Carl mounted Valenciago and took a moment to get comfortable, tightening his girth one hole each side he picked up the reins and asked Valenciago to walk on with a loose rein. "Which way?" he asked Raven watching her face change as she thought about an answer. I would so live to kiss you right now, he thought and for once he let himself admit it

"follow me" she kicked shadow to a trot and lead him down the road took a right crossed a not so busy highway took a left to a open beach/lake/camp area for horses and pulled shadow to a stop

Carl touched Valenciago with his lower leg to ask him to trot and he willingly obliged gracefully picking his feet high off the ground. They follower Raven and Shadow along but when they got to the lakeside, instead of stopping he shortened hir reins and asked Valenciago for a piaffe wich he very happily gave him. Carl found Raven's eyes and chuckled "Sorry! I just couldn't resist showing off!" then he dismounted and found a nice spot to have breakfast

"oh yeah?" Raven found the perfect jump a huge thick long with rocks around it "run" she said to her mare they flew through the sand and when they reached the log sailed over it with ease and then trotted back "hows that for showing off?" she asked dismounting next to him and allowing shadow to hang out with Valenciago

"Impressive" said Carl with a cheeky grin "most impressive." Oh man do i want to kiss her! He let his eyes rest on her lips but quickly snapped them back to her eyes when he realised that she was looking at him. He leaned back and propped himself up with his arms

she went and sat by him leaning her head on his shoulder feeling safe for the first time In years

"I was thinking about what you said about trauma and if ever you want or need to talk about it, i can listen, i want to listen. I know that this probably isn't the best time to bring this up because it's the last thing you want to think about but i just wanted to tell you. Ok?" he said softly almost whispering the 'ok'

"ok" she said with tear rolling down her face

Carl felt the tear drop onto his shoulder and put his arm around Raven, rubbing it. Turning his head towards her, he hesited for a moment then kissed her on the top of her head and stayed with his face buried in her hair, hugging her
