I always turned the lights off at night to give her the day and night aspect of things - she always came to the glass when nighttime came and the lights went out. I just assumed she wanted out.
BlackRose
She looked up a bit, she would also stop and ponder sometimes. Well it looked like she was pondering and just thinking of life before walking around again. I never seen her walk in circles though… she did however always destroy her cage. I just called or redecorating but she would move everything and you’d hear literal banging from her Vivarium when the lights went out… I’m now thinking a possible sight issue..?

Did she ever like walk in circles or look up at the sky for no reason?

-HEE Click- I need a name for this boy. And I have to decide what I am doing with him
BlackRose
Yeah we had to tong feed her then she ate the worms on her own. I always loved how she tilted her head when she peaked interest in one of the worms. Then closing her eyes to eat. My father did say to me he things there was something wrong with her when we got her because… she just wasn’t completely right and we could never figure out why but due to the fact we got her eating at least something and was progressing we kept her. The guy did say he would take her back and give us another one or our money back but she was progressing bit by bit

I had a leopard gecko years ago when I first started keeping reptiles that refused to eat anything. I ended up rehoming her because I didn't know a whole lot back then and didn't want her to die. My guy now, he is a great eater but if you are tong feeding him meal worms and he misses, he will get discouraged and stop eating lol. But he gets tona of crickets to hunt so he is fine
BlackRose
The guy did say we would have to syringe feed her but I was so worried of choking or breaking her jaw when she was resisting that it was just easier to feed her things she wanted to eat and she loved waxworms
BlackRose
Most definitely, although it was the safest thing for her from the outcome of it all. She wasn’t the best at eating. She went through a really weird thing of where we had to kill the crickets in front of her? For her to eat them. Then she came out of that and was eating on her own so we the guy recommended substrate and we got coco fibre blocks (I could be wrong on the name) but it was a block you soak in warm water

Yeah the only animals I keep on paper towel or paper are tiny baby geckos, because they are dumb lol
Hellion Ridge
I wouldn't recommend using anything that isn't substrate to be honest. Things like paper towel and newspaper aren't very enriching or comfortable
BlackRose
Hm… that does sound strange. I’d love another leopard gecko but at the time I always felt like I was replacing her and could never bring myself to get another one. I do believe the only way I’d get another is if I had to take one in.

We have one at the pet store I work at that I would totally take if I had the room. We can't sell him because for some reason his legs started growing funny and he walks on the back of his wrists on the front feet. We don't understand why because he has had proper care and all the other ones we have are perfectly healthy
BlackRose
She ate quiet a bit and she couldn’t get it fully up again unfortunately. I don’t understand why he even told us to put substrate in she was fine on the newspaper
BlackRose
But I have always wanted to get another one that I feel ready to but I also wouldn’t get one unless I’ve seen one being rehomed or in poor condition - I’d take it in until I can either get it to someone who will properly care for it or keep it but I don’t have the experience to keep a poorly treated reptile as I’m aware there’s some issues that are life long for a reptile if they aren’t treated properly etc
