He nodded, fine with whatever she wanted. He hadn't stayed in one place for long before, so it wasn't much of a change for him. "Well, actually, you need food. I can eat human food, but it only does so much. I, uh," he paused for a second and shifted his weight slightly. "Demons gain their energy from taking human souls. I still need to kill people." He spread his fingers, hand outwards in a type of shrug. "It kind of works out. You'll only have to worry about feeding one of us." He was trying to put at least a bit of positive light on that, and just hoped that Maxine wouldn't get too upset about it. Especially since he needed her permission to do that.

Maxine looked up at him curiously listening "Oh..." she said "I mean I guess it does work out..." she said gently "You don't just kill random people though... do you?" she asked looking up at him raising a brow, she was genuinely curious but also a little concerned... they couldn't just leave a trail of bodies eveywhere they went... that could create a whole new host of problems for the two of them.

He chuckled and shook his head. "I can only kill people who's time is up. I'm not really killing them per day, just absorbing their energy." He grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. "But I, uh, I need your permission to do it."

Maxine couldn't hide the blush on her cheeks this time "Oh... Okay uhm..." she said perking up curiously when he said that she had to allow it "Because of the collar... Alright... uh... I'll make a deal with you... you can have your... Soul food..." she said trying so hard not to make it a joke "But we can't leave a trail of bodies behind unless we want the cops after us too Sage..." she said gently.

He shrugged. "I know. I have been doing this for a while," he pointed out. Then he gave her a cocky smirk he knew would make her blush even more. "Besides, I don't leave any trails if I don't want to and I take care of the bodies." Then he wondered what the heck he was doing smiling like that. Wanting to make her blush? Good grief, maybe he got hit in the head just a tad too hard the other day.

Maxine's blush only reddend when he gave his smirk 'Stop it my cheeks hurt!' she thought as she nodded "Okay." she said with a nod "Uh... i'm gonna go start packing..." she said standing and offering a hand for the plate he had in front of him. Once she'd done the dishes (though she didn't know why she was bothering at this point.) she went over to her finished paintings and started getting them packed up to be shipped the blush still pretty obvious on her cheeks as she passed him, she sat on the ground and began getting the paintings ready "Uh in the back room there by the kitchen is some bubble wrap... can you grab that for me?" she asked forgetting about the painting she'd been working on... it was a medium sized canvas on the easel in the center of the heavily tarped room and on it was Sage's face in multiple colors and shades... it was abstract like most of her paintings but she'd never done a portrait of anyone before and all from memory.

Sage nodded and stood up, still grinning. "Sounds to me like youre just jealous I'm pretty," he teased as he walked out of the room. He grabbed the bubble wrap from where she told him it was. He started back and saw the painting out of the corner of his eye. He looked in the kitchen to make sure she was still busy, set the bubble wrap down, and walked over to the painting. He was impressed... painting wasn't something he was great at, but Maxine was amazing. He stared at it for a minute and then remembered she had asked him to bring her stuff so he scrambled back to the kitchen

Maxine gave a small laugh "God you're too cheeky for your own good is what you are!" she retorted as she put the boxes she needed together, they were around the same shape and size of the canvas's only just a bit bigger so she could bubble wrap the paintings for safe traveling whilst she waited for him. When he finally came back she looked up at him giving a small chuckle "Did you get lost?" she teased lightly taking the large roll of bubble wrap and beginning to wrap one of her paintings in it.

Sage set the bubble wrap down, put his hands on his hips, and grinned at her. "Well based off the painting of my face in there you like my cheekiness," he all but cackled. He hadn't responded earlier because he had already left when she said it, but he could respond now, and teasing her playfully made the whole situation even better.

Maxine winced when he mentioned the painting shit... she'd forgotten that was in there... "So you saw that huh...?" she asked looking up at him her blush deeper now. "Maybe I do..." she smirked "The question is... what are you gonna do about it?" she teased playfully.
