up doing after patrols."

Aether could notice Azra was off, Trauma he guessed, that would explain a lot. "No! I'm staying with you." He said, brushing up against Azra. He could tell right away that Azra was going to say Venice, and that of course, made him somewhat upset, he figured they were friends, but the phrase 'sharing is caring doesn't apply to Aether, if he wants something, he will get it. Aether parted his jaws in a yawn, although tired, he wasn't going to let Venice patrol with Azra... unless the dumb omega decided to put himself in anyways, Aether would try his best to contain his anger...which usually wasn't a good thing, it would build up, and build up, then it would come crumbling down on an innocent wolf, or maybe the culprit, it depends.

" Your tired, Aether. Just go to sleep with Kao, and I'll be back before you know it. Besides, I don't think you'd like patrolling with me on nights anyways." He jerks his head towards little eyes watching them from beneath a bush, chuckling to himself." Venice and you maybe be compete with each other for whatever it is that omegas and loners usually fight over, but me and Venice are usually the ones to sneak the pups that didn't get to play in the daylight out at night. We take them down to the creek, right by my den, and let them do whatever until they tire themselves out." He says as he picks one of the pups up by its scruff, the others yapping as they trail after him." It's not much of a patrol, but hey, no one's going to find out anyways."
