Mari sort of tucked herself into bed after a moment, just sort of resting and... thinking. She didn't know what about, exactly, but something. She still felt so bad about it all... she knew it was best for them, and the way Sage had reacted when he first saw the child just confirmed that... but she was really trying to convince herself that it wasn't her fault. It wasn't. She huffed out a breath and settled down in bed after a moment just sort of trying to drift off to sleep.

Sage had sort of wandered downstairs to take care of the kids, letting them play calmly in the living room for a bit before getting washed up and ready for bed. Once the kids were all settled, he washed up the kitchen so Mari would have a break and could sleep in the next morning. Then he went to wash himself up and slide into bed quietly so he didn't wake Mari, who was sound asleep by then.

Mari smiled softly when sage wandered off, eventually just slipping off to sleep... she was exhausted. She didn't wake up when Sage came in, instead just got comfortable where she was. She absentmindedly curled up to Sage, though, really just getting comfortable. She woke up the next morning fairly early, though, and sort of just hid her nose into his shoulder to hide from the light peaking into the curtains.

Sage smiled sleepily when she curled up, though drifted off quite quickly after that. He didn't move when he did, though he curled in a bit tighter unconsciously when she moved to press her nose into him. He sort of just settled down with a huff after that, still very asleep. Which was fine, since Mari wasn't exactly up and awake yet...she was just curled up and quiet still. And it was more than fine with him.....he'd been up a lot later than her, so he was definitely still tired.

Mari work up a bit more after a moment or two before sighing and wrapping herself a little bit tighter to him. She hadn't really done anything like this in a while... but there was a bit of weight off her shoulders now, so she seemed happy enough just to breath in his scent and feel his warmth... it had been so long since she'd actually felt it. She eventually murmured a type of good morning before settling down again.

Sage obviously didn't respond to the girl, since he was still asleep, but he had subconsciously moved to curl up and into her a bit tighter. He didn't wake though, he really had been up late the night before. For the past couple nights, actually, he'd been working hard, not wanting to bother Mari or make her nay more upset with him. Really, the amount of sleep he'd been getting was almost nothing....so now that he felt like he could sleep a bit, he was definitely going to do so. He was still deep asleep too....no doubt it was just needed.

Mari slept for a long while after that... well, not really sleeping but rather resting. The kids normally work her up if needed. She sighed and moved to slip her hand under Sages shirt the way she normally did, really just relaxing and getting comfortable. She sighed, sort of moving to press a light kiss to Sages shoulder. He wouldn't feel it, he was still asleep and practically snoring, but it was just nice having him there.

Sage relaxed even more when she slipped her hands under his shirt....he supposed the familiar movement was nice, even if he wasn't conscious to really feel it. He just curled up a bit more, his breathing still deep and steady. It was just nice to sleep in.... especially being up so late before. It was definitely soothing and relaxing for him too.....they both needed to relax a bit, hed figured. Which was why he'd sort of started to think about what they could do for their anniversary. They both needed a few days of relaxation, he thought. It would be good for both of them.

Mari sat in bed for a while, just enjoying the soft warmth it gave her. It was strange, but the last few night it had felt so hard. Like it was either too hard or too cold or too hot, but now it was just... fine. Perfect. She sltipped back off to sleep after a little while, though, just getting comfortable... or as comfortable as she could be. Which, right then was pretty damn comfy.

Sage stayed that way for another couple hours before starting to wake. He sort of squinted at the now very light windows and then the clock, before deciding he was still very much sleepy and the kids weren't up yet, so it was perfectly fine to go back to sleep. That being said, he wasted no time in closing his eyes again, snuggling back up with Mari and drifting off again into that sort of half asleep half awake stage, just glad to be cozy and warm. And with her ....things had finally sort of started going back to normal, he supposed. And it was nice. Sleeping in was also nice, seeing as he hadn't been sleeping much at all for the past week or so. He'd lost a couple of pounds, for sure....but that was alright. There was no need to worry himself or Mari about it now.
